    Grateful
I am grateful to Curtis & David for their thoughtful conversations. I am no longer affiliated with any church due to the volatility in my church at the current time. I have turned my faith inward because I did not feel supported in my church through a lot of personal loss & difficulties in my life. Add to that the “red blue paradigm “ and I no longer felt welcome. You have both given me hope. Long story short (too late) I just want to say thank you!

I’ve never felt less understood in my life by fellow Christians
As a conservative Christian go held my nose voting for trump and will likely abstain from voting in 2024, I’ve never felt less heard. It’s as if if you ever voted for trump you’re an idiot and don’t deserve to be heard. The lack of understanding for why people vote is astounding. I’ve got an economy degree and I won’t vote for a democrat bc of their inability to follow simple math and pandering to votes (ie more free stuff with the inability to pay it back) at least non trump representation from state and local do some efforts (or used to) to acknowledge the financial situation decades of democrat spending has lead to. Not everyone votes on cultur some educated people in finance sees a very dangerous writing on the wall and vote for sanity at the purse. How dare you all skim over people like me who care morally about our leaders but don’t feel that can’t be the only thing to consider (bc morality and politics has been gone for 50 years…or longer Biden is not a good man either). Abortion is a net evil. Transitioning kids is a net evil, Covid lockdowns were a net evil…like the only thing that is happening is two crazy candidates???? I feel completely left out of all political Christian circles, and this podcast was an insult

Provides such wise insight and needed hope
Curtis and David are thoughtful Christians who prioritize Jesus and Christlike conduct ahead of partisanship. I am so thankful for their thoughts on a wide range of topics, and their witness that not all Christians have bowed down to political interest above all else. I feel less alone when I listen.

Great for Biblical Perspectives on Issues!
Finally, there is a place to get that a Bibilcal perspective on issues without getting caught up in partisanship. I appreciate hearing the perspectives from different viewpoints. I also appreciate that it helps me be able to speak to others with Bible based comments and thoughts, and remove my own partisanship. I found this podcast recently (beginning of 2024) after reading The Kingdom, Power and Glory book by Tim Alberta. I am listening to both the current podcasts as well as starting back at the beginning. The topics from 2021 are still relevant and worth listening to! Thank you to Curtis and all for your vision and dedication to speaking truth. I am also starting the After Life study!

    Meaningful and thought provoking
Curtis and guests run the gambit from conservative to liberal Christian. The weekly message is always timely to current events. It is *NOT* a sermon from the pulpit. It’s always a thoughtful, reasoned discussion of Christ centered analysis regardless of your world view. But if you listen you cannot help but be forced to think.

    Thankful for some sanity
I am thankful for sane voices in this day and age. Thanks for doing this work

    lots of marketing distortion
He refused any discourse. no comments no feedback promote himself as expert. no contact is possible. he uses david french and refers to himself as “we”

    You have to listen
This podcast touches me in a number of ways. Curtis helps break down often complex topics/and or “simple” topics in a manner that gives a historical, personal, academic, intellectual, philosophical, theological background and exposition while also being digestible, tangible, accessible and often entertaining way. You won’t necessarily feel fullly satisfied with every topic but some issues as children of God, we need to wrestle with. Go ahead, listen to the latest or fish around and look through the past 100+ episodes and find one that looks interesting! I hope, like me, you will be touched in many ways

Really disappointed at the one sided treatment of the conflict in Gaza in a recent episode.
I am a regular listener and really like it most of the time. However, I am so disappointed in what was presented as a balanced view on the war in Gaza, but left out so much legitimate criticism of how it is being handled by Israel. If you want to present a balanced view, please get a Palestinian on the show, like Daniel Bannoura. Please don’t leave out quotes from Netanyahu stating that their goal is to limit humanitarian aid. Yes, I realise there is a “fog of war”, but I also know that Palestinian children are having limbs amputated without anaesthesia. I generally respect and often agree with David French, and have come to really respect Curtis Chang but this episode has made it hard to listen to any more. I have worked for almost a decade doing Humanitarian Aid work, and many years now providing support for others doing this work. I believe David’s evaluation is from a hard military viewpoint that ignores human life, and is giving great leniency to a regime that is very good at hiding behind hamas’s misbehaviour to cover its own. I just wonder what the prophets would say about the current Israeli regime. Please bring some balance back into the conversation.

February 2024 conversation with Andy Crouch, inspiring and hopeful.

    Hopeful and Human
Unlike many podcasts that engage politics, this one is hopeful, balanced and redemptive. It’s not a podcast I can easily share with my rural community because of the intellectual schema required to follow along (often but not always). The podcast helps me feel connected to other good, redemptive thinkers for culture and politics - so rare! And the vulnerability, appropriate to the conversation, keeps me feeling, “apart of the friends around the bonfire.” Thank you for the spirit in which you lead. Andy Crouch is my favorite guest!

