    Great podcast, needs change though.
Best aviation podcast out there, Jeff and the crew do a great job, however please take out the producer audio. Ive been listening since the 100’s but Liz talking over everyone ruins the show.

    Way too long
Who has the time to listen for almost 3 hours? Consider making it shorter.

Great content mired by poor production
APG is a brilliant podcast with amazingly talented and experienced hosts. However, in the podcast version of the show the producer’s audio is included in the recording. The end result for the listener is that the producer is constantly talking over the other hosts with information that does not add anything relevant to the show. Only the show’s main host can hear the producer, and often times the producer is making snide remarks and irrelevant corrections to the host. I find that the inclusion of the producer’s audio makes this show most often unlistenable.

    Great podcast
I love this show, I have learned so much. Helps me work, or sleep. I recommend! I What airline does Captain Jeff fly for? Delta I’m guessing, He flys a MD80 or 717 so that’s why I think that.

    Fun, Knowledgable, and Entertaining
As a very long time subscriber going back to the first Catholic Pilot episode, I can saw that Capt. Jeff and the crew he has assembled over the years have educated me on aircraft and airlines in a fun and entertaining way. I particular love the deep dives into technical issues when the Capt. M Rick is cohosting. The podcast has provided lots of company while commuting and/or exercising. I look forward to each episode.

Great Podcast even for people not in the flying business
I'm a lay person, I've never flown an airplane but Captain Jeff's podcast is always very interesting. He talks about a life of a commercial airline pilot and he let's us know all the details and things that happen in the cockpit that I've always wondered about. He is not shy about expressing his opinions.

    Listener since catholic pilot guy
I started listed to the show around episode 26 of catholic pilot. Been hooked ever since. The hosts have a great rapport with one another and fantastic sense of humor, even the ol’ Brit. (I’m joking, Capt. Nick)(it’s allowed since we won the war). Great show and highly recommend to anyone with even the slightest bit of interest in aviation, and to those not interested at all in aviation. At the very least, Jeff’s voice is great to listen to when going to sleep…(Joking again, Capt. Jeff). Seriously though, you should give these folks a try.

    Nice
Nice aviation podcast , need more of Miami Rick , and don’t want listen to Lyz Piper she should be the producer not been interrupting all the time .

    Such Joy
This show brings so much joy. I look forward to it every week. I am listening to every episode in reverse order as I have fell in love with this podcast. I have no affiliation with aviation other than an excessive interest in it from the outside. Cheers APG crew!

    Too much fluff
Wanted so hard to like this show, but there was just so much chit chat about random topics
  • gmann750

    Always good stuff. Thank you.

I love this podcast!! I subscribed a couple of weeks ago.
I’m a private pilot with an instrument rating and a high performance/retractable gear endorsement. I especially like your segment regarding incidents since we all should study them with great interest. I also like your technical discussions (engines, airframes etc). I was a gas turbine mechanic in the Navy for twelve years and can’t get enough technical information!! Anyway, fantastic podcast and thank you for doing it.

    Great for all aviation folks
I am a GA pilot and found this podcast by listening to the guys at Opposing Bases. Cap Jeff, Nick and Dr Steph all seem like great people (and Liz and Rick too) and I love that they aren't afraid to pick on everyone. I look forward to each week when it drops.

    So good!
I’m just generally interested in aviation and this podcast always covers a broad range of topics and has interesting perspectives every week. Been listening for about 40 episodes now and I love that it is about 3 hours long so i can break it up and listen to it 3-4 days a week!

    Top notch everything!
This is one of my favorite podcasts ever and I listen to a lot of podcasts. I’m an airline pilot so at first I thought it wouldn’t be for me. But after listening I quickly learned to love it. An added bonus is APG has the best audio quality of any podcast anywhere.
  • Hella sick !!!!
    A great aviation podcast!
This show gives you the feeling that your chatting with your good friends, rather than listening to someone reading a script. Thanks APG crew!...APG!
  • douche you are
    Idk
So are there humans in the control towers? ....and when you sing that coffee song it’s very creepy...
  • MaxGravy
The friendliest aviation podcast in the universe!
There’s something really special about the APG crew chemistry. I was hooked after a few episodes and now I can’t get enough.

    Best Aviation Podcast
I look forward every week to hearing your podcast and humor. I travel often for work on Delta airlines and find it very fascinating to hear the inside scoop from actual airline pilots and an actual doctor! Great stuff! I’m a private pilot in Louisville Kentucky and your show keeps my ADM in its toes! Thanks crew, and keep up the good work!

    Just plane awesome
Hello APG crew! I love listening to the podcast and hearing all of the topics. I got my private certificate a few weeks ago in the rare Piper Tomahawk (Registration N8573X). I will be attending a four year aviation program at Bowling Green State University. I hope to either fly with you guys on a flight or meet all of you in person! Keep up the great work!
  • Baintman
    Entertaining and informative!
Stumbled across a recent APG #389 podcast about 2 weeks ago. Pretty good! So dove into the archives at #104 and has been keeping me company while I paint the house and commute to work. Definitely a winner. Thanks Capt. Jeff!

    Great
Jeff,Dana,Nick and Dr. Steph. What a great funny informative podcast. A must listen for anyone remotely interested in aviation or not. Fun crew to listen to.

