One of my favorite stationery podcasts
LOVE this podcast! It’s mostly about pens, but some other stationery is in the mix too (it’s the PEN addict after all). Was my first introduction to fountain pens a few years ago and I’ve listened to every episode since. If you like pens, especially fountain pens, this is your show. Brad completely geeks out over everything, Myke attempts to reign in the thoughts, and it’s fabulous. Love it.

    Deadly
Deadly navel gazing. Heard about this on All of It and being a pen lover I was interested. “help me find a pen cup” Are you kidding? Deleting!

The Office Ladies Gave You A Shoutout! I’m So Thankful They Did!
I am so glad The Office Ladies Podcast told us about you! I have a deep love you pens, but never though thought to look for a podcast about it.. I am a total fan of this outstanding podcast! I will be listening every time you give us a new one, along with catching up on every single one you have put out! Thank you for this! I don’t feel so weird about my love of pens now. ✒️💯🖌

    Congratulations
To the Pen Addict on 500 and the dedication to the pen industry as the best informational source there is.

Like, Right, Like, Right, Right ?
Just count how many times Brad says, “right” after each sentence and you’ll lose your train of thought. Add “like” to the sentence structure and you’ll feel as if a 13 year old boy is guiding you through Dunce Land. Like, Right .? Right ? Like, right? I got a pen, right ? And, like, I liked it, right? And, like, I wrote with it, right ? These guys are evidently 50 years old, right? Upgrade your diction, guys ! Right ? Dreadful, immature sentence structure taints the podcast. Eliminate all “likes” and “rights” and this podcast would be three minutes long. Speech coaches, please, like, right. Too much filler, right ?

    Outstanding
This podcast is awesome. It covers a wide range of topics on pens without getting away from the core. Show notes are perfect and easily accessible. Looking forward to seeing the results of the Slack Survey .

    F***ing love this podcast
I loooooove this podcast. I’ve been listening to it for years, and have heard every episode. It’s always the first one I recommend when I find out someone is into pens, writing, stationary, etc. Brad and Myke are hilarious together, as well as smart and informed. There’s no pretense here—just two dudes who love what they’re talking about. I’ve learned a lot and am always entertained.

    Hosts find themselves very charming
I just cannot tolerate Myke, he is very interested in signaling status and it just makes me cringe.

A good podcast, but the content isn't consistently about things I care about
I think this podcast is well made, but after listening to a gift guide i was like cool, great exactly what i wanna know, and then learned that, unfortunately, most of most episodes are about fountain pens. I draw more than i write, and was hoping for more of an overview of pens and mark making tools in general. I have no use for fountain pens as i am a heavy handed bozo and they are sharp at the end. After a derisive comment about how a brush pen couldnt be considered a "best" pen by anyone i realized my lifestyle was too fabulous for these nerds. Ill tune in on holidays when the nice lady is on. But you should listen if you like fountain pens or journalling because they love it and speak passionately on the subject for a long time for a whole lotta episodes. I gave this one the ole college try but its not exactly what i hoped it would be- which isnt really a problem for anyone but me... and not really anybody's fault or something i expect to be changed... because i wandered into the pachinko parlor looking to play poker yknow

    BEST. PODCAST. EVER.
I have had a history of insomnia and when i need it, this podcast is here for me. it puts me right to sleep every time, without fail, within 5 minutes. all i have to do i skip to the middle of the episode, and when i have no context for what i'm listening to, i fall asleep almost immediately. 10/ 10 would recommend

If you write ... then listen this...!!!
Brad and Myke take you on a journey that no other has taken fountain pen, other pens, stationary enthusiasts, users, and collectors before. Really insightful and thoughtfully curated podcast on stationery and penaddict’s alike. Kudos!

Potentially the greatest podcast of all time
Title says it all. If you love pens, you'll love this podcast - and I definitely pens.

If you love pens, this is for you!
I love this podcast! I have always loved pens, and just started to get into fountain pens. While they do love fountain pens, they love ALL pens! They are just as happy if you find a roller ball pen you love as they are if find a fountain pen you love! They just love pens and love to share their love! It is so great!!

    I love pens!
The fabulously amazing wonderful native beautiful fabulous pen podcast highlights the indigenous pen in its natural habitat. Fabulous!

I never knew I was that into pens
The Pen Addict podcast is the a thorough and deep dive into the wide world of fine writing implements. The hosts approach pens squarely as tools for writing, while reveling in the pure pleasure of writing with a skillfully and beautifully crafted pen.
  • DRex212
    Keep it up:)
    Love these guys

    Informative and entertaining
Myke and Brad do an excellent job covering news, pen shows and other stationary related items. As much as I enjoy pens, this is the podcast for me. If you’re into pens you need to be into this podcast.

    Good show, needs more variety
Love the show, been listening for years. Noticed a few trends over time that are hurting the show a little: 1) Brands, especially large Japanese brands, know their business better than we do. Not catering to the niche US market is treated with derision at times on the podcast. 2) The podcast is more news based than it used to be, especially about LE releases. I listen for the hosts personalities and views, not for the latest pen news. More banter please! 3) More guests please! Hearing from others really adds something to the show from time to time.

