I hate podcasts but I love this one and that is saying something

Don’t let the math scare you away. Sum of all parts is wonderfully entertaining for all audiences and shows the endless way that numbers in all their forms infiltrate our lives: from music to phone numbers to the metric system.

Definitely enjoy the episodes that Joel produces himself as SOAP but he also just takes episodes of other podcasts to fill out his seasons which I’m not too keen on. While I definitely appreciate the recommendations for those episodes, I want to listen to Joel’s Sum of All Parts rather than a random episode of someone else’s podcast. That’s my two cents.

I’m super into niche trivia and coming at it from a numbers angle is fascinating!

As someone who doesn’t know much about mathematics but wants to learn more, I feel like Sum of All Parts stands out sharply from the dearth of relevant, intelligible (for the uninitiated) math podcasts. I’m trying to get less dumb, and this show has been a great perspective on the world in the language of numbers. Keep up the good work, guys! PS: And keep it mathy. I like the challenge 😁

I have only just discovered this and am already saddened to know it ended in 2018. It’s excellent.

Interesting topics covered in a quirky style

Such a great idea for a show, and Joel is a fun and engaging host!

I love any show that really nerds out on a specific topic and makes it interesting through stories and journalism. Sum of All parts does exactly that for math, a subject full of interesting stories just waiting to be told.

We want more episodes. Each one has been a gem. Please, more! Just like the first ones. MORE!

I love every episode so far!! Great podcast. Discovered SOAP from 99pi Half Measure ep. Bing listening to every episode and they’re all excellent!! I’m especially in love with The Infinite God episode, sooo good!

New show but off to a great start.

These math stories are great! I love the pacing and the excitement of the host and the people he’s interviewing.

The format of this podcast is great, each story is very different and interesting with a common thread of talking about numbers. The host does a great job of bringing us through the stories and explaining complex ideas in simple terms.

I found a new favourite podcast! This didn't disappoint. Really worth a listen for anyone who likes interesting stories and anecdotes with the perfect mix of everyday pop culture and science trivia. Easily digestible. Quality production. Lively banter. But overall just a great bunch of stories so far.

So far this show has been very good! The host and stories are very interesting and the use of math to tell these stories is well done. My only issue with the show is that the sound editing can be a bit chaotic and distracting at times. Overall great though!
