OMG. Almost 15 minutes on Roman Polanski and the legal issue. Contrary to what they say, Polanski re-wrote the screenplay. Towne’s script was not useable. The hosts should’ve read Sam Wasson’s very good biography of the film, “The Big Goodbye.” It tells a story at odds with what they say. Too many gratuitous F bombs. Crude.

I truly love this podcast. I understand why you’re not making new episodes, but just want y’all to know how much fun it was to listen to. It was short but sweet. 💕

Love the concept, adored it in reality! Who doesn’t love showing their favorite films to their loved ones? And their banter is so natural and charming! I’m hooked!

I love this podcast and miss it dearly. Taylor and Sam’s banter is great and the movie recommendations are spot on.

I love Sam Morril, and loved Taylor’s Netflix special, so I gave this a shot. They have great, natural chemistry. The subject matter is light which is kinda great these days. Like many people I just need a break from the pandemic and this is a great way to forget about the worlds goings on for an hour. It’s even gotten me rewatching some old favorites, and trying some new movies. Check it out!

I truly enjoyed this podcast, especially because I love Tomlinson and her boyfriend turned out to be hilarious too. I love pop culture and film and this was just the perfect laughter I needed during the pandemic. It’s been a hot minute since they’ve posted an episode and I’ve seen she is touring so I hope it is that and it’s not that they broke up!

Edit to original review: I still fully endorse this pod, you should listen if you haven’t, but I wish they would just acknowledge that they broke up so we can stop hoping for more episodes. I wasn’t super familiar with either comedian so I wasn’t sure what I thought in the beginning... I let it marinate, now I’m on board. They’re both witty and clever in their own right, the show format is fun, and the topics are a deeply welcome break from reality. You can tell this is still a relatively new relationship because they politely laugh at each other’s jokes (see find your beach for an equally enjoyable but stark contrast in dynamic) but they really are fun to listen to. Taylor, 13 going on 30 absolutely does not hold up. Get it together.

This show is awesome, but it’s super annoying that they disappear for months at a time. It’s fine to take breaks but podcast etiquette is to post a 1 min episode just saying ‘hey we’ll be gone for awhile, this is when we’ll be back’. I don’t know if I should delete the feed from my phone or not and it drives me crazy.

Listen to this podcast. They say laughter is the best medicine, so I’m dosing you with Taylor and Sam!

I’m bad at words but to me it’s the Podcast equivalent of a YouTube reaction video except with depth and actual humor. I like both of these comedians very much. I’m a big fan of Sam Morril and Taylor Thomlinson ( Sam has three albums on Spotify and Taylor has a Netflix special “ My quarter life crisis” and is one of three hosts of the self helpless podcast) movie reviews are enjoyable but I’m sad Sam didn’t bring up the Soup joke Eddie Murphy does at the end of coming to America. Still Fun, good chemistry, and interesting takes on movies I grew up on.

The perfect quarantine listen, whether you’re watching old favorite movies by yourself or with a partner / friend / family member and remembering why they are important to you. Great comics sharing, not just their perspectives on these iconic films, but also interesting movie trivia. A little peak behind the curtain of where some of your favorite comics draw inspiration and sanity at this insane time. Content that will stand up in the post-COVID era. Can’t wait to see what movie they share next.

I’m so glad the podcast is back

I came to the party late for this podcast(July). Sought it out after listening to and loving “Quarter Century Crisis”. I had such a good time with Sam and Taylor, as they talked about their favorite movies. Their conversation is smart, witty, insightful, and very Funny. Taylor and Sam make you feel like you’re one of the cool kids and invited you to sit at the table in the cafeteria with them and talk about movies. It’s worth a listen even if you have no interest in their movie picks.

This podcast is delightful and hilarious. It’s gotten me through this pandemic and has inspired my partner and me to make our own list of movies we introduce each other to every weekend. It’s created so much joy during the worst time imaginable. It’s a pleasure to be along for the ride with Sam and Taylor. I miss the regular episodes and hope they return soon!

During some darker times for myself recently i have rather enjoyed listening to this podcast..I hope they will continue to make more..but its been a month now :(

Hey guys! I love listening to the podcast and all the fun facts about the making of these movies. It gives me a new sense of appreciation for them! I’m curious if either of you have seen Inside Man starring Denzel Washington and Clive Owen. I’d been curious to see if it would get good rating or not from you two. Also, my favorite chick flick is While You Were Sleeping if Taylor needs more movies that Sam has not seen 😆

Love listening to their ideas and then watching the movie. I have gotten so much more out of the movies doing this. Please make more episodes even if you get back to performing live.

I love their dynamics and how refreshingly easy their conversations are. I wish they would continue making them every week even after the quarantine is over.

