Loved the GoT recaps. The back and forth banter between the three of them is absolutely amazing. Their recaps of Dark Materials is just as great as the GoT recaps. They should definitely recap Wheel of Time, one of them had to have read the books.

Like the hosts, don’t care for this show. It feels pretentious and overanalyzes films/shows ad nauseam.

I enjoy this podcast about GOT trivia & learning about all the background of GOT. Hilarious podcast!! Love their dynamic and conversation about movies, tv shows and all things nerdy!!

Nerdette Recaps is one of the highlights of my week. Whether they’re putting Peter in his patriarchal place with a deserved jingle or pointing out something new from a movie I have seen a million times, it is one of the best podcasts out there. Keep it up, y’all!

I consider myself as super tolerant and loving of hipsters, but these hosts seem to think classic well loved things (movies in this case) are uncool. Hipster sign #1. I am a millennial who grew up loving some of these 90s movies, so to trash them is kind of killing my awesome childhood memory buzz. I’m sorry, I tried! If you think blockbuster movies are lame and unoriginal, you will love these hosts. 3 stars cause I like Nerdette herself and didn’t wanna kill the ratings.

I love this show! The banter is wonderful and I can’t wait for more.

Update 2020: This is the greatest podcast ever made, and it has continued to live on after GOT. Nerdette Recaps is the alpha and the omega. May it continue until the end of the world. *original review below* I almost gave this zero stars because it will end when GOT ends, and that is maddening. I sadly only learned of it for season 8. I sadly will listen (in a sad manner) to all the previous episodes when it's over, attempting to recreate the experience as it was meant to be. Every show needs patriarchy jingles! At least, every show with Peter. Oh, and please bring it back for whatever GOT spinoff shows end up happening!

I’m so sad I came late to this. But I really enjoyed listening to the show as they went over the episodes and painted some background around them for us watchers non-readers. I almost want to listen to the GOT recaps but I just don’t have it in me to go back to Westeros. Maybe with a little more distance, lol. Can’t wait for more from Nerdette!

Love the chemistry between the hosts

Glad to have someone voice my disappointment over HBO’s “His Dark Materials.” It was manageable to watch because I could look forward to listening to this podcast. I expected more from HBO to adapt a complex children’s book series without watering it down. Love the dynamic between everyone on the podcast!

These three make even a terrible show worth watching! I kept watching through ‘His Dark Materials’ just so I could hang out with Gretchen, Tricia and Peter once a week. Look forward to the next recap. Please find something soon. I’ll miss you!

I enjoy criticism and thoughtful reviews but this podcast has just become obnoxious. Not worth it to spend my commute listening to people proud of their “wingeing.”

And you constantly comparing the book to the show is why you should try to be more unbiased and recognize that a show may not match the majesty of the book. Instead, your show has become a diatribe about how the show does not compare. It gets old week after week and I will switch podcasts to one that recognizes this fact.

This makes me wonder if they just hate watch the show every week looking for content. It’s not the book, Peter. We get it. Ugh. Back to reddit discussion.

Sorry I tried to hang in there but this podcast is way too critical and sarcastic of the series.

I look forward to the takes and banter of this show every week. If and when this show ends, I hope this crew can find something else to review together, because my podcast feed would be sadder without them.

I love you guys. I would love to hear you recite the phone book (if those still exist) just in anticipation of a random misogynistic Peter jingle. But come on. Wouldn’t it have been wiser to wait until the series fleshes out? Some stories are not meant to be adapted to screen. I think that was proven with The Golden Compass. I watched the initial series episode based on your podcast. How bad could it be if the Nerdette sea like it. And welll... let’s just say there aren’t enough no doze tablets in the pharmacy to keep me awake. I do have a suggestion for a new series to review. Can you please try Westworld. Wouldn’t it be good to just explore the character development self aware robotic prostitutes from a feminist perspective. The new season appears to be infinitely more exciting than this.

This is my favorite podcast and Greta Johnson is my favorite. I look forward to hearing their take as much (if not more) than I do the show.

First of all there’s a guy. I came for the Nerdettes. It feels like he never stops talking. And complaining. Apparently the show doesn’t answer ALL the questions immediately and that’s bad. It’s a show dude. A show. Not a movie. Let the story happen at its own pace. These questions will eventually get answered. What’s the rush? Go watch the movie if you’re in such a hurry. Also they’re very nitpicky and negative. I like this show and want to hear people who like it too. I’ll pass.

I’m more excited for the podcast than the show!

Well, I can’t stand the His Dark Materials books, but being able to listen to these three joking around again might make me stomach the show...that’s how great of a podcast this is.