    Enlightening & Thoightful
I have been listening to this podcast for awhile, and it is the first one that has engaged me well enough that I would take the time to review. Curtis Chang (sometimes with David French as “founding friend”) brings guests who discuss critically important and timely topics. Typically, both sides (or all sides) of a topic are presented, with thoughtful and insightful discussion, and I often leave with a desire to dig a little deeper into the topic. I appreciate that links are often provided for follow up reading. This is a podcast that leaves me wanting more and waiting for the next episode to drop. Keep up the good work!

    Good Faith Encourages Critical Thinking
I am greatly enriched by the many different guests speakers and topics on Good Faith. Many thanks to Curtis Chang and David French. Looking forward to many more conversations in 2024.

    A return to civility
Curtis & friends nourish the essential practice of talking through hard current topics with intelligence, kindness, and good listening, all through a deeply sincere and real faith in Jesus.

    Wolves in sheep’s clothing
Listening to these guys redefine the Bible and Jesus to their own liking gets sickening. Every now and then they make a comment that matters. But they are their own echo chamber.

    Always makes me think
This podcast is thought provoking and relevant. I appreciate its exploration of both sides of difficult topics and pointing to Jesus for the ultimate answers.

    Happy
I am happy to find this podcast I had no clue about until I started reading kingdom power and glory by Tim Alberta, I am not a religious person but I witness the religious people around me getting radicalized very scary, so glad to find you 🙏

    Critical Information
The most recent podcast with David French was very encouraging and helpful to me personally. The current times can be discouraging and even frightening; I needed the encouragement and uplifting these men provided.

So thankful for the discussions on this podcast! They give me hope and help me feel less alone as I navigate the world post 2016.

    Grateful
I’m truly grateful for Curtis and the show. In this polarizing world, the show helps me anchor my faith in Jesus when I grapple with events in the world. I’m also glad to see that there is a solid evangelical voice seeking to understand the role of Christian in public life. It’s my go to show every week.

Came for David, stayed for Curtis
I started listening to this when it was hosted by The Dispatch, a center-right news publication where David French worked. Pairing a center-left person (Curtis Chang) with a center-right person (French) struck me as a Dispatch kind of thing to do, and I enjoyed listening to their interaction. After French left The Dispatch to write for The NY Times, I wondered if I would stick with this podcast. But I did. The production quality stayed the same (high level) and it continued to address some interesting topics from the perspective of the Christian faith.

This podcast is like the balm of Gilded
There are three things that make this a go to for me. 1) the topics are relevant to the issues I face in my everyday life, 2) Curtis Chang the moderator has incredible insights that have many times helped me understand myself better, 3) the conversations are always respectful, intelligent, and well grounded in scripture. I love this podcast.

    Revelations Episode
The irony about this episode has to do with how it discusses and occasionally condemns others’ interpretations of Revelations. And yet, the discussion vaguely orbited the text, avoiding any direct references to specific passages or any discussion about how it fits/connects/completes the larger biblical narrative. I would also appreciate it, as would others, if the guest and host would make good-faith efforts to steel-man positions they disagree with… it would be more edifying for everyone. Otherwise we’re stuck in a bit of an echo chamber.

    Thank you
This week’s podcast on suffering with Kurt Thompson was thought provoking. As a rabbit trail/sidebar, this issue of suffering and being left alone or forgotten applies also to those of us who have gone over the 7th decade and are facing the “end” even though we may be in good health. Perhaps a future episode on aging well through uncertainty would be worth considering. Thanks.

    Explanations
Thank you for providing clarity. I like that you explain the buzz words and phrases. I don’t have to ask what does that mean because you explain things so clearly. I am learning more about the world and myself.

The Podcast with the Launch Capital guys, Michael Hall and Jimmy Wright was eyeopening and very encouraging. True innovation in the area of redemption.

    The Fetish of impact
The discussion with Andy Crouch was insightful and very useful for Christians trying to live as the Savior did. Long term influence involving love and friendship is going to have much more impact over time than short term strong force or violence carried out in an adversarial way.

Great combo of theology, sociology, and culture
Love the thoughtful dialogue with a wide variety of guests on Good Faith 2.0. Curtis brings an interesting combination of good question-asking and his own theological takes to the varied topics. Always gives me something to think about.

Challenging and engaging, a needed voice in the church
Good Faith has been an extremely helpful podcast to me, engaging in a wide variety of topics in a thoughtful and challenging way. I really appreciate the way discussions introduce new perspectives and cover sometimes controversial topics but always with humility and kindness. Keep up the good work, we need this type of voice in the church today!

