anything goes with emma chamberlain

60,382

emma prefers to share her thoughts with a microphone rather than a physical human being, so thank god she has a podcast. recorded from the comfort of her bed...and some other fun places, emma talks at length about whatever is on her mind every week. anything really does go on this podcast. sometimes philosophy, sometimes a random story from 10 years ago, sometimes advice, sometimes fun interviews, and sometimes nothing at all. you never know what you are going to get, but that’s what keeps it interesting. new episodes every thursday and sunday, video available only on spotify.

The only podcast i tune into
This is seriously the only podcast I regularly tune into. I love all the topics you explore, I recommend this podcast to everyone (but most people I know already listen). I would love if you did an episode with an environmentalist and explored topics like how nature improves mental health, or climate change <3 thank you for this podcast Emma!!

    Love
I have anxiety and listening to someone who also has anxiety feels really comforting and makes me feel like I’m not alone. I also really like how many episodes she has because since I haven’t watched so many I will pretty much always have an episode even if she hasn’t uploaded yet. Definitely recommend.

Love Emma and her podcasts, but
Love this podcast, but I’ve noticed that I started skipping episodes with guests, because I feel like nowadays everyone wants to teach you something, speak about social problems. This podcast was my safe space from all this overwhelming staff. I could just listen to Emma and feel like I’m listening my friends’ stories.

    Constant Panic
Hi Emma, I’m a big fan and fellow person with anxiety. I related almost word for word to your episode titled “Constant Panic”. I don’t usually write reviews or anything but I wanted to share something that has improved my anxiety probably 80%. And it’s probably not something that would be easy, and maybe it only makes a difference for me, but cutting out (or significantly decreasing the intake of) caffeine has changed my life. My anxiety and general well being has improved drastically. I know you own a coffee company and I know how much you love your coffee/matcha, but it’s worth seeing what a reduction or taking a break can do. My friend who was a caffeine queen also had to recently stop drinking coffee because she was getting “caffeine induced dissociation”, which sounds kind of like what you were describing. I’m no doctor and maybe it wouldn’t help you at all. But if it does help then that’s great! I love your podcast and how down to earth you are. You really remind me of me and it’s comforting. Thank you!!!

hi emma i love you; please read 💕
Lately i’ve been constantly watching emma’s content and listening to these podcast to the point it’s become a daily routine. Saying that, I just really wanted to say how much I appreciate emma as a person. I feel like emma is the type of person I just crave to be friends with, she’s very beautiful inside and out, very intelligent, very funny, relatable and I believe she carries a lot of wisdom that I look up to. Listening to her podcast has really made me think about things I normally wouldn’t and makes me feel heard especially at points when I think that’s impossible, I always feel at peace whenever I’m listening to her and she really helps set my mood which is almost always positive. And to be honest listening to her has honestly made me feel like I’m growing mentally in a good way and I feel like i’m getting someone more knowledgeable. emma has helped me set many healthy goals and habits throughout my daily lifestyle. Anyways I really just wanted to share how I felt as emma has impacted me so positively and I really hope she reads this and feels proud of her accomplishments and how much she’s helped others so so much. We love you so much emma and we’re so thankful that we have someone like you to rely on and look up to as a figure in our life. We love you so much emma.💕

    Brings me peace (I’m fifteen)
Emma does such a great job!!! Whenever I feel stressed or upset in anyway, I just listen to her talk. It restores peace and confidence like a charm. Emma helped me have a different attitude towards myself, and I genuinely think this podcast is therapy. Thank you, Emma! You’re awesome!

Hi, loved the last episode about the “scariest night of my life” story that Emma told. I love listening to her solo episodes where she tells stories, her perspective or advice. I find her really funny as well. Thank you!

    Relatable and comforting
So relatable, can’t wait till you hit 30, it’s like listening to myself in my 20s and how long I’ve passed, especially being a Gemini, try not to be harsh on yourself and keep the spontaneous “so what” approach

    Worth the hype 💪
Okay im still on the early episodes of this podcast(mid 2021😭) but i love this podcast sooo much! I love it when you talk about listening to podcasts when your alone to feel like you have a friend in the room, because that’s exactly how i feel about Anything Goes and your online personality 💕 I adore this podcast and I think you’re awesome 😎 I’m always telling my friends how much I love the podcast and hearing your thoughts on life. I feel understood listening to this podcast and I think podcasting is something you’re very good at 😁 As a teenage girl I really appreciate how much I can resonate with Anything Goes. All I can really say is, thank you!!!!! Listening to your podcast has helped me in so many ways, I really appreciate it 💜

    Not it anymore
This used to be my favorite show but had to unsubscribe this year… it’s not funny anymore and the vibe is now pseudo-serious about topics that she doesn’t fully understand. I really appreciate the old content where this podcast stood out as unique & super entertaining but I’m not getting anything from this anymore. Like if I want to listen to an interview, I’d go somewhere else.

