ChongoooopPretty solidIt’s a great podcast if you’re interested in the lore of 40 K, and you’re too lazy to read the books like myself. They get sidetracked all the time. It’s pretty funny. I wonder if Mark and Kevin ever come to blows lol. Hope they left their mics on if it ever happens. I’m on episode 26 lol.

<_Jake_>The bastions of a problematic communityThese guys really know the lore, and the discussion format can be more informative than some other lore content like YouTube. The lore discussions are informative and they always have someone in the group not as familiar with the topic to help guide the discussion in a beginner friendly manner. HOWEVER, the 40K community has a known issue with extreme far-right members making themselves known. There’s been plenty of scandals about it in the past and Games Workshop has had to come out and condemn it multiple times. This type of game and this type of lore can attract a certain type of person. Obviously not all or even most of the community is like this but it is a significant enough problem that it can deter new people coming to the community. Unfortunately this podcast embodies and vocalizes some of these problematic and antiquated views. This podcasts contains homophobic slurs that if I directly quoted, would result in this comment getting taken down for hate speech. The hosts will (to their credit) disparage genocide, but in the same breath say feminism is just as bad if not worse. I understand to them this might be “edgy” humour but the consistency and earnestness this is conveyed contradicts this. The hosts will repeatedly degrade women and their rights for either a cheap joke or in several occasions, derail the conversation just to let their views be known. The podcast also presents consistent anti trans views, which while not protected by TOS is still something for potential listeners to be aware of. As someone who has many more conservative friends I had thought it’ll just be some light ignorance going on as I had heard these guys could be abhorrent but the consistency and level of vitriole thrown at women, the queer community, and rights organizations was just too much for me to get through. TLDR: This podcast repeatedly makes clear that the hosts do not believe this community should be a safe place for the queer community, (particularly trans people) and women. This is sometimes hidden in jokes attempting to be edgy but other times is just outright stated as truths. The hosts show no improvement as the episodes progress and if you’re genuinely curious about the lore of the universe there are better, more welcoming resources on YouTube and wahapedia.

Nonicknameavailable lolAmazingLove the fellas. Amazing podcast and funny hosts 🙂

BradyboonHilarious trip through the weedsAs somebody who’s never played 40k but wants to learn the lore. These guys are awesome, they go through the lore (mostly) with some wild tangents that go on too long but are still a pleasure to listen to. Keep up the good work guys! 👍

Riccardo Carminati GalliGue’la blind by the weak emperorGreat podcast, a bunch of Gue’la that got brain watch by the savage imperium just waiting to get bring in the rightful path of the Tau’va. They are funny and share a lot of very good Warhammer 40K knowledge in a internet way.
-
Arcade OwlWanted to like itBut there’s zero structure. They drop some slurs. Bad views on women. Just generally feels like edgy teens.

Northwest territories listenerReviewFirst things first. Absolutely great podcast. It’s funny to listen to, and unlike so many other lore related podcast and media (not wh40k specific) it’s not dry content. It keeps you hooked in even when on semi boring topics. The discussions are so enjoyable. Don’t listen to this is your easily offended though

Kyleen delparteHomophobic?I was enjoying the podcast until they said f*g on multiple occasions. They also use the word gay in a negative connotation. In this day & age we can do better, I’m really disappointed.

GooszerAlberta, Canada listenerGreat show. New to the hobby and this gives a lot of in-site into not each race, but how they interact with each other.

Turkish113Alberta Canada Represent! 👍🏼I had been listening to these guys for a while and recently rediscovered them after running out of content I was interested in on YouTube. I forgot how funny and knowledgeable these were. It’s been a daily companion for 2 weeks straight now as I am a full time miniature painter. It’s great they are only a few hours away (I’m in Edmonton 🇨🇦)

vernel000001Poor contentIt’s clear these guys really like the lore but their structure, planning and delivery is utter garbage. They don’t even seem to know what their talking about sometimes. It really seems like their just reading off of the wiki as whenever one of them ask a question the member presenting the lore almost always says he doesn’t know. I would say I hope it gets better but their past episode 70 at this point so I really doubt it.

