    One of my favs
This is one of my favorite podcasts and I find myself enjoying it regardless of the guest and whether I’ve heard of them before. The editing is superb and Elizabeth McQueen is a fantastic host!

    Love love love
The concept of the podcast is just awesome! Who wouldn’t want to talk to musicians about their favorite songs?! It always leads to a super interesting, funny and often profound conversation. I love it!

Host is spacey and too focused on self
This is more like a chat musicians would have with one another over a cigarette in the back of a theater than an interview. Here's what I would like: a list of interesting questions intended to reveal something about the interview subject's character. Here's what you get: a list of questions the host is personally interested in. They're different. You also hear a lot of the host's own personal thoughts and feelings, which are misplaced in a podcast that ostensibly is not about her. Finally - and here's probably what drove me here - this podcast has become an advertising cancer that has infiltrated KUTX. It's garlic. Go back in your bag garlic. If I want you, I know where to find you.

    The World Needs "This Song"
I've been enjoying "This Song" for a while now and can't recommend it enough. Elizabeth McQueen is a great interviewer and there's something about her genuine enthusiasm for music & musicians combined with her personal experiences of being a musician, that result in the best conversations. I've had more NPR driveway moments listening to this podcast than anything else of late. Even bigger bonus that my local NPR station, KUTX, is the one producing the content.

    It's fantastic
KUTX's This Song is fantastic. About as close to a perfect podcast as they come. It's is so fun listening to each artist go through their musical make up and how it shaped who they are today. Elizabeth does an incredible job with these artists reaching these 'truths' about music we all know and even moreso feel but have an impossible time articulating. That honestly may be the best part. If you are a music lover, you will get hooked, I promise. The bands are great, the crew is great and you will discover tons of new music along the way. Have fun!

    I Love This Song, buuuuut...
This Song is a great show, I have to start by saying that. I've heard artists I know and love and others who are unknown to me discuss such a wonderful array of songs. It's helped me learn more about so many different musicians and what songs led them to where they are today. Now, with that said, one complaint I have about the show is Elizabeth McQueen. I adore her. I think she's smart and sweet and everything a host should be. But...her excessive use of the word 'like' is so gratuitous and distracting that I can barely listen to the show anymore. When an adult is speaking about something and every other word is 'like', it's beyond grating.

I listen to every episode! I love hearing an artist explain their influences and creative processes. Mega-bonus points for being Austin-based and regularly featuring local groups. This is something KUTX does very well in general.

    Enjoyable and insightful!
I'm far from being gifted with anything related to music, but this podcast is so interesting and insightful in hearing from various music artists about what inspires their music. The host, Elizabeth, has an enjoyable voice to listen to and creates a comfortable dialogue that is engaging. The episodes feel like a nice length for someone who can digest only so much about music without feeling like it goes over my head, but still going into enough depth about the music artist that it feels enjoyably "meaty". :) Thanks for the show!

    Mr.
I have really been enjoying the This Song podcast. Hearing Elizabeth makes me smile. Elizabeth asks great questions only another artist could think of. And Elizabeth is doing the greatest thing a music commentator can do, she has gotten me interested in some musicians I previously knew nothing about. Bravo my dear!

    Finally caught up!
After hearing you mentioned on KUTX I decided to listen about six months ago and was hooked! I went back to the beginning and it's taken til now to catch up. I'm so glad I did. What makes this program so wonderful for me is that clips are played in the background so even if I've never heard the song (or artist) being referenced, I know exactly what the person being interviewed is talking about. Even if I know the song, y'all play the exact riff or drum fill tht I have probably not noticed in a lifetime of hearing the song. Yea!!! p.s. I'll always call it Mamoot. lol

    catching up...
I’m so happy to be a late-comer to this podcast! It’s such a joy to just hit play and listen to the old episodes (new to me) back-to-back! The interviews are wonderfully conversational, and the editing really draws you into the whole experience.

    Enlightening
Anyone curious about transformational influences in a musical artist's life will be inspired by the personal stories woven beautifully by host Elizabeth McQueen and the This Song team. Listening to favorite singers, songwriters, musicians like Jonathan Meiburg, Cross Record and Carrie Rodriguez discuss the certain songs that sparked their creative anima is, for me, a spiritual experience; it's like unwrapping a magical gift.

    Inspiration to my Ears
Whether on stage with a guitar or behind the radio-mic veil, Elizabeth McQueen is always a delight to listen to. As the host of, This Song she once again does not disappoint. I love hearing artists talking with artists about their craft, and this podcast gives a fly-on-the-wall perspective of real conversations with musicians about what inspires them. In turn, the audience can’t help but also feel inspired.

    Inspiring
You can hear Elizabeth's contagious excitement as she talks to musicians about music. It's cool to hear their origin stories through the lens of a specific song. Loved the Kevin Parker (Tame Impala) interview!
