Johnny Monaco is a singer, songwriter, guitar player & part-time SOCIALITE from Chicago, IL. After graduating from Harper College Johnny moved to Hollywood, CA where he attended & graduated from Musicians Institute. Shortly after Johnny was asked to join Chicago pop rockers Enuff Z'Nuff as lead guitarist and eventually frontman for the band. For the next twelve years Johnny toured extensively throughout the US, Europe & Japan.​ In addition Johnny has appeared in several print publications including Guitar World, Guitar Player, Young Guitar, Burrn!, Metal Edge, Classic Rock, Spin & Rolling Stone Magazine.​​ After leaving this twelve year stint in 2008 Johnny continued to front his own pop band and released his solo debut, Overrated. Edgy, sharp-witted power pop for the 21st century with a flair for sugary choruses & the ultra catchy melody. When he's not out performing live you'll find Johnny holed up in his Chicago home studio crafting the perfect pop/rock gems that combine elements of British Invasion song craft with today's latest studio trickery. Johnny's nonconformist approach to life & music has a familiarity to it, yet is all together his own. Johnny has also been very successful in the creative world of the pop-jingle business and has written & performed on a long list of TV & Radio tracks with production team Genuine Music. Johnny continued to front the band throughout multiple lineup changes until his departure in 2016. In winter of 2016 Johnny was invited to instruct aboard the very first all guitar dominated teaching cruise Axes & Anchors along with guitar legends Yngwie Malmsteen, Zakk Wylde & Marty Friedman. In 2017 & 2018 Johnny continued touring throughout the U.S. & Australia with American rock bands Tantric & L.A. Guns for spring & summer tours.​Today Johnny has launched his very first podcast It's Not Me, It's Absolutely You! and continues to write & record along with live performances throughout Chicago & the Midwest with his JOHNNY SOLO LIVE! show and CURRENT I POP I ROCK I DANCE & 80's trio THE SOCIALITES.
