Love the podcast but Paula is out of touch with real families and raising kids.

    Not compelling.
    Too many strong egos.

    Ads and more Ads
Somewhere within the bowels of this show there is some great and entertaining advice but six minutes of ads right off the top… ouch.

    My favorite podcast
Be warned this is some awesome informal conversation on this podcast, but please stick with it all of it his great information that is given in a relatable way. Honestly, it feels like Joe, OG, Paula and others are my good friends even though I have never met them. I have learned so much from this podcast about financial decisions and their impact on my life.

    Fantastic interviews
Yes, these guys are funny, and it’s amazing ear bubblegum when the guys are talking back and forth. But I have to say they are fantastic at finding great guests and Joe is a skilled interviewer. The genuine connection and conversation keeps me coming back to listen.

    Awesome Podcast That Teaches Nothing
I have been listing to Stacking Benjamin’s since the start of the COVID lockdown. Always look forward to listening to Joe, OG, and Doug. I learned a great deal and was able to reduce my student debt significantly, pay off my credit cards, and increase my TSP retirement. Thanks and appreciate all you guys do.

Love them! But don’t always follow!
I absolutely love these dudes. They make learning about money fun and understandable. I have “called” in twice and they gave me useful direction. Fortunately one of the times I didn’t follow their advice and made almost $300K on a Airbnb in Idaho. But they are doing their best with what facts you can tell them. They can’t possibly know everything about your financial situation but I will say they give their best shot and know what they are talking about… most of the time. And yes I want my free shirt or shoutout for leaving an Apple review. AJ

Hands down best personal finance podcast
Stacking Benjamins is the OG personal finance podcast! Content is current, relatable, and delivered with a side of comedy. I’ve been listening for 5+ years and haven’t missed an episode. The advice I’ve received has led me on the right direction for my own financial journey. Thank you Joe, Doug and OG!

Above mediocre podcast, even with that Doug guy hanging around like a stray dog! Great advice, I am hoping it will eventually help me move out of my parent's basement. Dad's not too happy with me, something to do with being 43, and a virgin... Aside from still wetting the bed, things are looking up! Who knows, maybe I can score a book or totally awesome t shirt out of this!!

    So Entertaining & Educational
Stacking Benjamin’s is my favorite podcast. I love the mix of humor and education that Joe, Doug, OG and the guests provide. If you are into finance and FIRE this is the show for you. Scott Carson - The Note Closers Show

Would love more info much sooner
It takes a lot of effort to pick out useful information in this show due to so much banter. I like some funny banter but this show’s banter does not seem funny to me. Plus the ads.

    Best Money Show on Earth!
Listen to this show at your own risk! I started reaching all of my financial goals after listening to Stacking Benjamins. But really, Joe and OG keep it simple and keep it real.

Great show, but TOO MANY ADS
Joe, OG, Doug, Paula, Len and others on Stacking Benjamins always have great discussions and talking points. While the subject matter is financial in nature, it’s not the same content every time like some other podcasts. I hope the Stacking Benjamins crew comes out to Knoxville, TN on the tour. I recommend Stacking Benjamins for an interesting and educational podcast that can help you save more and be more financially aware.

    Laugh and learn
I’m a long time listener. Started listening years ago during my 45 minute commute to care for my grandson. Took me a few months to hear “the dessert” - often getting great suggestions for movies, tv series and music. The new ‘Back Porch’ is a great replacement for the dessert. It’s a David Letterman Show on finance, life and trivia. My favorite shows are the Friday shows when all the regulars are together: Joe, OG, Len and Paula. Lots of laughing and learning throughout the shows. Add the interesting guests and Doug’s trivia - it’s a great listen!.

Do I drive faster listening or is the drive easier?
I randomly found this podcast while looking to improve my family’s financial acumen on the commute to work. Wow, it’s not everyday (or ever since I was a kid) that hanging out in someone’s mom’s basement could be such a great experience. Joe and OG make the drive to work fly by and (don’t tell them), but I might have even learned some things. Thank you for the content!

Not sure what kind of show they run here, but it’s a good one!
I've been coming on down to the Stacking Benjamin's basement for, man, about the last five years, and oh boy, what a ride it's been! I've got to say, this show is like a fine wine - it continues to get better with age. Or at least, that's what Joe keeps telling himself! Now, let me get to the good part. Neighbor Doug! The saving grace of this podcast. Without your witty quips and insightful commentary, I might as well be listening to a recording of my grandma's gardening tips. Thanks to Doug, and his trivia, I've had a reason to stick around!! Over these years, I can honestly say I haven't learned a single thing from the show. Zilch. Nada. I'm still convinced that Stacking Benjamin's is an elaborate experiment to see how long someone can endure mind-boggling discussions about the ol El Camino, or OG’s steak dinner. Yet, despite crying out for mercy, I can't help but laugh. The sheer absurdity and randomness of the show are a guilty pleasure I can't resist. So, thank you, Stacking Benjamin's gang, for teaching me... well, whatever it is you've been teaching me. All that being said, Stacking Benjamin’s is a breath of fresh air in the finance media space, it is informative, up to date, very well produced and most of all, fun to listen to. Joe has an incredible knack for opening up guests and providing some of the best exploratory and directive commentary I’ve seen from almost any show, and puts in the time and research to provide the most to his audience. The constant contestants w/ Paula and Len Penzo always create excellent camaraderie and result in wonderfully diverse discussions, especially when you bring up desert. 🍦 All in all, LISTEN TO STACKING BENJAMINS! Here’s to another five years of delightful confusion!

