    Politics and science?
I used to listen to this show because it was about science and entertainment, not politics. Unite us please … Don’t divide us more.

    Only half the picture
Every episode is both scientifically enlightening and completely frustrating. Dr Tyson completely ignores non-Western methodology and speaks in superlatives constantly. Thus every episode is filled with words like Always, Never, Can’t, etc while ignoring exceptions or even non-American ways of thinking about it. Latest Example: the Free Will episode spent over 30 minutes never defining Free Will as anything other than the Easter Bunny. NDGT just wanted affirmation of his own biases and his forgettable guest constantly confuses Determinism with Free Will. Later, Quantum Uncertainty is immediately dismissed because there were 20+ orders of magnitude necessary for a Quantum random flux to affect a single molecule while completely ignoring the near-statistical certainty that with as many atoms being involved and outside forces, there would be a Gordian Knot of random quantum dings. Religion, Theology, and anything Woo is mocked relentlessly by NDGT each episode and poor Lord Nice has to play along even though it’s obvious he’s far more spiritual than he lets on, yet NDGTs ego and overtalk nips any useful contribution Chuck could make as being a clown car. It is very much a shame. This used to be my favorite show and Dr Tyson and Chuck Nice are to be lauded for bringing science to the masses in a fun way, but it’s like being a parent and listening to non-parents explain child-rearing. It’s amusing, occasionally very accurate in theory and on paper, but completely ignores the state of flux that exists between observer and observed.

    So Disappointing
Wow. I’m a little taken back at how rude NDT is to his guests. He constantly talks over them, makes stupid jokes, side tracks the interviews, says and implies inappropriate remarks. His cohost is constantly redirecting and saving the interviews. It’s disrespectful to the guests and an embarrassing reflection of himself.

    AH HA!
Dr. Tyson you said something recently that blew my mind: "People come to this poscast for the comedy and the pop culture and hopefully stay for the science". Mind blowing because you are completely, absolutely dead wrong. I'm sure you are charmiing at a cocktail party but you are not funny enough to warrent a comedy podcast. And you have no pop culture references outside of your highly entertaining story about James Cameron's Titanic night sky blunder. We love your passion for science -not your forced laughs and lazy jokes. Listen again to the episode with Edwin Moses. You and Chuck interupt his interview with so many lame jokes and fake belly hoots that even Edwin got annoyed with you. I listen to Star Talk be inspired; to be enlightened. This is you expertise. Not comedy.

    It’s just okay
I sort of like this show: educational, hilarious, thought-provoking, awe-inspiring Wish Dr. Tyson was my physics teacher, then I would not have hated it. And it has the opening sequence best music, wish I could make it my ringtone The episode with Heather Berlin and her stereotypical and racist comments about India we’re disgusting you need to have better guests on your show who don’t make inflammatory comments

Great podcast, but where is GZA???
I love the show, but I am surprised that there are never any cameos from GZA of the Wu-Tang clan. An appearance from him once in awhile could potentially open the show to a whole new demographic. Great work!!

    Never Stop Asking Questions
Star Talk is nutritious, the show feeds my brain. Both Neil and Chuck are great educators who keep the listener in touch with current scientific thought on so many topics. I am grateful for their camaraderie, they make my ride home one of wonder and query.

    Cosmic Quiries
I am intrigued by black holes and the edge of the universe so I was so happy to find this show. Neil explains things for us that do not have degrees so we can follow the knowledge and Chuck is so funny. It is very entertaining and thought provoking.

    Left wing science
Fellow scientist here, Been a fan for decades up until now. It’s been building up lately and the grand finale was the co vid episode. Absolutely disgusting constant extreme left propaganda. Don’t listen to this podcast unless you are into extreme politics. Not for me

    Music and Science
Two things: First, DON’T lose the comic! Chuck is intelligent, well read, brings a perspective, and adds humor. Second, in the episode Unlocking Gene Therapy with Gaurav Shah there was a discussion about music and science. To add to that discussion, the marching band at the University of Michigan is made up mostly of engineering students with very few music majors. I suspect this is true with many college / university marching bands. Third, even though I said “two things”, I love Star Talk. And have for a long time, starting back when it was a TV program. Thank you (and Chuck) for the program.