I love this show and the team
I never thought I'd enjoy a 3hr podcast, but this is the one. I love the chemistry between the team and the topics of discussion.
  • Randysjc
    Best
Don’t listen to the naysayers this podcast just keeps getting better and better keep up the good work Randy
  • Window Seat, Everytime
Three hours a week of greatness!
Any great ensemble needs opposites to play off of each other. Capt. Jeff is the smooth, straight-laced guy with a slightly twisted undertone. Capt. Nick is story-telling “Old Curmudgeon” who would take an Airbus over a Boeing, even if the Airbus was on fire. Capt. Dana is often the foil to Capt. Nick, and an ocean of knowledge regarding what it takes to make it in the world of commercial aviation. And saving the best for last, Dr. Steph is the sensible one of the bunch who offers the perspective of the GA pilot and a commercial passenger. Together they allow an AvFan to look deep into the world, and life, of commercial aviation, as well as motivating amateur aviators to pursue their dreams of surfing those clouds.

    My favorite podcast
The APG gang are simply the best. I’ve been listening for a long time and still get excited to see a new episode posted. The APG is so much more than a podcast. It is a worldwide community of aviation geeks. Many thanks to Capt. Jeff, Dr. Steph, Capt. Nick, and Capt. Dana.

    Down to Earth and Funny!
Captain Jeff, Dr. Steph, Captain Nick, and Captain Dana... I look forward to the show every week! I love the range of topics you cover but particularly love Old Plane Tales!
  • TomsterK
It’s great, when it talks about airplanes or flying
APG is an interesting podcast, when it talks about airplanes, airlines or flying, but that only happens about 20% of the time, I’d say. The majority of the time is spent introducing Captain Jeff’s friends, discussing what everyone had for lunch and dinner, and a great deal of time discussing beer. These are all interesting topics... to someone, and these are all good people, but if you want to learn more about airplanes, airlines or flying, tune into the Aviationweek podcast. No discussion of beer over there!

    Great Podcast
This is as great podcast. I have been listening for just over a year, working on catching up with the older episodes and still look forward to every episode. Its a great way to get a view on their side of the cockpit door. If your a new listener, proceed with caution, this podcast can be addicting.
  • Bruty74
    Excellent Aviation Podcast
Captain Jeff knows his stuff! So does the rest of his APG crew!! Have listened for years!
  • Poopwell
    Hooked
Currently hopelessly hooked to this podcast. Listening to every current episode and also catching up from the beginning. Thank you Apple for the 1.5x playback feature. I must say though, Captain Jeff sounds really weird at regular speed once you’ve listened to him sped up for a few hours.

    APG Syndrome Is Real!
Whatever you do, DO NOT start listening to this podcast. You will want more, more often, until it's all you can think about. But seriously, Captain Jeff, Almost-Captain Dan, Captain Nick and Dr. Steph, pilots all, dissect aviation news, happenings, events and incidents with deep knowledge and understanding from an easy to understand persepctive - even for non-pilots like myself. Highly recommend giving this a listen. You've been warned! LOL

For avgeeks and the just-plain-curious alike!
This is without a doubt the thing I have listened to most in the last 10 months. I’ve listened to about 100 episodes and watched some of the live broadcasts. I am constantly learning more than I thought possible from a podcast, about a subject that is just fascinating. I work for a major US airline, but not directly with the flight line, so hearing the crew’s perspectives has given me insight into what pilots may be going through at my airline. Simply put, if you have even a fleeting interest or familiarity with aviation, commercial or military or even general, pick a show and give it a listen! The collective knowledge of the hosts is a gift to be shared, and they do it very well. Cheers and beers, APG!
  • Fly_n2hi
    Great job!
Love listening and learning. I am on my slow voyage to commercial aviation and really enjoy the insight the show brings. Thanks for the hard work!

    Alcoholic Pilot Guy....
If you aspire to fly for the majors, or like to diss MDC (ahem) and Boeing (cough) products, this show's for you*. Plane Tails is fantastic - in a league of it's own. And the rest is all in good sport, right? So maybe change the name, rebrand the coffee fund to the IPA fund, and you'll be styling. . (*) unless you're destined for a 12-step program, then not so much.

    Leading the pack!
The APG show is at the top of the Aviation podcasting scene for a reason! Capt. Jeff and Crew always provide entertaining insights and commentary about the world of commercial aviation. Captain Nick’s Plane Tales segment is pure gold. Great content, great people, great podcast. Subscribe now! But beware of APG syndrome...

    Slow Paced, Not Very Technical
If you are an aviation fan, this is probably a good listen if you have a few hours to kill. Quality production. Too slow, light and long for me w/ten minutes of introduction, howdie doodie and cookie recipies (just kidding about the cookies). War stories (there I was driving a Cessna for the CHP watching Napa burn down), light chit chat, etc. Obviously people like the show, but I think it could be half as long.
  • KaptainKevin
    Too long
Enjoy listening but the episodes are just getting way too long. Too much chit chat. Maybe it’s time to split them up. Maybe put the news portion on another segment or new show. Don’t have the free time Just IMO.

For those who want a career in aviation, had a career in aviation, or simply love aviation, this is the podcast for you! Although I never made airline pilot status, this is the way I vicariously continue to fly. Peppered with humor and jesting, this informative podcast will also keep you laughing. Be careful, it's very addicting (known as APG Syndrome).
  • Neal1128
    I'm hooked, thanks guys.
I'm a private helicopter pilot working on my commercial helicopter certificate. I may not be a fixed wing pilot but I absolutely love the aviation community surrounding this podcast. Hope to make it to a meetup one day!
