Right wing drivel overwhelms any science
The science reporting is okay but the host and the guests insert right wing political stupidity into the episodes.
  • macdon763
    Informative with extra loud commercials
Like: Great information presented well. Do not like: Frequent and jarring, painfully loud commercials. Would prefer longer, more infrequent commercial breaks with content offered at normal volumes.

    Great show!
Navigating the vastness of space through this podcast is both enlightening and captivating. It's a journey that feeds the curiosity without overwhelming, making the cosmos feel just a tad closer. Deirdre

    Great podcast
I get more interesting and varied news from this podcast than any other single news source.
  • mizage
    Pretty good
Pretty good except for his rants about “main stream media”.
  • MarkChicagoIL
    Launches
Why do non-health focused podcasters feel the need to talk about Covid-19? Most of most episodes are recordings of launches. It gets a little old. 10.21.20: Another report on COVID and climate change and cognitive decline. Why? 01.08.23… more recorded rocket launches. Boring. Would rather listen to SpaceNuts.

    Could improve
Has some relevant content but the rest is not as is mostly other news. Also it’s exhausting to keep being interrupted by the loud commercials about marijuana which I’m NOT a fan of.
  • Ztrippin
    Boring
Recycling content. Too many commercials. Like soooo many commercials. These guy just scalp other recordings and play them as their own. Talk about it for 15 seconds. And call it a podcast. Garbage anymore.
  • Joandvince2
    Great content, terrible production
The data is great. It’s well read and the guest speakers are great. The commercials are turned up so loud it blows my ears out and who ever produces the commercials do things like scream in your ear, cough, grunt and whine really high pitched ridiculously rude and annoying childish antics. Who wants to hear someone smacking down a mouthful of potato chips on volume 11? My one huge gripe about the content is the repetitive launch countdowns. Omg. We know how too count backwards from 10 already. There is nothing intriguing about listening to that at all. Stuart bro you have a great voice and a good show hiding in a soup of nasty.

    Solid useful information
I enjoyed Space Time with Stuart Gary. I have gotten useful perspectives on things from outside the US. Good detailed reporting. Some reports from other sources he uses are hard to follow. Sound quality sometimes slips. I only quit listening because of pay wall. Retired and not wanting to add new expenses.

    Got to weird
The reports on space exploration were good. The obsession with crackpot ideas and disinformation has grown tiring.
  • Eric620
    Took a slide
Show took a slide. It was originally a good space news report with occasional opinions in support of saving the earth from man made climate change and some Sagan like words about the dangers of superstition. Then as time wore on, a competitiveness with China turned to conspiracy theories and then a full turn against anything perceived as lefty. What happened to the space news? Sad

    Raw audio and xenophobia
Decent podcast, I appreciate the additional news on other fields. But I don’t appreciate the lengthy raw audio of launches, they all sound the same and add nothing to the show. Also seems host is vaguely xenophobic against non western nations, especially China. Science is about objective facts not your “weird” opinions

    Where are you?
    Need my SpaceTime.
  • olivercareyy
    Annoying
Blatantly anti-leftist. Let’s keep politics out of astronomy please.
  • Eddie Hazel11
    Ads ads ads ads ads
    Wayyyy too many commercials. GREEDY.
  • brianjgriffith
Science news with anti-Leftist propaganda thrown in
I generally enjoyed these episodes, but I quite simply had enough of the anti-Leftist and anti-Chinese side points that Gary so obviously loves to get sidetracked with. No bother—there’s lots of other noteworthy science programs.
  • Astrodoc71
    Generally very good except
Great podcast except for the detailed coverage of routine satellite launches. Those take up a lot of time and put you to sleep. I would not use up podcast time with that.
  • RADICALFISHBIT
    Nothing but ads for VPNs
Very annoying show to listen to. Constantly cutting to commercials - makes it very hard to listen to. Better options out there. Pass.

