    I’ve gotten through the backlog and enjoyed almost every minute of it! Being a listener from the States I still enjoy hearing about the restaurants and food out of my reach. I can only hope to hear the bonus episodes sometime without having to pay(there is advertising for that). Love show, please keep up the good work Jay! Jim

    Really enjoyable - mostly
    Up to the Jimmy Carr episode, I think I had enjoyed every one of these interviews and eagerly looked forward to the download on Mondays. It sounded from the interview that Jay does not like Jimmy Carr and I can only imagine how uncomfortable it must have felt having lunch together. It was certainly uncomfortable listening to it. Hopefully Jay will stick to people whose company he enjoys and I can go back to looking forward to these podcasts, instead of squirming in my seat and wishing it would stop.

    Brilliant Idea/Brilliant Podcast
    I discovered Jay via the London episode of Parts Unknown, where he sat with Anthony Bourdain at St John restaurant chatting over roasted bone marrow. I was intrigued to know more about him, so I looked him up and discovered that he's everywhere. Aside from being a noted food critic, he's also an author of a series of food-based books; he's a fabulous pianist with his jazz combo, whose album you can find on iTunes; finally, he's a great interviewer on Out To Lunch. Not long after discovering Jay on Parts Uknown in 2019, he announced that he was starting a podcast. I searched it out and started listening right from episode 1 with Richard E Grant. In 74 episodes, I have discovered so many wonderful and interesting people I might have never found out about had it not been for Jay and Out To Lunch. Jess Phillips, Jo Brand, and Guy Garvey are just a few of the fabulous guests that Jay has interviewed. If you haven't listened to Out To Lunch, I recommend that you subscribe and dive in; $ 2.99 a month is nothing. You will not regret it.

    Interesting, but flawed
    I enjoy the podcast talking to interesting folks from our culture, but Jay Rayner is the Marmite of podcast hosts - you either love Jay or you hate him. He is clearly an engaging conversationalist with his guests, but his ego, does sometimes get in the way of his guest, which I find off putting. I assume (it sounds as such from Jay’s comments, but I’m not 100% sure) the food is provided to Jay free of charge by the relevant restaurant, which, given the pandemic and the hospitality industry’s struggles, it would be nice to see them paid (surely a sponsor can pony up the money?).

    Stumbled across this earlier this week and have been glued to it. Janet Godley, Eddie Marsan, David Baddiel and London Hughes so far and all really interesting and not laden with blatant promotion of their latest project. I highly recommend this

    Great podcast, insightful interviews and delicious food
    A friend of mine turned me onto the podcast, and I am glad that she did. I was vaguely familiar with the host and enjoy his critics of restaurants- playful, revealing, and informed. The podcast offers a great conversation over the mouth watering descriptions of the food. I can’t wait for the next season, hurry back Jay!

    Born in Herne Hill, London where Jay lives, I now live in California and listening to this brilliant podcast allows me to continue to indulge in the vibrant London restaurant scene which I miss. We’re able to keep up with the motherland. Jay is a fantastic interviewer and his guests are getting better & better.     Great podcast!
    I’m in the US and had never heard of Jay before so I stumbled across this podcast. I really enjoy his comments on food and he has an excellent rapport with his guests. The ones with Mel C from the Spice Girls was the best, closely followed by Alex Kingston. I wanted to like the episode with Jamie Dornan but that guy mumbled and talked with his mouth full often so he was hard to understand. Hilariously, Jay did inquire about the “modesty piece” that Jamie wore in 50 Shades.

    Discovered this rare truffle of a podcast and now I’m addicted to its top qualities. Stories and conversation steeped in umami and completed with a finishing salt of top restaurant tips and Jay’s inimitable charm… And apparently he plays the intro and outro music as well!