Their Podcast Is Gold and I love their newsletter too
There is so much value in this podcast. It can help you grow your savings, reduce your spending and all while thinking about retirement “before” the official date. Highly recommend.

    Great gang of slackers!
You know those people who always seem to be slacking, having fun at work and not looking like they’re actually doing anything productive? Yet they always get the job done and better than most. That’s this gang, the gang I want to be part of or emulate when I get as old as these dudes. You won’t feel like you’re learning anything, yet you’ll be better off for it. Highly recommend!
  • TomTurkToledo
    Salesmanship
I realize that they have to make money with this venture. But, the regular interview section on each episode is a drain; it’s just a hidden sales pitch for someone’s book, podcast, show, etc. it’s now an automatic 20-minute fast forward. I wish they’d cut back to one interview per week and expand the “favorite part of the show”- analysis of latest financial headlines. OG is the glue. If he’s not on, the pod devolves into “the view”- gossip and meaningless banter. When is he getting his own podcast? Like Beyoncé, it’s time to break out on your own. I’m sure OG will love that comparison.

    Phenomenal but…
…I miss the part of the show that doesn’t exist

    Great stuff!
I’ve been listening to this show for the last four years. Always great advice, lots of variety, and the humor is a bonus. As a high school educator, I find myself sharing their tidbits of wisdom with my students and staff.

Three Smart and Witty Financial Hotties
Let’s see, one deadpan veteran- check. One awesome Disney loving dad- check. One wise cracking neighbor- got it! All this and dishing out great advice. What more could one want (other than Joe’s book and a t-shirt)!

    Great info
I'm a podcast addict and this is one of my favorites on personal finance.. my one complaint is the extra bit they throw in at the end of the show

    Perspective
The Stacking Benjamin show is so much fun to LEARN from! Joe, OG and yes, even Doug most shows, bring an entertaining spin to learning about personal finance. I greatly value the time I spend listening to their podcast because they share different perspectives on financial issues. Taking into consideration where people are in their financial journey and talking to beginners and experts alike. I always look forward to the next show!

    Quality
Been listening for years. Joe’s Mom asked that I leave a review because her son, OG and neighbor Doug are good people. This show is invaluable for real people who live in real America. You will laugh and learn!

    Updated Review
Current Review: The show has some good guests, especially Paula Pant of the Afford Anything podcast. She is always positive and professional. It’s clear that the staff works hard to produce a podcast that is intended to be entertaining. That said, trying to be funny can be dangerous, and the humor in the latest episode with the movie clip could be seen as offensive and tone-deaf, which brought the whole mood of the podcast down. On top of that, it could have been edited as it was unnecessary to air the entire clip to make the point. It is obvious that the hosts care about their show, but they need to think more carefully about what they say so as not to alienate their listeners. Previous Review: This is a really good podcast, but a comment on today’s episode on maximizing your money and looking at the 20 expenses you should skip was depressing. One commentator callously said he would not be willing to help his pet if he needed cancer treatment since it wouldn’t be financially worth it & that the pet could be easily replaced with another bought from a pet store. After those 2 comments, it was difficult to continue listening.

    One of my favorites!!
This is a great podcast to obtain valuable information about personal finance, while being super entertained at the same time. I appreciate the quick wit which sometimes comes in the form of high quality dad jokes 🙃 I am also a Michigan native and appreciate the positive stories about my home state! Update: I love the new disclaimer! 😁

    Finance Demystified
If you want to gain control of your finances, this is a great show to help you takes steps for a successful financial future. Also Doug’s “amazing” trivia may keep you on the edge of your seat. This is show to keep on the weekly listening list.

    Fantastic Podcast
I don’t know what word to use besides fantastic. The content is informative and useful. The hosts are so funny and enjoyable, which sets them apart from so many others. With the plethora of finance podcasts out there, it can be hard to decide where to commit my time and which ones I should recommend to friends/family. This is easily my go to whenever I am looking for a new podcast episode or need to give someone a recommendation. This is a must try if you haven’t already!

