emostansupremacyFavorite Story PodcastI first listened to this podcast in full a few years ago and had little experience with story podcasts/spoken stories. However, I have yet to find one that’s better! I’m a fan of Pacific’s work and this story is just so beautifully written. I’ve definitely raved about the representation demonstrated within the story as well, I appreciate it so much. Overall, it’s an amazing story, well written, incredible voice acting, and I will forever adore it!

monique schulzNew twist on old conceptsI am not a big sci fi fan but this story had it all. It was fun, fear, love story of a different kind, and nice closure. Left nothing hanging.

RhodesyBImmensely pleased…to discover a full immersion into two well developed worlds and timelines - laced with strong characters who drop lines like, “this comforter smells like a Nantucket crotch”. Simply superb!

Zenofury22That Voice! My GOD!!! I love the sweet succulent tones of Graham Rowat’s voice. I love the soft swarming sarcasm scattered and streaming from and throughout the storytelling, subsequently I cannot stand the wait till season two. Also, God Dammit Pacific, you didn’t need to make the SCPCU a thing.

ShattafèIn aweCan’t say enough about this unique, self aware, delightfully charming and politically scathing work of sci fi wonderment. Stellar cast and writing so great I cannot stop listening. DO NOT MISS THIS ONE!

Elbo JonesFantasticA gripping tale with polished performances and excellent design. A wild and beautiful world, intellectually and emotionally meaningful. And Mr. Rowat’s aural alchemy could sublimate glory from a ticker tape.

Rich fn WisneskiA Beautiful Sci-Fi HorrorNot since Bioshock, have I experienced something that is equally beautiful, and horrific, painted in the colors of nostalgia and sadness. Such a great listen! The writing, voice acting, pacing, characters, all if it is fantastic!

VonderOheDon’t start unless you have time to listen to all 10!There are two radio drama podcasts this year that have been so immersive I’ve been unable to stop, and then had to relisten to the whole thing at least once. This one, and the most recent Dust series, Chrysalis. Margaret’s garden is exceptionally well produced, detailed, and well written.

Dreadbullgreat writing and actingwow just wow! Binged the whole show in a day and a half, I just had to keep listening! Great group of talent!
-
ArtCanada24Great charactersI really thought it would be a bland suburbs murder mystery but it has fantastic world building and is so wonderfully weird with memorable characters and really good and oddly comforting narration for surrealist horror.

Autumn FlewUtopian Dystopia 10/10Perfect weekend binge: 10 episodes of terrifying enchantment. Rich brilliantly written soil, fed by exceptional sound design, germinating fantastical characters with well tended voices that blossom into a mind bending utopian dystopia. Things grow differently in Margaret's Garden.

CyanalkalInteresting concept, meh executionListened to the first 4 (long) episodes, curious about many of the mystery elements and hoping it would get better, but frequent narration changes and varying voice talent made it difficult to get into the story. Also, a large part of the story revolves around unlikeable and generally uninteresting characters who seem to do little more than represent outdated white upper-middle class suburban views. I decided my unsolved questions were not worth the time, and I have wasted a couple good hours of my life. Would not recommend, but hey, maybe I just don’t get it, and I suppose it’s partially a matter of taste.

JadeDozleIntriguing storyThis was a fantastic story. I love and hated so many of the characters. The voice actors did phenomenally giving life to the characters. I’m sad to be in the last episode but am happy to have had the journey. It’s a true story teller than can give life to a new world and allow the listener to feel deeply for the characters. Great job! Now get back to work... I expect more from you ☺️ hahaha!

WhoSecretyLivesInYourItunesAlmostI want this show to be so much better than it is. Half of the voice acting is amazing! The other half falls flat. The soundscapes are just a little bit off, usually to loud. The story is good, but sometimes to convenient. I’ll keep listening to this solid start, but it’s got some definite room for improvement.

Chaotik_lordQuick-paced, intriguing, uniqueI have o any I’m usually leery of extended narratives, but this is fantastic. Every episode jumps between time and place to keep your attention as the mysteries unravel and the pieces build. The main characters have a fun chemistry, and the world has a richness to it that keeps you wanting more. I was surprised to find this show is new & current as I’m used to finding stuff when it’s got a large backlog for me to process, so I’m spoiled and eager for more. The creators have done work I have liked elsewhere; I’m very impressed with Pacific Obadiah as a writer, from the couple of things I’ve encountered.

jcheck20It’s just okStory can be pretty in-depth and interesting but IMHO some of the voice acting makes it hard to listen to

LlamadeusOverall really well produced.I’m three episodes in and overall I want to say this is a really well produced podcast. For the most part the voice acting is well done, Washington and the narrator are the stars in that regards. The narrator is clear and doesn’t sound forced while Washington edges him out in that regards. She sounds the least like she is just reading dialogue of the entire cast, sounding like she is actually saying those words if you can understand what I’m trying to say. Of the cast Mars and the other gentlemen are the weakest in terms of sounding stiff and just ‘reading lines.’ The accent Mars puts on just sounds forced and out of place in my opinion. What I think the entire thing suffers from is weak dialogue. The flow of it just seems off to me, and can be too flowery at points that detracts from the overall performance. Another point for me would that I don’t think the format is 100% right the series. I could see this being more of case files a la The Black Tapes. Overall I’m going to give it five stars because I think this show has a lot of potential for growth, and look forward to seeing where it goes.

Nick McNultyGreat world building dragged down by voice actingMargaret's Garden is a very intricate, expansive audiodrama that does an exemplary job of juggling multiple timelines and universes. The cast is large and the world has a deep backstory and history, but you never feel lost or in the woods. The show's structure keeps you engaged and leaning into the bizarre history of Everton. Unfortunately, some of the voice actors do not compare to the show's polished content. The female lead, for instance, is clearly reading off the page with awkward pauses and a lack of intonation. Her dialogue is also bizarrely laden with profanity, which feels like a very forced way to add edge to her character. I'm three episodes into the series and I'll keep listening, but the acting truly pulls me out of what should be an immersive fantasy/sci-fi audioscape.

CatSaturdayyReally GoodThis is really good so far, like HBO TV series good. My only issue is having to wait 2 weeks per episode instead of 1 haha

SushisaurusRexHoly moly that’s some awful voice actingIt’s been a while since I’ve listened to a podcast with such atrocious voice acting. And it’s the main characters, too, so there’s no avoiding it.
