    Excellent access
Ann McElvoy parlays her experience at the Economist into a winning podcast with excellent access to very important people.

    Tried to like it
I generally like politico and what they put out. Lately, this just feels like too much airtime for Trump sympathizers and apologists. There’s already enough of that in the political sphere, regardless of your feelings about him.

Naftali Benett I intend to be Primi Minister
Wow, this is literally on of the most racist podcast I have ever listened to. Susan Glasser dies not hold Bennett to any standard for his racist policies and seems to in 100% agreement with his views n Mideast Policy-That Israel is not the epicenter of problems. Naftali Bennett said I’ve killed a lot of Arabs in my life and I have no problem with that”. Glasser is so overly complimentary to racist Bennet it’s actually embarassing. The US is not all Pro-Israel.

The perfect podcast for new learners in the sector as well as more experienced people as well in order to grasp the current conversations in the industry!

    Politico
I would never subscribe to a magazine who tells lies and never tells the truth! Does China own you too? They now own most of my country thanks to the leadership of this country who sold us out! It is about to get real!

    We want Susan Glasser back!
    We miss her

    #episode from June 6th
Why does the rest of the entire world have to become like “US” as you repeatedly have your listener hear through your interviews, in order to the “globalized” world be “right” (meaning whatever is “right” through the USA’s lenses)? Is the USA system even the best system? Because it sounds like that’s how you see the world, and if so, this postcast is a waste of time. Both for the ones who agree with the idea that the USA’s international and national businesses as usual is the best solution and for the ones who don’t, as it gives no new inputs or perspectives to neither.

    Worth your time
With the podcast that does it all back, I’m excited after this first episode. Tune in if you’re interested in learning about complex topics, global political issues, and more

    Stop pretending
Everything learned from Trump bios? Trump has no relationships. Just people wanting to play him

Deep Dives into Pressing Foreign Policy Issues
Susan's program is top notch. Impressive line-up of guests, jouranlistic excellence in how she develops the discussion, and very timely with topics. I listen to this program regularly to better inform my work on international relations.

    The New Jackson
My first listen was to a January piece on Andrew Jackson and Jacksonian echoes in Trump's election and performance in office with a biographer. Strangely, no mention of race other than a dismissive phrase about Jackson's conventional critics. I didn't sense the guest would be reluctant or uncomfortable discussing this essential nexus of the two presidents, but Glasser avoided the obvious elephant in the podcast booth. Two stars for the author's foreign policy insights, zero for Glasser's journalism.

    Smart and Highly-Effective Journalism
My favorite podcast for thoughtful commentary on geopolitical topics. High-calibur guests!

    very important information
I am impressed by the interviewer, her guests, and the range of topics. It is refreshing to listen to thoughtful interviews where the questions are meaningful, and the guests are given time to formulate thoughtful answers. I am also impressed by Susan’s depth and breadth of knowledge.

    Top of its class
Great interviews, timely topics, and top-flight guests make this amongst the best of the international affairs shows and the one of a handful of podcasts I make sure to keep up with, no matter how busy I get.

    Listen to this!
Susan Glasser is a wonderful interviewer and I have especially appreciated her knowledge and exchanges about Russia.
  • mrwonderful55
Good but doesn’t follow up on fibs from guests
She needs to follow up on some of the comments made by people she’s interviewing. Otherwise good discussion.

    Never fails
Week after week I am excited when Susan Glasser’s podcast drops into my basket, and I’ve yet to be disappointed. Smart & interesting — what more could one want?

    Excellent Interviewer, Outstanding Guests
This is a very important podcast. Recommend this to legislators and staff. Susan does a great job with knowledageble guests. She is well prepared, of course, but also flexible to allow the interview to move into unexpected terrain. She lets the subject speak for itself. "All sides" should pay attention to her work here.

Left leaning to a fault, haphazard production
Are you looking for objective conversations or analysis? Maybe you want balanced conversation about key issues. Or maybe you’d like the host & moderator to be less biased. I’m afraid you won’t find it here. Now do you like your interviews with a heavy dose of democrat talking points & international globalism that always finds fault with the US? You’ve come to the right place. This is boilerplate Politico leftist opinions at its finest. And although the guests come from both sides of the political isle, the interviews are always slanted to try & get the guest to decry anything that isn’t progressive leftist ideology. Susan Glasser’s obvious progressive liberal leanings always filter the conversations. She can’t help but to include them. So know before you listen what you’ll get. Production values are all over the place. One episode the audio is potted way too high with distortion or background noise. And another is filled with echoes or low quality sound. Needs considerable work on that front.

