    Smart and funny English guys
    Smart? Brilliant. Genius actually.

    Really going downhill...
This show is turning into a really ego trip for the presenters. Too much time given to their self-regarding comments and virtue-signalling. What was enjoyable about this originally (and made it connect with people so well) was its accessibility and that it just did science. Now its vanity and wokeness...please don't keep doing this and please never, never, have Jo Brand on again. She brings nothing

    Lose the laugh track
The content seems fun and interesting but the canned laughter makes it absolutely unlistenable. Whose idea was that?

So much more than a podcast.
Eloquent banter, naughty jokes, introduction to scientists, science and books from around the world. This is so much more than a science podcast. It is an inspiration to live out your dreams. I love the jokes and I love the science, and I love learning new names, discovering new books and hearing people talk passionately and excitedly about this world of ours.

    Best… Podcast… Ever.
From deep space to spider sex. Unexplainably perfect. Hosts are magical and naughty and open and kind. Quenches my wanderlust for things of dreams… feels like going through a secret door into a raunchy pub full of happy, wild, soulful, brilliant humans.

    Huge Fan… BUT
Generally speaking, it’s a fun and fascinating show. I’m just not a fan of Science as a vehicle to promote your political beliefs. The Science Party goes against everything science should be. Politics permeates everything these days.

    The title is self-explanatory

Laughter from live audience is annoying
This might be a great podcast but when the audience laughs at things I don’t find funny it is really annoying. It might as well be a sitcom with a laugh track.

    Laugh track is awful
I was really excited for this podcast, seemed like a perfect mix of science delivered in an entertaining and funny way. The content was clearly there from what I heard. The laugh track is truly an inexcusable decision, it adds absolutely nothing and absolutely destroys any funny moments.

    I love the science but.
The dry sense of humor, and the canned laughter is absolutely atrocious. I don’t really feel the need to mix science with humor anymore.

It’s not worth the paywall. If you used to like this, try No Such Thing as a Fish or something else free.

    Great show, boo hiss BBC
The monkey cage is always marvelous. I am shocked that BBC has made their service available only for subscription. That stinks.

    Subscription only???
I love this show. So I am saddened to find that we apparently must pay to listen...? Not just listen early and/or ad free; but to listen at all. Am I missing something? Does it not behoove everyone to make science communication freely accessible to all? Include ads if its needs some source of funds, fine. Just make science communication freely accessible even if we must endure a few ads. Please tell me I’ve just missed something and it’s free to listen with ads…

Good except for the fake laughs
I just discovered this show and enjoy listening to the episodes on subjects I am not familiar with. But please, stop the track laughs, it sounds so fake!

Funny Insightful and Full of Information
Be warned this show only comes out occasionally but it's so worth keeping on your feed. The show is always funny and entertaining. The best part is all the information and funny but rational insights it brings. It's so easy and fun to listen to that I forget sometimes how much I have learned from it. Try it out and see how much your smiling at the end!

    Maybe It's Over?
I like the idea and this podcast has had its moments in the past. The best episodes have included those with astronauts, for example, However, I am starting to wonder if the format has run its course. The episode on the "Science of Cooking" was an absolute low-point: not informative on either science or cooking, not interesting and not funny. The problem with the format is that some of the comedians have really nothing to add - and in fact derail any coherent content, struggling to say anything that could be remotely construed as intelligent or funny. And what was with gratuitous jokes about Jim Al-Khalili in the Neaderthals episode? Questionable. He actually has an informative podcast while this one is in danger of lacking any informative content.

What is up with the laugh track
Great content but the laugh track/editing pulls me out of the show and I can’t stand it. It’s like listening to an 80’s sitcom.

    Best of the best
One of the best podcasts on science
  • KarmaLee1235678975445775467
    Great podcast
I love this podcast, especially the quantum physics, dinosaur and human origins. I love how you somehow get the perfect balance of entertainment and science to the point where I really enjoy listening to this in my free time! Great job!

    All time best science/humor
I am SO happy you’re back. Living those pandemic months without new episodes was excruciating. Your science/humor combo is absolutely the best. Thank you!

    The best science/comedy app
No question that this is the best science/comedy app out there. You gotta listen to every episode of MONKEY CAGE. Is that strawberry alive?

    Time
Without it we couldn’t cure disease, end racism, put one foot in front of the other. We wouldn’t have a heartbeat, pull air into our lungs, exit our mother’s womb. Yes, we pass away, but we learn from time passing. Without that, what fun would life be? Thanks for giving us things to think about!

    Top of my library
I don’t know if it’s the British accents, the guests, the comedy, or the science. But I’m into it.

    Unnecessary humor
Humor feels unnecessary and is most times distracting while focusing on understanding the content of these discussions.

    Brits and Trump
Geez, Trump is really inside the heads of these Brit scientists.
  • K1LLKASP3R
    Great science.
But please stop being so political and dissing Donald Trump. Gets old hearing all you super brilliant minds trying to disrespect America.

    Quality content
The best podcast I have discovered. As the new generation would say. “No cap”

    Science & Comedy
Very few podcasts nail the Science & Comedy genre. This one is arguably the best.

    Hmm
This show would be way better without the laugh track.

Love the theme. Hate eu praise!
Stumbled upon this feature on my iPad mini after hearing Parker Posey would be in new podcast mini series. Very first podcast I subscribed and listened to, “Brits in space” was sullied with e.u. praise. As a American that has awoken to the reality of Multinational entities that own over 90 percent of all media we absorb have no interest in the advancement of society through healthy competition. But would rather subdue the masses rendering them voiceless and without opinions so they can carry on pilfering all they lay claim to.

    So good
Great experts, great comedians, priceless comedy, thought provoking reflections.

    Great Podcast!
The best science podcast. Would appreciate a return to more physics and mathematics though...last few seasons have not had much. Really like guests Fay Dauker (sic) and Jeff Forshaw. Also like comedian Andy Hamilton, and Ross Noble is outrageous. But my favorite is the somewhat serious Brian Cox and appreciate his efforts to keep Robin and the panel on topic. Wish this podcast were on more frequently. Have listened to past episodes several times already.

Your lack of understanding of chemistry is cute!
I’m not saying we don’t appreciate the fundamental particles, oh sorry...the tiny particle de jour, but being able to create unique reactions sort of makes chemists, well...like the Greek gods. In fact, if you look closely at Botticelli’s Birth of Venus, you’ll notice she is wearing goggles as she steps off the half shell! But keep going...it’s by far the best podcast available!,

    Great show
I love your show and I think you should call it the infinite (in all directions) monkey cage. Just to stop the criticism of the title
  • neale64
British humour & irreverence at its best
Once again the BBC outdoes itself with a witty and educational creation which does not talk down to its audience. The quality of guests from Fry, (Picard) Stewart to Dawkins is unsurpassed.