    Favorite Podcast
My friend introduced me to this podcast back in late 2021 and I have been listening ever since. I listen every week and look forward to tuning in during my morning commute. It is actually a weird morning if I am not listening to this podcast on my way to work! I love the practical advice and positivity that Joe, OG, and Doug have every episode. I have learned so much and I can’t recommend this podcast enough. -Mattie in Tennessee

Great show making finance easy to understand
Such a great show that is so easy to listen to and teaches you so much about personal finance while making it fun and easy to grasp! Joe and OG always have great conversations on Monday and Wednesday about so many different topics. Fridays round table is always great to tune into before the weekend and don’t forget about Neighbor Doug’s amazing trivia! I am also a big fan of dessert like other long time listeners.
  • JDP_9
Love the variety of guests they have on
I have been listening to this podcast for a couple of years now. It actually was the first financial podcast that I listened to. They make learning about finances fun. They actually introduced me to other financial people that I respect such as the ladies from Brown Ambition, Janice Torres, and Jen Hemphill. I look forward to the interviews with the guests because there is always something I can learn.
  • Dadukrow
    Informative and entertaining!
I can’t recommend this podcast enough. You’ll be surprised that after each episode the podcast hosts, Joe, OG, and Doug, will have somehow kept you entertained but have also managed to teach you about finances. Each episode is different and is both informative and fun! If you are interested in learning more about money, then this is a fabulous show for you.

    Awesome Personal Finance Podcast
I have learned a ton from this podcast and look forward to the new episodes every week. They cover many different topics, all of which help me with my personal financial situation. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking to clean up their finances.

    Funny and Sound Advice
I love the banter between the hosts and have learned a lot. I came across this show because I read everything I can about personal finance and read Stacked. Loved the book so much that I immediately started listening to the podcast. Now I never miss an episode.
  • DrewMurray613
    Love the show!
The show is great! Obviously the real reason I listen is for Doug’s awesome trivia and all his goofing around. Not like I would actually learn anything from Joe and OG, but they definitely seem like they know what they are talking about when it comes to personal finance!
  • FiHobbyist
    Financial topic exploration and entertainment
Been listening for over a year and greatly appreciate the content variety, discussions and show flow. Overall provides a light and entertaining intro to a variety of topics du jour, enough where the show remains fresh and one can deep dive after into any topics that spark interest.
  • Aeynrt
    Diverse perspectives and guests
I appreciate how Joe invites on and truly listens to a variety of guests. As a woman often in male dominated spaces, Joe’s attention and interest in all guests stories stands out and I wish more men were this level of ally. He helps a lot of people have a platform and chance to share what’s cool about them.
  • BlueLangostino
A good preliminary to finance with some fluff
I have listened to this show for a few years. I love the hosts ability to be wholesome, dorky, and unapologetic about it. In recent times I have started to not like the show as much though because after a bit its become episodes about “what does this internet article say about saving money.” I have also gotten to believe the show subscribes to the normal ideology where a wealthy midcareer guy hands out advice like “invest in your 401k and stop buying lattes” mentality. That financial advice is basic, and not untrue, but not truly helpful for the vast majority of people who in today’s climate can neither afford a 401k or a latte and have no fluff spending to cut. It’s not a show for building wealth but just generally taking about the economy and financial matters. Additional, I’ve lately come to believe the hosts can be a little hypocritical. They will push investment in managed funds but keep in mind they made $ by running funds in their personal careers so they are biased. They will say real estate is bad for beginners or a crud investment overall but quite literally just created a spinoff show about investing in real estate and admitted during a stacking deeds show several of them and their children have a lot of real estate investments. These guys are entertaining and file them under a higher category of general DJ car chatter but you’re not going to learn a ton from them.

Fantastic Guidance with the right amount of humor
Amazing line up of guests with a variety of insights, recommendations, and tools for follow up and personalization. OG is the grumpy, too cool for school, real world voice, Doug is hilarious, insightful (did I say that out loud?), and brings levity, and Joe is the perfect dork (in a good way) to tie it all together. The rest of their regulars balance everything out and have their own great podcasts, blogs, and social media as well. I’ve been listening since 2016 back when OG was still pretending to be an anonymous regular guy with a bag over his head and I’ll keep up my regular listening as long as they keep this charade together.

I Wish It Were Five Days a Week
Congrats on the Web nod! So well deserved. I love how they aren’t about “tips per minute” and instead are like a group of knowledgable friends chatting about money. They take the headlines and interesting guests so I'm surprised every episode. I like that the show has more of a "late night talk show" tone. I've had more laugh-out-loud moments during my run every morning. Highly recommend. Doug even has changed over time to get smarter! Who gets smarter???

    Educational & Entertaining
I recommend this podcast to anyone that will listen! It has just the right mix of entertainment and education. I listen 3x/week and am proud to say I know too much useless trivia! I’m am Ohio State alumna so I love the banter about OSU/Michigan (Go Bucks!)
  • heurbto785!:93!
    These dorks are awesome
I was skeptical at first, there just aren’t enough middle aged white guys talking about money on the internet. After a few episodes, I was hooked. I’ve learned more about managing my personal finances (and life) from these dorks and their guests than I did in the 15 years before listening to other “experts” who shall not be named but have a #1 radio show. They have such diverse guests, I get exposed to so many new, interesting voices and ideas here.
  • brainwash01
If you like podcasts, this is one.
What can I say about these guys that hasn't already been said? Not a lot, as it turns out. Maybe listen if you want.

    Educational and entertaining
I listen to this podcast on a regular basis - it is always entertaining, frequently helps with life skills and provides some good guidelines for financial planning. And by the way, I don’t think Doug is ever going to get a shirt - just listen and you will understand.
