Drinking up this podcast like a Sponge 🧽
I’ve spent the last 20 yrs of my life wishing my body was smaller and feeling like I was always doing something wrong because of the number on the scales. I can’t stop listening to the radically different message shared here in this wonderful podcast by Christy and her guests. THANK YOU 🙏 Something important is shifting inside.

    Completely changed my life
Christy Harrison delves into very complex and contentious issues around food, eating, and our bodies with compassion, insight and a wealth of well-researched knowledge, and her guests are always similarly passionate and insightful. I am thankful every day for stumbling upon one of her podcasts as it has dramatically changed my relationship with food and my body in an incredibly life-affirming way. I always learn something new every time I listen to a different one of these podcasts. The back catalogue is incredible! Thank you Christy for your hard work and tireless dedication to taking down diet culture! I am so glad to have found you!!

    Eternally grateful for this podcast.
I cannot commend this podcast highly enough. For the last several years I’ve been a slave to diet culture, but now I’ve been educated. I’m seeing everything afresh and the future is much more promising. Thank you so much.

    Life-changing listening
I hadn’t realised quite how much diet culture had affected my life and how I viewed myself and my relationship with food and body image until I started to listen to Christy’s interviews. It really has been the life thief she describes in her book. But thanks to this podcast I’ve changed my thinking. I’m finally letting go of years of self-blame and shame around food and eating. This festive holiday I have allowed myself to enjoy everything without the little voice in my ear berating me and telling me that I will have to pay the price. And I feel set free. Thanks so much.

    What a find!
This is such a joy to listen to and a great place to find rad fat activists and anti diet radicals.

Truly love this podcast! Only realised that my LONG unhealthy relationship with food was actually pretty disordered a month or two ago and since then, after a few days of tears not knowing how I'd ever get out of this ongoing cycle of restricting and binging and away from the orthorexic mind set, I decided it was time to educate myself to find out why the hell I was stuck in this loop. Thank goodness I stumbled upon your podcast (after sifting through all the ones about weight loss which I certainly thought was a bad idea) because it has been enlightening. No more do I fear certain foods; no more do I create all these rules for myself around food and feel shame if I break one and no longer do I feel obligated to "clean eat" or exercise after a bad day or feel like 'finally, I'm hungry; finally, I can eat'. Instead, you've essentially taught me through your podcasts to be mysel; the chill but inquisitive person I've always meant to be! Healthy, not thin. Self-caring, not self-controlling. Intuitive eating has changed the game and now I feel empowered instead of guilty every time I nourish my body with what it's asking for. You rock! Thanks

    Mixed
There is value in this podcast but the host is quite condescending and often glosses over/oversimplifies topics that are nuanced and delicate in order to support her narrative. I understand it serves her to be very black and white about literally everything in this area, but it would be a lot more helpful - esp at this point, years in - to acknowledge and attempt to truly consider and work through different angles and facets of the convo rather than shutting down anything mildly outside her own present worldview. I don’t subscribe because I find it grates and starts feeling like propaganda in a way (even when I mostly agree, it still feels icky and unnecessary at this degree) but it is nice to listen the occasional episode.

    Aging, diet culture and menopause
I was really looking forward to listening to this episode, however, the sped up pace of the conversation was so difficult to follow, I stopped as I couldn’t understand and found it immensely un enjoyable to have to focus so much to get the gist ☹️

    Absolutely incredible
No words. This podcast is changing lives and I hope it continues to shift the worlds view into the truth that has been taken from us. So grateful, thank you.

    A game changer
This is a fantastic podcast. Christy strikes a good balance between asking guests about their own experience and imparting her own knowledge about, and experience of, intuitive eating, nutrition and anti-diet and HAES philosophies. For anyone struggling with their relationship with food or their body, this is a game changer. For me as a psychotherapist, this took my practice and my personal recovery from an ED to a new level, and I have just started the IE Counselling course run by Elyse and Evelyn, after learning about IE through Christy. Read her book ‘Anti-Diet’ too.

    Interesting but condescending
I’m very interested in the content and really enjoy the wide range of guests on the show. However I find the host, Christy very condescending at times especially when answering listener’s questions. She also has a tendency to talk over guests and turn their stories around to her own eating disorder or history. If you skip the first 10 mins of her pushing her courses and books onto the listeners then it’s a good podcast - just wish there was a different host.
  • britzhanna
Would be great if she focused less on emphasising divisions and helplessness
OK - some really valuable lessons in there but also continually ‘I’m so oppressed, I can’t do anything’ from so many of the interviews which gets old pretty fast. Everyone has different challenges in life, it’s not a competition of who has the most hardships! She seems to view everyone as victims while I like to think of us all as having strength :) I download certain episodes but I don’t subscribe, so as to choose carefully what I listen to from her to keep the helpless vibe to a min :)

    Don’t miss this.
An invaluable accompaniment to the journey out of diet culture to a life of acceptance fully lived.

Christy has offered me peace within my body
Christy is amazing. Her ability to allow her guests the space to talk about their experiences and the connection she is able to make with each of them is really beautiful to listen too. I listen to a talk every day and it is the only safe space I have found to listen to other women who speak so earnestly and truthfully. My relationship with my own body has changed so dramatically and I am so aware of my own thoughts around my body as well as being able to witness other peoples journeys within diet culture. This podcast has given me the ability to step back from diet talk and instead to recommend this podcast and to change the subject to more meaningful conversations. Changing a life time of negative habits towards my body is a daily challenge and this podcast gives me hope and the strength to keep going. Thank you Christy.