    A friend 🫶🏼
Every time I listen to this podcast I feel like I’m on a phone call with my best friend. Everyone saying that she’s all over the place… I don’t think it’s supposed to be professional. It’s a girl in her twenties talking to us about her life. And I don’t know how much u can criticize that. I’m the same age as Emma and I started watching her YouTube videos when she was with the Dote Girls. We grew up together (I know that sounds weird) but in all seriousness, it’s so refreshing that even though she is living such a different life than me as a celebrity.. as a girl growing in her twenties, we still have so many overlaps and similarities in what we experience. Trust me, I understand the whole opinion many of us have that “she’s changed, I miss her old YouTube videos” I get it. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of her newer videos. But guys come on! THIS?? This is literally the old Emma videos without the video part. When she would just talk to us through a camera, now she’s talking through a microphone. Consensus: I’m so proud of Emma. I feel like I know her so much more through this podcast.

    why so much hate?
i feel like this a good podcast for younger listeners 22 and younger. Obviously Emma isn’t educated on everything, she’s just sharing her perspective (the whole point of the podcast). if you don’t agree or like it, don’t listen… i really enjoy hearing what she has to say and i hope the hate doesn’t get to her. i’m the same age as her and i’m also figuring things out, i appreciate her sharing.

I just recently started listening to Emma and I love her!! Her podcast topics are very updated in my life, and her voice is soft and well spoken. I recommend her to all of my fellow “it girls”.

    It’s really not good
I love Emma and her videos but the podcast is vapid and shallow. She just isn’t saying anything interesting and it’s all over the place. It is giving the thoughts of an only child.

    Favorite podcast
I love how Emma tackles every subject she goes into and leans into the fact that’s she’s not an expert but does research and is learning and figuring it out. Honestly one of the few podcasts I will keep up with because I find it hard to stay engaged or enjoying a hosts voice but Emma is great in both categories

My honest opinion (just an opinion)
I’ve been watching Emma and listening to her podcasts for about 4 years now. When I was a teenager, I found her so relatable and so nice to listen to. I still think she’s well spoken and intelligent and a great person. However, I have noticed some really significant things in her recent podcasts that have made me a little less keen to listen to her. Her podcasts tend to repeat themselves over and over throughout the episode. Because she doesn’t have an in depth background in certain topics, a Google dive and personal experience don’t always make for a complete episode and instead leave an episode feeling repetitive and/or rudimentary. And of course, everyone is also (harshly) saying she needs to go to college and I can definitely hear how certain things have become very out of touch. The episodes “growing up too fast” and is “romantic love an illusion” really emphasised how out of touch she can be at times. Her opinions and experiences are her own and valid, yes, but a lot of what she says sounds like she came to that conclusion without any kind of real/educated input from other people. Saying romantic love is illusion obviously comes from her own experience but that’s a bold statement and one that, if she received appropriate input or even discussed that in an academic setting, most people would absolutely disagree with. Even simply getting a second, expert opinion would have completely elevated her viewpoint and made it more cohesive. I do agree that I think her level of awareness and growth kind of comes from this echo chamber of her family and close friends and no one else because she doesn’t have a space where she can discuss those things otherwise (like a university). That is to say, calling her stunted is overly harsh, but I think her views reflect a privileged circumstance and that’s reinforced by an echo chamber of people who often share a degree of that privilege. OVERALL, I certainly wouldn’t say she’s stunted, uneducated, or unintelligent. I think her podcast just reflects her personal circumstances that, yes, are privileged, very unique, and at times out of touch and sometimes they could do with an expert/academic perspective.

    Everyone was right
Everyone was so right about this podcast, it’s so shallow and borderline braindead. I feel bad that her guests are outgrowing her and she’s stuck with the self awareness of a middle schooler who just googled “philosophy” for the first time. I know she is insecure and I wish her the best. I think she needs some time to find herself and learn about life. Two stars ⭐️⭐️ because I hope she gets better.

    LIVING IN FEAR
Emma you’re episode about living in fear is so real and relatable. i was recently diagnosed with anxiety and my parents think the biggest cause is school and it was so hard to try to explain to my parents the reason i cant sleep at night is because i’m living in constant fear for my life. this is such a hard thing to speak up about and it touched my heart that you decided to make an episode about it ur a queen!!!
  • Ryleigh Elizabeth
    Appreciative
Emma, please do not let this wave of hate discourage you from continuing the format of the podcast. There are many people (myself included) who appreciate & relate to your thought processes. I enjoy the way you analyze topics, and consider it to be well thought out & organized. Keep going, you’re doing amazing.
  • Lili_____
    Constructive criticism
Emma we all love you, but some topics need more than just a basic google search especially if u plan to discuss it for an entire episode. Someone mentioned the history of superstition in another review and I totally agree. Please do thorough research if you’re going to hand out information on heavier topics!
  • elsaaaannajj
    A good podcast but…
I really enjoy listening to this podcast, but i feel like emma goes around in circles about what she talks about. Also shes acting like she is not as famous as she actually is. Didnt she just attend kendall jenners halloween party? I dont think ive ever heard her mention her privileges (correct if im wrong)

young women - this isn’t a person you should listen to
    deeply emotionally stunted person.
  • fendyfrick
    go to college
she likes to say ‘i read all the reviews’ (i don’t remember the last time she said that) but i doubt she’ll see this. she has great baseline ideas, but is so stunted by her privilege and lack of collegiate experience has obviously jaded her views on many important topics. the superstition episode? superstition is usually based off of rich history of oral stories that have been passed down generation from generation, and a lot of the times come from ethnic cultures that have been stripped down to their bare bones and appropriated. having faith and a central belief system doesn’t make you stupid, it means you’re willing to be brave enough to believe in the unknown. grow up and audit an anthropology class.