    Always Relevant
I am a big fan of the Good Faith Podcast! I am continually impressed with the relevant topics, and the thought provoking faith centered conversations presented. Curtis consistently frames the content in a way that provides personal meaning. Keep them coming!

    Still loving Good Faith 2.0
The Curtis/David connection is magic, so I was a bit concerned when David transitioned to a monthly guest. While different, I’m loving the diversity of guests and Curtis is really defining his role as both interviewer and contributor. His insight blows me away and he apparently has an incredible list of “friends” who are great contributors. With David’s monthly appearances this feels a bit the best of both worlds. Keep it coming please.
  • bradinsj
    Insightful and encouraging
Good Faith is a unique offering that provides helpful frameworks for thinking about a wide variety of important topics - political and ethical. My perspective is broadened by the guests that are interviewed. And the host does an excellent job helping me grasp and navigate complex topics.

    Power of Storytelling
The episode on storytelling was a refreshing reminder of how we can form authentic connections with those around us. I plan to use the questions guide with family members to capture our story. Many thanks!

    Warmongering
Your podcast of Mar. 11, 2023 sounded like a bunch of twisted justifications and proof texting for the warmongering and profiteering that’s been accepted by humanity as “normal”, lo’ these thousands of years, not insignificantly because of people in supposedly “spiritual” leadership positions (YOU) parsing out “Biblical” reasons to ignore Jesus’ obvious, abundantly clear message of love of enemy and nonviolent resistance in the face of evil in the sermon on the mount (or plain). You can make the Bible say whatever you want it to say….and so can I. Maybe Jesus was actually instructing us on the way we should live, in order not to incinerate ourselves (being God and all, he certainly could see into the future. I don’t want to take the time to cherry pick a proof text to support his secret possession of a crystal ball at his pad in Capernaum). We must stop all movement towards war, at every chance we get (how about 25 million (or more) Americans in the streets, and millions of people of other countries in their millions of streets, nonviolently striking until war action ceases? Absolutely refuse to participate in the horror and insanity that always enriches the dogs of war and always punishes the innocent and the poor……ALWAYS. Shut everything down until the violence stops. Why doesn’t the church advocate for that? Instead of twisting itself into knots in order to satisfy its human need for revenge, violence, and scapegoating. (I know…I know….how naive and unrealistic of me. That could never happen. Massive destruction of all that is good for the profits of the warmongers and blood lust of our baser nature are much easier to achieve). If we keep listening to the same crap we’ve been fed before Mark 1:15 and since 313 AD we are doomed. I guess all the dispensationalists (which you sound like) will be happy then. The poor remnant can tribulate their way through the corpses, rubble and radiation until their skin rots off. The worldwide church has had an opportunity to be on the front lines of demanding peace and negotiations in all active and impending conflict, for hundreds of years! We’ve missed those opportunities so why not start now? Fat chance….too much money to be made by too many good “Christians” in the military (good benefits and retirement plans, too). Too easy to get people all fired up about “those other people” who are obviously the problem (and make some fast cash in the process…anybody in need of another private jet?). “Just War Theory”…..makes me want to puke….the fact that you can laugh and giggle during this discussion is repellent. And, I would have to listen to the podcast again to be sure (there is no way I could stomach that) but I am confident I never heard the words negotiation or reconciliation uttered one time. I guess those concepts don’t fit this particular “Biblical” narrative. I apologize if I missed the discussion of those concepts. Mike in Ohio

    I LOVE this Podcast!
A great fan of this thoughtful podcast. The most recent episode with Dr. Dugdale elicited some concern. The topic of attitudes toward dying and our often medicalized treatment of it is near and dear to my heart. However, she did not cover how difficult it can be to navigate a more natural approach to death and encountering pushback from the medical establishment. Enter palliative care, support for patients’ ability to navigate getting what they want. When I heard palliative care mentioned by Dr. Dugsdale, it seemed rather disparaging and fear-provoking. I wish she had given as much nuanced attitude to it as she did to other aspects of this subject.

    Amazingly Thought Provoking
Curtis- when I learned that David was going to the NY Times (as a relatively routine listener) I had reservations about the direction of the podcast! The mix that you both brought to the 50 mins or so exchange was just what I enjoyed. However your podcast with Andy C on “chatbot” was SO informative. I knew absolutely nothing about the technology and just like that the following week the business news cycle was dominated by Goggle and Microsoft competing AI platforms. As I am listening to the Exiles Podcast it is allowing me to think more deeply about the human condition and my level of engagement in improving the aforementioned. I appreciate the new pace and focus of the programs; which is bringing out the best in your guest and yourself. Praying for your continued success in representing Him well! Ric

    I don’t know
Seems like everything from The Dispatch gets old fairly quickly. I like the idea but gets hard to stay engaged. Maybe guests would help? Something to make the conversation more dynamic from month to month.
