    I like it but…
I really like when she gets to the point. Currently listening to #160 and it took like 35 min of ads and her talking about a completely unrelated topic to get to the point of the actual episode. Kinda hard to process her message with all of the jargon in between.

    So grateful
I am so grateful for your strength and determination to get out of your relationship and have the courage to share it here exactly as you have. I feel so seen. Thank you for helping me heal.

    Here’s the beef!
So many podcasts and self help books just scratch the surface. Not this one! The host is very intentional about getting to the root and going DEEP. Thank you, Shena!!! I find myself listening to certain episodes over and over again, just to hear someone finally say what I’ve been feeling all my life. Definitely recommend this podcast. Particularly for Black women who grew up in the church and were taught to repress their feelings in so many ways. The love avoidant and love deprivation discussions have been LIFE CHANGING and EYE OPENING. So grateful for this resource. UPDATE: Unfortunately, I had to downgrade my rating. I can’t take the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) ads anymore. At first I thought they were just a fluke or mistake by the producer, but I kept hearing them in each episode and they are so jarring to my soul and spirit. I wrote Sheena and I have yet to hear from her… yet the ads continue. I have undocumented friends. Their lives matter. And the horrors that they and their loved ones continue to experience, especially here in Texas at the hands of these modern day “slave catchers” is unfathomable. But go off. In honor of my loved ones, I can no longer support a show funded by the dang U.S. CBP.

    Phenomenal
For those of us who can’t figure out “what’s wrong”. Shena gives voice to what is not working and offers relatable solutions with grace. She is a gifted healer and content is well put together. Not to detract, I can’t help but notice that some content creators come off a little callous when talking about ending contact with family and other relations. A She is most mindful, balanced and realistic while giving (tough) love.

    Hit Me Hard!
My sister passed this episode on to me, although I don’t have any lit kids. I understand why she sent it! This episode hit me so HARD, I could not breathe (literally)! I have a yo-yo husband; I feel like I’m on a rollercoaster sometimes. His emotions are like woo whee & sometimes I feel like he love me but don’t like me! I just want to thank @_Jasminechanelle for sharing her story! God blessings be w/you and your kids and your ex 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😇

Therapy in the form of a podcast
I know podcasts do not replace traditional therapy but I have learned so much about myself since I’ve started listening. In the very first few podcasts, I learned exactly why I am the way that I am. Particularly the episodes on love avoidant/addict personalities meant a lot. It kinda helped me pinpoint exactly where in life I went into self preservation mode. This podcast gave me the push to seek therapy to unpack and heal. Thank you so much.

    Epi #189
I just listened to the Mother Enmeshed Man episode #189 and was floored. All this time I was seeing the signs of this in my relationship and didn’t know what it was. Thank you for explaining what it is and being gentle to the mom’s who want to change.

    Forever grateful
I found BGH about a year ago when I was in a really low place, and I have since become an avid listener and a much more healed black girl. I even lucked up to find my therapist through the podcast’s resources. What I really love about BGH, is the depth Sheena goes into different familial and romantic relationship topics. The episodes are always packaged in love, grace and tactful realness, which are all thoroughly appreciated. This show is hands down UNMATCHED. I’m learning so much and try to share with everyone I can. Thank you so much Sheena!

    WOW!!! Literally God Sent.
I started my healing journey end of last year after going through it all and finallyyy wanting to heal and let go, my therapist recommended podcast instead of certain music while driving or if I didn’t want to read. Each episode there is a Lesson even if you have not went through it its still something to be aware or something to learn from. At the most recent episode I am listening to “Dealing with Betrayal …” I just had to pause and right a review and say THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I listen so some episodes over and over so that it resonates or just so that I can affirm what resonates.. You are the best Shena -Forever Listener

    Amazing!
I absolutely love this podcast. I’m at a different season in my journey and this podcast has really opened up a lot of things I would’ve never been able to work through and process on my own being that I didn’t know where to start. I listen while I’m getting ready for work, after meditation, or even on a drive in the car.

    Shena is my therapist
I don’t care what anyone says, Shena is my one & only therapist at the moment. No, we have never meet lol. But I feel so close to her & understood. She Is everything. I have been listening to her for almost a year and I’m so glad I came across her. She is the only podcast I keep up with because of how much she helps me and has helped me in the past. I can’t wait to follow her into whatever she does next. Im excited for her. She deserves everything she has built. Im so proud of her. Thank you Shena.

    Healing from Sex/Love Addiction
I have to note this is the first time I’ve ever reviewed a podcast, but I feel obligated after everything I’ve received from this podcast and its host. I’ve yet to hear anyone else speak about self-love and relationships and healing in such a way as is done here. Thank you for creating this.

Tuesday, October 4th’s Episode is a Gold!
I am woman in her early 30’s who has been in several serious relationships. Now that I realize that this is because of love addiction it is making me change all my ways. And I am so very grateful because with Sheena’s help now I don’t have to be confused about why things didn’t work out for me. Applying the experience from this episode is going to help me spot my negative patterns when becoming attracted to someone. It is also going to help me stop getting into and out of relationships that are not right for me. Thank you Sheena for Black Girls Heal.

    The truth
This program offers something others don’t.The way she uses the language to describe love addiction and love bombing is so clear and unmatched; I co-sign; this woman knows her stuff! She’s a therapist’s therapist. And that’s saying a lot.