    Let me explain something.
Podcast is an audio medium. That means we LISTEN to it. Please stop interviewing Rajjit Kuldressha CEO of Space Machines until you can get him on a better audio connection, and also, maybe do something about the aviary in which the interviews are conducted. (Please apply this advice to all interviews) Otherwise, love the show. I have to skip over the space vehicle launches due to boredom though. You could reduce the length of the show if you skip the unnecessary previews of every segment before and after every segment. (A shorter program would be preferable to a long one stuffed with filler)
  • DPhiggins
    Frequent misinformation
I was blown away today when I heard that “covid19 likely escaped a lab in China” in today’s episode followed up by some politics about censorship in relation to pvt tech companies who’s terms of service has been violated by a user and then subsequently removing them from the platform. Aka Trump and other people who routinely violate the terms and have had their account suspended. The top review here mentions this show is free from politics, quite the opposite, it’s frequently invaded by the kind of dog whistles and conspiracy jargon peddled by the radical right conspiracy theorists. Reported this show to Apple for spreading dangerous misinformation under the guise of science.
  • jaymanutah
Listened for decades but I’m done with the right wing bias.
No doubt you are an intellect, but you present accusations without evidence. Example: covid 19 escaped from a Chinese lab.
  • DerfL
    Good but biased
I really enjoyed this podcast initially, but the longer I listened it became clear the the host has some issues with his female guests and he spouts conspiracy theories about China and the pandemic.
  • sokobanz
Political bias force me to move from that show
As well as “China Virus” phrase wich have right to be, COVID19 actually from china and i got no problem with that, but after “First amendment” episode, man, so sad. First amendment basically tell us that GOVERNMENT can’t be censor. Twotter,Facebook or all of the apps together have nothing to do with First amendment.
  • crazyleggs77
    Excellent program
It is so refreshing to a science podcast that avoids politicised science and reports the information relatively free of politics. Most American or British science podcast have a strong political component that has no place in science.
  • ScienceControl
    Regurgitating Russian Disinfo
Literally regurgitating debunked Hunter Biden email garbage. I thought this was supposed to about astronomy. I’m not interested in the hosts right wing conspiracy theories.
  • Mr Dextrose
    Going Downhill Rapidly
I’ve been a subscriber for over 10 years but I’m canceling. Too much filler of launch commentary, more rants about China etc. Also his habit of trying to show the interviewee that he knows the subject by interjections has grown tiresome.
  • Bagpiper4
    Biden email?
What is a Fox News story about Biden’s sons computer doing on an astronomy podcast? I just unsubscribed.

    The Gold Standard
... no one does science podcasting better than Stuart Gary! He presents current discoveries and observations with clear and understandable explanations. I look forward to each episode!
  • pat from Oak Park Il
    Sound Quality Terrible!
It is a very good show but sounds like it was recorded inside a metal garage can. When the ads come on you hear soothing professional sound then it goes back to this guy’s tinny screaming.
  • Jetman51
    Adequate Summary
The podcast does a decent job of summarizing current space/astronomy-related developments. Be prepared for: 1. The podcaster's essentially telling you ahead of time what an interviewee is going to say, in pretty much the same words; 2. Boring, seemingly-endless chatter from PR-types and technicians in connection with launches, (probably to fill podcast time); and 3. Frequent stories about "climate change" (and the supposed mental deficiencies or maladies of those who question the matter), the latest health scares, and other politically-correct matters having little or nothing to do with space, time, or spacetime. Nevertheless, liberal use of fast-forward will allow you to get an adequate update on matters of actual interest in about five to ten minutes of listening time.
  • LastOfTheLabRats
    Loss of focus
Can we separate the news part of Space Time from the Skeptics’ rants & social sciences news that is occupying an increasing amount of time in the podcast? Perhaps two different podcasts could stand or fall on their own with less schizophrenia.

    Love it, but...
Love this podcast, but Stu Gray is know-it-all who thinks he has to "jump" real scientists with their own words and discoveries instead of being the idiot journalist he is. Stu, get over it, you are not a scientist and would know a black hole from a a-hole. QUIT PUTTING YOURSELF INTO THE STORY
  • phil ryan
    thank you
I love you and the show!! Thank you!

    Good podcast
Good podcast...though some of their opinions and research is slighly skewed when expounding on sociological effects and studies.
  • CrazyGabey
No better podcast for keeping up with an expanding universe!
I don't have time to dig through science journals, but I also consider myself to be an enthusiast of the cosmos. Stuart solves my problem by sharing the biggest news in all of spacetime each week on Spacetime!

    Great space podcast
SpaceTime is very useful if you want to be up to speed on all things space without having to sift through all the bad science reporting out there. Stuart knows his stuff and interviews experts from time to time. It’s the best.

    Just Excellent
Was very sad when Starstuff was axed. So glad to find Stuart Gary is still at it with this new podcast.

The place for the latest space news
I listen to get the very latest news on astronomy, astrophysics, and space technology. A bit too much of an Australian bent, but the guy's from down under, so ....

    The BEST Astronomy Podcast
I have listened to several different astronomy podcasts over the years. This one is far and away the best. It is the only one I make sure never to miss. Although Mr. Gary is apparently a scientific layman, the depth and breadth of his knowlege of astronomy, and space science are truly impressive. He obviously does not read just the popular literature. He on top of the important professional journals. This enables him to ask wonderfully insightful questions in his interviews of practicing scientists. I also enjoy his condensed audio feeds from space launches. I could go on and on, but I won't bore you. If you are interested in astronomy, listen to a couple of episodes of SpaceTime. You will be hooked.
  • VangsnesWarrior
    Most Informative Space Podcast!

Excellent Astronomy and Space Exploration Podcast
My wife and I have been long time listeners to this podcast. We were so incredibly sad when it was briefly cancelled by ABC (Australia). It is a great podcast for those interested in astronomy and space exploration. We appreciate that the topics are covered in greater detail than most news shows give these topics, and Stuart Gary does a great job lining up interviews with real experts on the topics.