A must if you are into pens
I look forward to this great podcast every week. The hosts are really wonderful to listen to, and are super helpful to anyone in the pen hobby looking for answers to any questions.

Who knew pens could be so fun?
I look forward to listening to this show every Wednesday and hearing about all the news in the stationery world. Brad is never afraid to dive into the details and Myke keeps the pace going and many times serves as a stand-in for the more casual pen enthusiasts. I love that they start the show off with reviews of new pens and spice up the format with the occasional interviews and on-location pen show specials.
  • Bessicajach
Come for the pens, stay for the banter
I adore the total lack of toxic masculinity on a podcast hosted by two white men. Yet it’s not pointed out or swelled upon. It’s fantastic.

    Loved this show, at first
When my sister in law told me about this show a year ago, it was great. I loved it so much that I pushed and listened starting at the very first episode. I’ve always been a pen addict but didn’t realize it. Unfortunately, the show became less appealing. Though I love pens of all types, I’m just not interested in the latest $500+ fountain pen, the endless talk on field notes and recent habit of talking politics. I know there are a lot of people that are loyal fans.. and I say, I’m glad you found a home. For me.. it’s become boring and painful. Thanks for those early episodes.. they were fun!

The obession you didn't know youy had
Man. I love this show. Brad and Myke have great chemistry and I love the subject matter - here's a warning though: only listen if you have some disposable income. They'll definitely add to your wish list!

    Great show, brought me in
The show brought me in to the Pen hobby, and for that I'm grateful, but lately it's become more of an unabashed advertisement for Nock Co., and has become political. They have lately started to measure companies and products against the back-drop of progressive snowflake politics and whether someone is offended or not by, believe it or not, a male or female version of a notebook. I doubt they buy everything in their lives based on gender neutrality, and I think they are jumping the shark into irrelevancy with that sort of stuff. There are a couple of new podcasts that stay out of the political realm and talk about the hobby, and maybe those are the ones I should be listening to.

    Great resource, awesome personalities
Just getting into this pen thing (started using a bullet journal). This podcast is an amazing resource for beginners/newbs who want to discover the world of pens. Cool insights and nice eye on what's out there. Keep it up guys!

    Delightfully informative and friendly
It is reassuring to know there is a subculture that embraces pens, pencils, and stationary. These two friends spar and ally to present a well-balanced view of pens. It has a wonderful human quality that doesn't screen listeners from the occasional exasperation, crankiness, or exuberance. I don't always agree with the reviews, but never fail to appreciate their insights. While presented with authority they are quick to emphasize that the views are their own and listeners could validly disagree. Now the possible downside is that they have often revealed pens of which I was not aware, motivating me to bust my pen budget at times. Even so, it was worth it. Keep up the fabulous work.

Solid podcast, needs a fresh coat of paint
I've been listening from nearly the beginning and it's a good show for pen and paper fans of all kinds. However, after years of listening... -Opening theme music doesn't fit the show -Would like to hear more from Myke. Brad talks more than 80% of the time. I love when they have a guest on the show, the conversation seems more balanced. -Less Nock. Brad talks about Nock (his business) a lot. I think it's cool what he's done and how they incorporate Nock items in fundraising. But overall, less Nock please. Sometimes it feels like an episode-long advertisement
  • Magmaryanne
    I listened to them all!
I finally did it. I went back - started from the beginning and listed to all the episodes- just finished today. What a treat! As they have said many times - if you have the time - past episodes are a great review of the Pen and paper world. Listening to Brad and Myke - laugh - cry and over caffeine themselves - as they have gone down the pen path has been a fun journey for me to tag onto. The camaraderie between them makes me feel part of their world in when all I am doing is listening. Keep up the great work and looking forward to getting myself more immersed in pens and Nock Co.

    Office Supply Nerds Unite!
I thought I liked pens and pencils a lot. Then I listened to TPA and realized there is a whole new level I can seek to attain.

    Great for Beginners and Beyond
If you're new to pens and stationery, this podcast is a great way to dive further into different pens, pencils, and more. Myke and Brad describe countless products for new and experienced users alike, so.. For anyone with more experience, it's a great podcast to discover new products! As others have said, however, prepare your wallet.

    Love, love,love!
What an AMAZING podcast! I actually heard one of the hosts on TWIT and he mentioned all of the other podcasts he was involved with. I looked through the list and almost fell out of my chair when I saw the title of this podcast. My friends have always thought I was crazy when I would talk about pen weight and balance in conjunction with the pen tip. It is so great to find a place that caters to all of us writing instrument geeks! Keep it up!

Get ready to buy some pens!
As a relative newcomer to the fascination with pens and paper, I started listening to The Pen Addict at Episode 1. I'd get the basics, so I thought, then skip right to the current shows. Alas, I'm now on Episode13 and have yet to listen to any new stuff. I've now found myself haunting the pen aisle at the grocery store, the first step into the vortex of pen addiction. Great show!