I’ve listened to every available episode and I’m impatiently awaiting the next one! Sam and Taylor are so funny and super thoughtful in their critiques and commentary. I’m also often warmed by their respect and feelings for each other - and I’m a cynical, jaded single gal, so that is something! I absolutely love this podcast.

Two smart young comedians in a format that surprisingly draws out their honest personalities and thoughts more than any comedy routine. Why haven’t you heard this podcast?

Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello and now, Tomlinson and Morril. A podcast is the perfect vehicle for Sam (with a face made for radio). This couple give us a fresh, comedic look at some iconic movies. A great way to bring a smile into pandemic day.

I’m enjoying the fresh look into a lot of movies I have loved. I especially love the info on the production and casting of each film. Could I look it up? Yup. Am I gonna? Nope! So I love this. It’s very interesting to hear them break down the movies. Thanks for helping me get through quarantine chores with a chuckle, guys!

Never in my life have I been so invested in the relationship of two people I didn’t know. Aside from that little tidbit, I love this podcast and the banter between Taylor and Sam. The range of their picks is so broad and it’s been a lot of fun watching and listening along.

Taylor and Sam have unique chemistry as they check each other in regards to their taste and as the episode number grows so does their understanding of each other. It’s as simple a premise to work with and invites you to explore genres you might have presupposed as easily disposable. 13 going on 30, Thelma & Louise and Groundhogs Day are all really good episodes worth checking out and really good movies if you haven’t seen them!

Listened to one only so far — Thelma & Louise —and maybe it was the wrong one to listen to first. It was unfortunate to hear two intelligent young people be sort of initially flippant of a film that was a real first of its kind—an oasis in a desert, especially for cinephiles. It was a revelation for women, but by being a good f*%#* movie about women, NOT a feminist manifesto like you both were saying, essentially. It is not anti-man. It is anti-patriarchy. There’s a big difference. Get the nuance?? Give up on perpetuating the BS. Blech. It wasn’t the worst thing I’ve listened to but I just found myself rolling my eyes and being exasperated a lot. (Yesss Sam...Ridley Scott directed it !🤭 I guess that gives you permission to watch it, oooooo 🤭) PS please stop calling any movies “chick flicks” — I know what movies you’re referring to and most women I know don’t like those films. You know who likes those films you’re talking about (generally)? Grandparents over 60, elementary-age little girls and religious people who can only stomach PG movies. That phrase needs to expire FINALLY.

I really enjoy this podcast. It’s just pleasant. It’s too hard to find something you can simply enjoy, but this podcast accomplishes it. Sam & Taylor are two of my favorite comics and they’re really good together. It’s a very light & natural back & forth. I’ve been happy with the movie selections as well.

I’m new to listening to podcasts but have started with the quarantine. I just saw Taylor’s comedy special and loved it. I don’t know who Sam is, but will look you up. Sorry Sam! I like how you guys don’t act like you’re doing a stand up routine, and are just normal. You’re still funny though! Great ideas for movies to watch, even if I’ve seen them before while the pandemic is happening. I Hope you don’t stop when the quarantine is over. 🤗

As a 32 year old woman, I can confirm that “13 Going on 30” single hendedly made me excited about the day I’d be 30. #30flirtyandthriving was 100% on my 30th birthday post. And it still completely holds up today. This was my inaugural episode of This is Important to Me and I’m now a happy subscriber. Thanks for making my quarantine more tolerable!! P.S. JOHN WICK IS FRACKING MAGICAL!!!! My husband and I are obsessed (2 and 3 are better than the original IMO). We are constantly choosing them to watch. Give it a shot. :)

If there is a positive to Covid-19, other than the death of my incredibly racist neighbor, it’s the birth of this podcast. I really enjoy the reviews and conversations about each movie, and the chemistry between Sam & Taylor is fantastic. 2 GREAT comics (watch their specials for proof of that) reviewing old movies that one of them is watching for the first time is such a great premise, and I look forward to each episode

My favorite podcast of quarantine! I look forward to each episode and am watching the movies afterward if I have them available. I really enjoyed Sam’s standup when he was in town and am looking forward to seeing Taylor when comedy clubs open up again. I hope they keep this podcast going!

These guys are very very funny, but they also have great taste in movies. Such a simple premise for a podcast but executed perfectly. Brief segment in the beginning before they watch the film, then the bulk of it is them discussing it right after. I don’t give things five stars unless they are really good. This is a five star podcast.

I love Taylor and Sam they’re a great example of an awesome couple and they’re hilarious and insightful to boot. Also their voices are very calming! Sam - I hope you do voiceover! Taylor- thank you for the musical representation and laughs!

Great chemistry between these 2. I enjoy their banter and in depth commentary. Some of my my pre covid podcasts are too heavy or non topical for me to listen to right now, but this one hits a sweet spot. Thanks for keeping me entertained during quarantine and for providing me with a few good movie recommendations!