    Exclusive Interviews
Susan is a phenomenal interviewer. All of her guests are high-profile politicians and each conversation is highly relevant. Great podcast for anyone interested in foreign policy.
  • Megkhart
Good topics but interviews seem forced
I read Politico so I enjoy the work of Glasser in print. However, in podcast form the interviews seem forced. It sounds like Glasser has an agenda for the interview before it starts instead of letting the interview lead itself.
  • correctly informed
    No point
This is a crappy podcast, they mention trumps name and laugh, comment on middle America suggesting most did not go to college and laugh. Talk about how to get dems back in power but never talk about what the voters want just what they want. Were are listening and we're are not all white. We have the internet and do our own research. No one cares what actors say.
  • Ariel3396
    The new Bill Moyers?
I think so! This is easily the best political podcast I've been able to find (and it beats the "Sunday shows" as well). Rather than featuring an endless stream of professional opinion makers (mere observers) carping about the end of our democracy, Glasser engages in nuanced conversations with the real players who have, or have had, positions of real power. Ok, some other shows occasionally do the same, but her incisive questions are such as to elicit from her guests insights that are alternately surprising, enlightening, frustrating, fascinating, boring...

    One of the best!
I absolutely love this podcasts. Glasser is incredibly smart and probing. She is an excellent host

    Amazingly insightful
Susan Glasser has this amazing cleared eyed presence that lends this podcast an air of dignity that is much needed these days. Her guests are experts in their fields and bring a sense of security and understanding to volatile and complicated topics.

This is An Entree of a Podcast
Susan Glaser is like a nicer Kara Swisher but about Politics not Tech. She was the first person to humanize Condie Rice for me. It's a nice, adult balance to more incendiary or lighter fare. Thank you Susan for being so smart!
  • ikeldin
    Love it!
So insightful and thorough. I look forward to every episode.

Fan of the podcast so I was surpise...
Great podcast, yet JT Rogers is far from the only playwright setting their work against the grand scale of world events. He frames his work differently but there are many - Lynn Nottage, Rajiv Joseph, Lee Blessing, Winter Miller, Mona Mansour, Stefanie Zadravec, Mia Chung
  • erika____
    awesome !!
Awesome podcast, easy to understand for those who aren't international relations experts. Having two (so far) interviews with prime ministers of foreign nations as well as guests of different political viewpoints and backgrounds makes for less of a biased podcast than can sometimes be seen from Politico.
  • MartinBishop
    Same old same old
I had high hopes for this podcast but there are absolutley no perspectives from the left. The Chris Murphy episode was especially cringeworthy and a perfect example of what's wrong with this podcast. Murphy claims Obama just didn't have the tools to do good things and that forced him to..you know..drone weddings.
  • lafrancaise2
    my absolute favorite
I listen to this podcast religiously. This long-term view was missing in modern political reportage. Susan is absolutely brilliant.

Informative, intelligent, creative and easy to listen to
While i am crazy addicted to listening to the news these days to make sure we are still intact, I slow down and go deeper easily with Susan and her guests who are always thoughtful, highly experienced in whatever their area and also easy ot understand. I am ridiculously uninformed about world affairs but Susan and her guests give just enough background so i can keep up. Thank goodness for people like Susan doing these fabulous podcasts and keeping us sane and informed. Fabulous episode today on "Oslo" for a change of pace.

    One of the best
Great guests, insightful, and relevant. Overall one of the best political podcasts.

Compelling and high quality interviews - unmissable
Excellent companion to The Economist Radio podcast (which I thought was incomparable) - Susan's perfectly poised and well mannered style together with such A-list guests makes this podcast a delight (and helps to fill in the gaps since Diane Rehms Friday International Hour went off air)

    Enjoyable Information
I'm impressed with the quality of this podcast. Susan Glasser is a thoughtful, well informed interviewer who manages to uncover details about today's news that would otherwise go unnoticed.
  • Lizm007
    Meh...
However, Condalezza Rice episode is amazing. I have a new respect for Condi. I feel like Susan Glasser was a bit out of her league on that interview, but she was respectful to a difference of opinion. These days, that is commendable.
