How's Work? with Esther Perel

426

This season on How's Work?, iconic couples therapist Esther Perel focuses on the hard conversations we're afraid to have in our jobs: Colleagues navigating the new etiquette of a work from home workforce. Newsrooms whose journalists feel that covering breaking news has broken them. A doctor who wants to walk away from his profession, during a pandemic. And lobbyists whose fight for racial equality ends up dividing them. Esther Perel brings a new perspective to the invisible forces that shape workplace dynamics, connections, and conflict through one-time therapy sessions with coworkers, cofounders, and colleagues—listen and learn as you hear your own workplace dilemmas play out in the lives of others.

    Love her whole vibe
It’s rare to find people that can speak to any generation without tailoring the message. Esther does this seamlessly throughout her videos and podcasts. So happy to have found her.

Love Esther Perel; Adam Grant episode not so much
The series is wonderful. Word of warning: The episode with Adam Grant is very hard to listen to. He’s incredibly patronizing and pompous throughout the conversation. She’s relentlessly human throughout.

    So relevant
The connections to past etc. brought about a lot of “ah-ha” moments. Thanks so much for this 🙏🏽👏🏽

    This podcast is amazing!

    Esther amazing as usual but...
The episode with Adam Grant was difficult to listen to, he clearly had this agenda that he wanted Esther to fuel without acknowledging the trained complexity of her thinking on human behavior. At times he was borderline patronizing to her, mansplaining, ugh, couldn’t finish that episode! I mean who asks, “who has more power right now?” Great pod but skip that one.

    Excellent!
I absolutely love This podcast (as well as ‘Where Shall we Begin?’) she is changing how people think about counseling, therapy, etc... which is great becuade as far as I am concerned because WE ALL NEED IT! If you walk the face of this earth then it would behoove one to say that they wouldn’t benefit from therapy. ‘How’s Work?.,’ is raw & honest. Esthers skills, knowledge & insight is profound, powerful and inspiring. She is intelligent and humble. I enjoy listening to anything with Esther to be honest lol! I value what she says and am pleasantly surprised at her willingness to set aside her own ego & reflect back on the session to make it know what she could have said differently etc... which is oh so very important. I have a lot of respect for someone who can reflect on their own words with honesty & integrity. She is a deep thinker and has taken this profession to places that it has never gone. My husband and I have been able to listen to these podcasts & apply what we have learned from her & use it in our relationship — and THAT should speak volumes... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PODCAST AND ALL OTHERS BY HER AS WELL. !!!👏🏼👍🏼❤️

    Very Helpful!
I’ve been in pattern for the last 7 or 8 years of finding a job, being miserable in it, and leaving to find another. This podcast speaks to me on many levels, especially the first episode. I haven’t found myself in a place in my career where I’m so successful that I’m bored, so not every episode has been directly relevant, but most of the underlying themes are so relatable.