Made the TV show fun for me past s4 and simultaneously removed any obligation to watch the show because I knew I could listen to a panel of three very funny people break the whole thing down. And it’s still good after the official end of the podcast! Lots of replay value

Great commentary; however your issues with pacing continuity in the show has continuity issues itself. Sometime you are cool with time gaps because it “moves the plot along” other times you gripe it’s too boring and just fluff. Ps. Quit it with the HP talk.

I came to this party a little late, end of seaon 7 and I wish I had heard about this sooner. Just listened to the last episode and I think I am more sad about this podcast ending more than the show.

I literally hated podcasts before I stumbled upon this one in my s8 obsession...I now subscribe to several (including Nerdette & Wait Wait!) but still haven’t found one with such a fun dynamic! This amped up my season 8 enjoyment considerably!!

I have enjoyed this podcast so much. The thoughtful analysis, the nitpicking and the jingles 😜 made it a well rounded show. GOT dropped the ball in a number of ways this season and it was good to hear my feelings about that validated. Please find something else to discuss right away!

The negativity people complain with regards to your show totally fits the back “half” of the season, so I looked forward to it. I only wanna hear it and watch it. I feel like happy folk aren’t being serious. Yes, the battle I loved, I had to check my heart rate ⌚️ watching it. Visually, I drooled 🤤 over the episode that enraged the world further. 🔥 🔥🔥🐉👩🏻‍🦳 It was stunning. That being said I anxiously listened to your finale GOT episode while washing my car. I only found this podcast earlier this year but was immediately enthralled by the feminist analysis and end the partriarchy jingle. I am also a longtime fan of Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me so Peter is already a trusted source of sarcastic humor. Thanks Greta, Tricia and Peter for sharing your common GOT obsession with all of us!

This show used to be hilarious. Now in the last season, the patriarchy jingles have largely disappeared. Unfortunately I now know what the point of them is. I really wish I could have heard what Trisha and Greta had to say in the last 3 episodes. Unfortunately Sagal thinks everything he has to say is more important and deserving of most of the air time. I can't even listen to his NPR show anymore. Next, a message to my NPR station asking them to replace his show with the Nerdettes. Women, if there is time before the last episode, do a count of speaking minutes. I'm pretty sure he is speaking more than the two of you put together.

I love NPR and the “Wait Wait...” podcast is our go-to for weekend car trips. I can’t believe we just learned about the Nerdette GoT podcast at the start of season 8! We may need to rewatch (again...) GoT just to listen along with the podcast after each episode. I have so enjoyed your insight, humor and normalizing being an obsessive geek. Thanks for doing such an awesome show. Looking forward to next Tuesday’s bittersweet finale.

This has been my absolutely favorite podcast ever and I am so sad that it’s coming to an end. I definitely have plans to go back and rewatch the series along with listening to the podcast, plus I’ve got the great tote bag to carry around now! I have some very small and tiny hope that the Wheel of Time series will live up to its potential and maybe we can get the gang back together to over analyze every look, word, and deed? Maybe?

From the first Patriarchy Jingle, I’ve been hooked. Hell, last season I didn’t have access to HBO but I had you guys, and it was fun keeping up with GOT by listening to you... I hope Nerdette and Peter will team up again after GOT is over... Maybe you can Recap HBO’s Chernobyl docuseries. 😬

There are few things I like more than listening to smart women talk about subjects I love. Greta and Tricia are smart and insightful and Peter Sagal is a great counterpoint, taking abuse with grace, or at least acceptance, and stirring the pot with trivia from a life of wide-ranging SF nerdery. It’s like adding an extra hour of GoT every week.

I can’t believe we’re almost to the last episode of this podcast (and the show). This is my all-time favorite podcast, and I look forward to listening to Greta, Tricia, and even Peter, after each episode of GoT. Also, TOTEBAG. And one with my actual name on it. Okay, it’s not my actual name, it’s Greta’s, but as an “also named Greta” person, finding anything with “Greta” written on it is a real life thing. I only started listening to this show at the beginning of GoT’s final season. It’s pretty good; sometimes interesting and amusing, sometimes not. The hosts are articulate but not as funny as they think they are. Their “patriarchy jingles,” poking gentle fun at Peter Sagal, are mildly chuckle-inducing the first couple of times you hear them, but after that . . . hoo boy. Also, if your drinking game is to take a shot every time they use the word “problematic,” then you’ll die of alcohol poisoning.

I only have 2 podcasts I currently listen to, Nerdette Recaps Game of Thrones and Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me. It is great to see another side of Peter Sagal. Although you joke about it, it would be really great for the three of you to start another recap show of some other series. Can’t wait till then. ~Ibrahim from Indonesia