I honestly don’t know how I did without this podcast and I’ve only been listening for one week! I can’t recommend this enough. Perfect for anyone fighting the diet culture world and learning to love themselves again, I honestly can’t stop listening. Just a completely different perspective on everything I’ve ever been told or shown growing up. So happy I decided to listen, thank you Christy!

    Do better
I loved the podcast for so long but it does shock me how nuanced you are dedicated to being when discussing topics of gender and fatphobia and feminist issues but hardly ever touch of issues of race, specifically concerning black women. Pretty disappointing

    Life changing
This is a must-listen to anyone at any size, with food issues or without. The message of self compassion, being kind to yourself, really tuning into your body and giving yourself what you want is perfect. In today’s image obsessed culture, helping anyone unravel self worth from self image is inspirational and the guests all have something awesome to say. Love it! 💖💖💖

    Great...unless your male
I found the podcast very interesting and helpful and has introduced me to a new way of thinking...but I find it too women centric, to the point of making me feel alienated from the message she is putting across.

    So informative and helpful
I’ve only recently got into this podcast a few weeks ago whilst soul searching in food issues and my yo-yo dieting. I’ve been listening to a lot of back episodes and cannot say how much this has helped me to understand myself, that I’m not a failure...I’ve been set up to fail and bought into it like everyone else. I feel like I’m very much at the beginning of my journey but am focused and positive about what the future holds...especially one without dieting. Will definitely keep listening!!! Thank you Christy

    Such a gem!!
I have recently discovered podcasts and am now addicted. I love Christy’s topics including self compassion, body image acceptance, HAES and of course intuitive eating! Since listening I have purchased books on the subjects and I am well and truly on my way to healing my relationship with food and my body issues, as well as my binge eating disorder. Thank you for being so open and honest and for helping so many people around the world. You’re a superstar!! ^Paulina from the U.K

    Great content and inspiration
I have been struggling with purging bulimia nervosa for over 10 years now but only recently it has been getting very “out of hands” I have been trying to seek some professional help but in the meantime I’ve basically been binge-listening all available episodes of this show. It is great and have been giving me so much inspiration on how to make positive changes but most importantly it has given me HOPE that recovery is possible and that I don’t have to have such a difficult relationship with nutrition and myself. So thank you Christy for that. Sadly I’m not quite recovered enough to start intuitive eating as I’m still too afraid gain weight but it is slowly implementing positive messages and ideas in my brain. Thank you so much and please keep on making great content and changing peoples’ life.

    So healing
This podcast has been an amazing help in my eating disorder recovery. So much of the content has been relevant for me, and it has opened my mind to aspects of the ED trap that I'd never thought of which have propelled me further into recovery.

    Entertaining, fascinating and sane
I so enjoy listening to Christy and her guests talking about food and health. She has such a lovely, compassionate approach to health and body positivity; her conversations with her guests (and she gets great guests), never fail to include something that supports me, enlightens me or challenges old ways of thinking. I’m a relatively new listener so have many episodes to catch up on which is great for me!

    Excellent and inspiring
I've only recently discovered intuitive eating after suffering from a range of extremely disordered eating to the viscous binge restrict cycle. Listening to this podcast is helping me break away from the chains of my old thoughts and breathing new life into my future. Recommend to anyone and everyone!

    Informative, inspirational, life changing
As a person who has struggled with disordered eating all her life and someone who haS in the past 5 years become involved in the body acceptance/ HAES this podcast is just what I needed to take my journey to self acceptance and my journey to heal my relationship with food to the next level. Great guests some of whom I've known for years like Virgie tovar, and others who are broadening my horizons every episode. Excellent.

Started listening to Christie's podcast at the beginning of my recovery and have continued to rely upon her insightful and interesting interviews as a source of information and reassurance ever since. She is a brilliant host- the guests obviously feel comfortable around her and truly open up about their experiences. The value in hearing the experiences of others with eating disorders and those suffering from disordered eating, tips, anecdotes and scientific information has been invaluable to me. Thank you, Christie. Long may the podcast continue!

    Amazing
I've had a troubled relationship with food for as long as I can remember. I've always believed the problem was with me, recently I've discovered that this isn't the case and I'm now trying something different and new. This show is such an incredible resource to anyone exploring their relationship with food and with their body. The guests are well chosen and the interviews are so insightful and often very funny. I honestly wish I'd come across this podcast when it started.

    Worth sharing
I love, love this show. It has helped me tremendously and I'm now sharing it with my friend who is also struggling. However, both of us are now more open to share our struggles and make progress in order to fight this diet-obsessed society. Keep up the amazing job Christy! ❤️

    Thank you
So great to know that there is another way to relate to food which is not a diet.
  • Peaceful Eating
    Very valuable
Warm, funny, sensible, helpful, kind... those are the words that describe this approach to food and eating. Christy and her guests demystify the world of food, diets, thinness and fatness with love and humour

    Insightful, Entertaining and Educatiing
I really enjoy Christy's real-talk interveiws with her guests all about their relaitonships to food and how food has impacted their own life. I find it really helpful as I travel along my own journey with my relationship to food.
  • Skiddaw8
    Sensible and balanced
I've been listening to a few food/nutrition/exercise podcasts and this is definitely one of the most sensible and balanced I've listened. It's great to be reminded that food doesn't have to completely dominate everything. Also a wide range of issues covered and really sensitive and fun to listen to.
