    Best detective podcast
The most information these detectives share on this podcast is invaluable and the team that helped them tell their stories are amazing. Best podcast ever!

I have died and gone to heaven
I love true crime and have been obsessed since 1992. Time Life did some increíble book subscriptions that my mother participated in. So at this point I feel I’ve heard it all… but the narrator is what keeps me locked in now. Joe Kenda has the most soothing and invigorating voice and tone ever. Just a head of John Walsh and Robert Stack! Love you Joe! Blessings to you and yours!

    More Joe Kenda
Being a Homicide Hunter fan, my wife and I fell in love with Joe Kenda! Please produce more with him! He is amazing! I love his insight and his demeanor!

    Really interesting perspective
Very interesting to hear from the detectives how their jobs impacted their lives and what their experiences were. Very well done! Wished the episodes were in a better sequential order for those of us binging them because they’re so short - going back to the main page every time an episode ends is cumbersome, but still give it a 5/5. Thank you to your guests for their dedication and service.

    Great for earbuds while working.
The stories and details within them are told with a raw feel to it, which is great to listen to.

Joe Kenda is the best!!! I wish he had his own podcast!!!
Listened to Joe Kenda here and on Small Town Dicks, he’s the best at podcasting. So highly intelligent, compassionate and is a natural speaker.

    This is well done
This is a great podcast so nicely and smartly put together. The detectives are knowledgable and so interesting . Very smooth to listen to . I hope this is going to continue

    Awesome podcast.
I have just discovered this podcast. Great production values, tight editing. Very interesting and entertaining. Nothing like true crime tv which settles into a formulaic and sometimes boring routine. The kind that you could miss half the program without missing a thing because the same segments get repeated before and after each advert. I hope new episodes of this podcast are planned!

    New Seasons?
Please launch new seasons!! These guys are awesome!

    Bring this back!
As a new investigator, I’ve learned so much from these experienced detectives. I’ve also enjoyed learning more about their lives and how the job impacts it. I discovered Joe Kenda actually wrote a book, which is a great resource; wouldn’t have found it if you hadn’t introduced me to him through this podcast. So I hope to see more seasons in the future. :-)

    Listening to season 3
This detective - Rod Demry is exactly the kind of guy you want to carry a badge.... Compassionate, smart, ethical and with complex history where he can see both sides of the justice system.

    Amazing Podcast!!!
Please please please, release more content!!!

Stories I like — heavy breathing... not so much.
This cast is like an audio journal by a seasoned detective. His style is a little too spun for my taste, but I do enjoy many of the stories. I just wish he would not inhale so loudly into the mike.

    Need more!!!
The tv show was cool but I feel like kenda’s voice was made for podcasts.

    All Day Long
I could listen to Joe Kenda tell stories All Day Long. He’s fantastic at it and perfect for a podcast. My only complaint is these aren’t long enough.

    Detective
I love this podcast! I have been watching Homicide Hunter on TV for a while now and when I found this podcast I was elated! Lieutenant Kenda speaks with such empathy for the victims of the cases he solved. This podcast gives so much insight on what it was like for him to be a detective and how it affected him throughout his life. I have such a great respect for him and his knowledge. Thank you for making this world a safer place!

Good stories but not my favorite
Great stories but I can’t get over the detective in season one breathing super loud into the mic - very distracting to me. The stories are really short so when they say the most interesting part at the beginning (like a teaser) it was sort of a let down when you get to that part of the actual story.
  • murmystfan
    Amazing
These are very interesting and eye opening! I love the investigative parts of a homicide. Thank you for posting these. Great to hear the stories from different demographics. 💯

    Great Podcast Music is awful
I am enjoying this podcast and the insights from the detectives but the music is too much. It distracts and I feel it’s unnecessary.

    Detective
I really enjoyed this podcast. Every detective is as extremely engaging!! THE ONLY issue I have is the frequent use of this horrible music! Who’s idea was it to play this awful music every time something profound it said or noted? Please please please re-evaluate the frequency this music is used.