    So much to learn
I love this podcast. I learn so much each episode. The interviews with pen sellers or pen designers are the best. Can't wait to listen each week.

Even if you don’t like pens.
I’m not even that into pen culture, and I really enjoy listening this podcast.

Why didn't I find this podcast sooner?
I read about this podcast in Mental Floss and could not wait to get home and listen. I too love pens and stationary and so enjoy listening about the subject. I have only been able to listen to three of the pods so far but I have enjoyed each one and look forward to catching up. Thank you for a great podcast.

    Great fun
Love these guys, they may be a my favorite podcast each week. I really look forward to each new show. I listen to all kinds of podcast but without a doubt they create the most consistent revenue stream for there advertisers. I'm sure I buy something after every show. From a gel pen for $2 to a sailor fountain pen for $175. Keep up the good work.

    The best
Not sure what I can really say, this podcast got me into pens and paper. I’ve been listening to this for a couple years now and Brad and Myke always bring a good conversation. Put your wallets away and listen up! Who would have thought you could have an engaging podcasts about the analog world?
  • Steve Agocs, D.C.
    Excellent podcast!
Essential if you use analog writing tools. Production value always top notch and Myke and Brad are entertaining as heck! My only criticism is that ads (which I know are necessary!) can run long, sometimes over 5 minutes in some cases, but that’s why the FF button exists if I get tired of an ad. On the other side of the coin I’ve used coupon codes from the show for Hover and other advertisers and benefitted from these same ads! :-)

    One of my favorite podcasts
I look forward to this show every week. It's nice to know other people care about pens and paper as much as I do.

    a podcast about pens?
Yes, it is, and it’s great. You have to be a special kind of nerd to like this. I stumbled on this when I googled “good pen” since I convinced myself that it’s not my handwriting that is awful, but rather crappy pens that make my handwriting look awful. I was half right. Anyway, I enjoyed listening to all of the episodes and thought I should write a review. If you like now toys, listen to this. I haven’t taken the plunge into any expensive pens yet, as I am having great fun testing out the cheap beginner pens and ink samples. However, I do foresee a Franklin Christoph in my future….

Thank You for Entering My Life
I have passed nerd status with this addition to my podcasts. While I thank you, I am sure my husband will not as soon as he finds out about my new purchases. I can't wait for the next episode.

    My Favorite Podcast
This is my favorite podcast, and probably the one that has cost me the most money. I just want to buy everything they talk about.
  • PenGoblin
    Yes!
I knew these guys were perfect when they talked about leaving the "other" pens out on their desks for sticky fingered visitors while keeping their "good ones" away from sight...for their personal use only. Of all the podcasts available this one validated my obsession! Love it!

So glad I found this podcast
I didn’t know what I was getting myself into when I subscribed to this podcast, but I’m so glad I did. I’m a graphic artist so I spend lots of time drawing. Listening to Myke and Brad talk about pens reignited my fascination with pens, particularly fountain pens. The podcast is very informative, in a casual conversation format. Myke became a pen addict as the show progressed which was fun to listen to, but Brad is the one with the real addiction and knowledge. Love this PODCAST!!!
  • Jimmy bigstax
    If you like pens...
you’ll really like this podcast. Sometimes informative, sometimes off the beaten track, some times I just hit my head and think “I’m actually listening to a podcast about pens?!” The hosts are enthusiastic and curious. Good guests - loved the one with Patrick Rhone. They need to compress the levels a little better - Brad’s mike is always louder than Myke’s. Minus 0 stars for that though - just a little constructive criticism, I hope.
  • Swissmiss111
Great guys, a well done podcast
I am kind of surprised by how much I enjoy this podcast. I listen to Mikes on Mics (now called Workflow?) and they mentioned The Pen Addict. I listened to one episode and now I’m hooked. I never realized until now how much I appreciate a good pen. Nor did I realize how important the paper is. I have always enjoyed stationary stores- even as a child, better than a candy. I remember when mechanical pencils were a relatively “new” thing. My dad bought me one. I still remember what it looked like. I was nine years old and so excited to bring it to school and put it into action. And oh how I remember my 4th grade teacher saw it and told me that it was nice, but it was not welcomed in the classroom and was to be used only at home. I guess she thought it might be distracting- that I might play with it. Little did she know that she crushed my little world. Anyway, these 2 guys provide an interesting discussion and make me pause to think about what I am going to reach out and grab the next time I write something.

    Wield your power carefully!
I've listened to the whole back catalog of Pen Addict and really enjoy it. Since Nock Co. launched, though, I feel a little icky about Brad talking positively of his own company and poorly of others (leave Scribble alone already! They didn't have a prototype for their ink version for either the Kickstarter or Tilt campaigns, it's obvious to all of us). It's true--some things that occur in the pen community clearly are not 100% kosher. But I feel that someone with the huge reach and influence (not to mention income stream) of the circa 2014 Pen Addict is being a bit of a jerk when he repeatedly harps on the failings of others then brings up his own limited editions and release dates...