Neil great - lose the comic
Can't figure out what Neil sees in this guy. Waste of air time but I put up with his usually idiotic comments to hear Neil's info.

    Great Will Harris Epizode
Great episode with Will Harris. Lots of good pointers on the environment about sustainable farming. Equally important are the health benefits and impact on wellness in general. Will be great to invite experts who can talk about wellness impact in detail and why sustainable farming (100% organic, biodynamic, agroforestry, regenerative) is a way to go forward.

    Love the Show
Love everything about the show. Neil is a great host funny, witty, and charming all at the same time. He invites guests that are the tops in their field to the show. They discuss issues in their areas of expertise. I listen to the podcast when I’m working out at the gym. I’m loving the science in a way I can understand. Great show!

Neil serves up Pop Culture Astronomy in sixth gear!
Hold onto your butt! Get ready to learn and get Neal’s unique perspective on astronomy and his application of philosophy to our space in the universe. Neil’s view of the universe, our galaxy and solar system relative to our existence as a species is utterly fascinating. If you like science then tune in to nerd out with Neil and his band of authentic astronomy enthusiasts!

    irritating conversation
I initially started listening to this podcast because of my interest in science and astronomy. Unfortunately, 50% of it is devoted to giggling and laughter for no reason.

    Greedy
48 minute podcast with 13 mins of commercials. Could this be more of a cash grab? Not to mention the constant bashing of white people. I’m done with this racist garbage.
  • Drag0n Guardian
    Could be better
Could be much better if it was just him or with another scientist, like Bill Nye. Beyond annoying to have the call ins and she interrupts, give incorrect answers, insults and belittle half of the ones that call in. If I wanted to hear terrible comedy, would of looked for that on YouTube… The best episodes are ones with random guest hosts.

    StarTalk
One of my favorite podcasts. Informative and entertaining. Dark matter is evidence of the black hole that we live in. That’s why we have the Mandela Effect. We are just info on the surface of said black hole in an endless loop. Thius, simulation theory.

    Dedicated listener
Star Talk is absolutely amazing I have listened to 792 episodes of Star talk and I have learned so much it’s honestly astounding. If your looking to learn in a effective way you should listen to Star Talk.
  • Kjenne71
I’ve been trying to like it
The concept is great, but the talking over each other and jocularity is just too much. Too loud, too irreverent, not enough solid discussion with the guests. It would be an excellent show just being relaxed and fun - but without all the chaos and hijinks.

    Chuck
Been listening for years and used to love these episodes. NDT does interrupt too much and often gets sidetracked - even more so now than he used to. But, I have to draw the line at Chuck Nice. He’s in practically every episode now and the cringey interjections are just unbearable.
  • Platypusoppossum
Nerdy in the best of ways
Well written, well performed, and witty. I will just say the “indigenous science” episode was… a little bit painful to listen to, Neil was acting a bit culturally clueless
  • mchaky
    Could use a female perspective
I enjoy the content - it’s presented in an enjoyable way especially with Chuck Nice as a co-podcaster. But I can’t help but notice the lack of a female perspective in every podcast. Sometimes the male bias is enough to make me stop listening for the day. And in the last instance, I stayed away for a year. There are sooo many amazing female scientists that could join the convos! Please consider doing this for future podcasts - I think your listener base will grow.

    Favorite science podcast
The podcast is very very fascinating and informative, and I would recommend it to anyone who even remotely likes science. I really enjoyed the metaphysics episode, so I would enjoy more of those. STARS!!!!!!!!!! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • jmastyfl
    Natalie Starkey done a disservice.
One of my first listenings was Natalie and the science of water in the solar system. Great episode. Got me interested in Star-talk. Latest with Natalie concerned OSIRIS REX. Neal acted like he never heard of it asking mundane questions barely suited for sixth grade science class. I, for one have been interested in this program since its launch in 2016, and have followed the mission for the last 7 years. Where were you, Neal, during this time? Oh yea, boring us with the “pop culture” political crap.

    Annoying and Woke
I tried this podcast because I am genuinely interested in space. It is often painful to listen to at times with unserious annoying banter, the pompous attitude from Ndt, and the all around wokeness propagated throughout.