Derek FentanylAwesomeHanging out with the nerdy warhammer friends I never had.

AKanshawGood overallGood podcast to learn about Warhammer for someone new, some episodes leave you lost sometimes due to poor to no planning or making mistakes and correcting them over and over which gets annoying, immediately referencing something and assuming we know about it. Biggest con is when someone is married to a theory based on a hypothesis leaving the listener lost unless you know the lore, in other words these guys seem to forget about the listeners perspective. With that being said I’m still at episode 7 so I’m hoping it gets better or more structured/organized.

monster legends devOkThis is the best warhammer podcast

Slann-manGreat show!!!I love all of the episodes and think you guys are doing a great job! I have been listening for a good few months now and am loving it! I disagree with people, when they say how terrible it is when you guys get a minor detail wrong, I just move on and keep listening to what is, in my opinion, the absolute funniest podcast on Warhammer 40k! Keep up the great work!
-
CindaerGreat PodcastStarted listening from number 1. Just fantastic, between humorous derailments off topic to in depth discussions of 40k lore itself, these guys keep me entertained while hobbying or driving. Also.... who invited neckbeard grumpypants with the 1 star rating? They straight up say they don’t know everything. Its about the discussion of lore topics.
-
780DannyInsubstantialClearly a bunch of guys who just enjoy the lore, but no one is really versed in it. Most statements are overly vague (“I think I read somewhere...”) and it’s clear that the hosts aren’t really prepared. Pronunciation is horrendous and so is general understandings of how related topics work. The episode on the Astra Militarum showcases how the hosts knew almost nothing on military structure and how they were too lazy to brush up before trying to explain it to listeners. I know it’s a fictional universe, but damn guys, don’t go ahead and use the awesome name Lorehammer if you’re just gonna wing it like this. 1/5

ComradeMacKGreat intro into 40kI’ve been interested in Warhammer 40k for a while, and about 8 months ago I took the plunge and bought the Dark Imperium starter set. I’ve greatly enjoyed listening to this podcast while working on the starter set. Lore Hammer does a great job to introducing the lore to newcomers. Each episode focuses on one aspect of the universe. The episodes are arranged in a way to establish the basics first and to then build on them in subsequent episodes. Thank you very much!

RobCcruisMark can be bought? How much would it take to get you to put the Space Wolves on the short list? AND how much more would it take to get Mark to get over the dumb wolves aspect and talk about all the unique pieces of lore. Not broken into chapters, Space Vikings, Werewolves? Go team Jacob! There I said it.... Great Podcast but need more Eric touching guests.

OneWhoLaughsWonderful podcastI love the lore of Warhammer 40k, death and destruction literally everywhere. That's all I want or care about in lore. I've never played tabletop Warhammer..but I've wanted to know everything about the lore...also second only to lexicannum. All opposition is herasey.

40K RyanA Great 40k ShowHaven’t played 40k in years, but have always loved the books and lore. This show has definitely rekindled my interest in 40k. Be careful though - don’t listen to this show in a small public place. Their random banter made me laugh so loud on an airplane that people beside me must’ve thought I was a retard.
-
ManwitnonameEntertainingA top pick if you enjoy learning about the fluff of the 40k universe. Good discussions and witty banter makes for entertaining episodes.
-
LittalninjaGreatPretty funny and entertaining. Good info too. Will keep listening as long as they are putting out new stuff.

FlurrithOne of the greatsLorehammer unpacks the indignities and horror of the 40k universe with an everyday humour where you can just as easily imagine that you’ve been possessed by a chaos demon — only to discover that this is their first time. Inviting, entertaining, and educational, it’s one of the rare Warhammer podcasts that actively considers the new listener experience while having fresh takes that veterans can latch onto. The story-first format is a welcome departure from the bloated hobby progress / battle reports of other shows, and the occasional challenge between hosts gives the show some excellent chemistry.
-
soultaker918Great listen! The commentary is funny, and the content is decent. They sound really genuine and I like that they don't claim to know everything.
-
Ethos11Great Podcast! If your looking for some great information on 40k, or are wondering about what 40k is all about? This podcast is great! Check it out!