    Funky music for season 2
Really good, especially season 1. Season 2 was good as well but the choice/style of music was kinda funky. I thought the music was a lil too vibrant and upbeat in contrast to the subject matter. Just didn't mesh well. Some of the transitions from the talking to the music bridges were really blunt and almost sounded like a commercial was coming on and affected the flow of the conversations for me. But still really good.
  • WhovianKK
    Really enjoying this one
I’m almost to the end of Season 1 & I’m loving it. I do agree with the reviewer who said we need a female detective’s stories. Maybe Caroline Mason from Memphis? (Fingers crossed)

    Insightful
Wasn’t sure I’d like this podcast at first, but I was WRONG! Hearing from the stories from the detectives was incredibly eye-opening. Detective Mac was a my favorite of the 3 detectives interviewed. Not only is CLT my hometown, but his take on the issues with gangs, poverty, and racism is insightful and comes from a place of deep caring. The narrator does a great job at letting the detectives tell their stories and give their opinions without interjecting or pushing any particular agenda...bravo

    I love this podcast!

    Excellent
What a great podcast! I really enjoy the way it’s put together; everything. The people and the stories allowed me to see different perspectives in in the law enforcement sphere. I really enjoy listening to this. Like someone else’s review on here, I would love to hear longer editions of this podcast! The team behind it did a great job on this.👍🏻 Thank you! 😊

What a professional and well narrated podcast
Detective is one of the best podcasts I have listened to. Production is great and the detective is a wonderful teacher and interpreter of the detective world. I loved it.

    More please!
I loved all of these... keep hoping for more... longer episodes. Fabulous storytelling!

    Over-edited and repetitive.
Stop replaying the same clips over and over!!

    Outstanding podcast!
Love this podcast. I love to hear from the detectives perspective for a change. Thank you. Also Lt. Joe Kenda is my favorite Detective of all time.

    Addictive
This podcast is probably my favorite. The only problem is they haven't posted a new episode since the Eisenhower administration.
  • Soniatsx
    Detective ID! 😊
Honestly the best podcast on here! Everything is made so detailed I can literally picture everything played out! Keep them coming! 😊

Great Inside view of men detectives
The only reason I’m not giving 5stars is because I’m mad that 3 seasons have happened and all 3 are about men. This is just another example how women are not valued as much. The detectives depicted are great and the details are amazing. I applaud all that have this job. I want to hear a woman’s perspective next. I can’t even listen to season 3 until I know that season 4 is a female and honestly the next two should be females too.

OMG the music is driving me crazy!
The show is actually really interesting, they start off by interviewing Joe Kenda, a very cool and collected, kinda cowboy ex-detective. I’ve heard from him before. He’s very straight to the point, and his insights really make you listen in. I’m on the last available episode of this podcast because I think the detectives really have interesting things to say, but dear God, the music throughout the episode is driving me crazy. It really takes away from the stories presented. It was kinda cute on the first episode, but please make it stop! Please realize that a lot of listeners binge listen to podcasts. It would be nice to hear more from the interviewer as well, she seems intelligent, but I think the listener is left with a bit of detachment from this podcast because we’re detached from the host. Some more audio excerpts from cases, or relevant interviews with other characters would be nice too. Season 2 is my favorite so far.

    Season 3 is great!

More Please!!! Whole podcast is GREAT!More Lt. Kenda
Awesome podcast. By far the best one for 2018. More Lt. Kenda stories. His voice is perfect!!!! Detective Demery - You have NOT forgiven your brother completely!!! Your a good detective, but can't seem to learn how to forgive. Work on that. Your not at peace. Visit your brother. He needs you!!!
  • Kargfoforth
    Fantastic
This podcast is just about right—if you are in to human nature, psychological insights, true crime and why It happens. The intros, music, and snippets of what is to come are polished and leave the listener wanting more. The insight of the detective is absolutely riveting. I just wish the episodes were a bit longer.
