    Bad history teacher
Dummy downed, politically slanted, poor production often distracting. Far too many commercials.

    Love the Podacst
I just finished the series on WW1. I really enjoyed it and learned much more about out history. Great job! Keep up the good work! I have added your podcasts to my library! DG

    Super!
Did you think you learned about history in school? You probably only scratched the surface! These are some deep dives into very interesting topics! I always enjoy this show. It’s such great quality. The sound effects add a lot to the show and the levels are perfect with the levels of the host, so they don’t blow your ear drums when they come on or they don’t overpower the host when they’re meant to be background. It’s entertaining, educational, and no political bias. I even revisit episodes often!

    Great
High production value. Decently balanced. I was looking for a good history podcast that seemed more like a history class. Most of the ones I come across are either “weird history” or “history of headlines” type shows. While this doesn’t flow quite like a class curriculum, it’s easy enough to navigate, and it follows “major” historical events, but includes some deep dives. The “acting” can get a bit hokey, but it gets better as they add voice actors. And it’s not distracting.

    Specific advertisers get me down
Love listening to this podcast! I just really wish I could opt out of the ads that are for alcohol or the stuff you’re supposed to drink before drinking alcohol so you don’t “feel terrible.” I’m a recovering alcoholic and it’s just kinda yucky to me. 😕

    Lose the dramatizations
They add nothing to the podcast and often keep me from listening. Also, there’s an R in forward.

    Great series
Ive listened through darn near all the seasons and have enjoyed them all. Its a great way to get some behind the scenes looks at how history has been made. Stories are told in a way that you really can picture the moments and come away with some knowledge and maybe a change of heart on how you viewed the history makers.
  • Kelkatree
    Fantastic!
Stories are presented in a very relatable format. Love the immersive feel of it. Somewhat reminiscent of time travel. Great production.
  • Master Pipe Layer
    Great job!
If you are looking for suggestions I would recommend looking into the Kensington Ruenstone.

    Amazing podcast!

If you love all things espionage
Great podcast. It’s like a spy novel only true to life. So very interesting to learn about real accounts of espionage throughout history. I hope there are more stories to come.

Listened to the reconstruction era. Y’all need to study history a lot more. Especially about the south. How did African Americans get here? It wasn’t the American people that brought them here. And you also need to look into how African American people were sold to traders buy there own people🤔. Get the facts straight!!

    Great podcast for history buffs
AHT is probably my favorite podcast. Def top 5. Thanks for all the great content Lindsay!

    Love learning details about history
I have learned details about pieces of history I don’t remember learning about in school. The podcasts interesting to listen to and seems to take great care in having accurate details.
  • mjj-88
    Great host and content
The Wondery team does a great job of taking both known and obscure historical events and breaking them into enjoyable bite size pieces. I would love to see them do a series on the Dust Bowl soon!

    Truly loved
This podcast started an almost year long kick of only listening to history podcasts. I’ve truly learned so much & expanded my knowledge on history I was already familiar with

    Thank you.
I am a 60+ black American. I knew a lot that I learned in school but your podcast episodes taught me some things I did not know. Especially about the sympathetic Quakers ofNew Garden North Carolina. North Carolina is my home state but I did not grow up there. I have family there. It’s interesting how some of the current Guilford County historical websites (formally New Garden) make no mention of the abolitionist history. in this age of “book, banning” and “white washing” of black American history in slavery, your podcast does a tremendous service.

I really enjoyed this! I am new to podcasts… I look forward to listening to more of yours. Keep them coming!!!

    BC/AD
Would be nice if historians started using BC/AD again. CE/BCE refer to the same event, even Neil DeGrasse Tyson admits this. 🙄

    Typical Left Agenda
If you want to listen to pro woke, anti American, liberal agenda pacifist’s, this is the podcast for you.

History made fascinating! (Ignore a few bigoted haters)
Best thing I’ve ever followed. Engaging interesting and deeply informative. I have been particularly struck by the objective and evenhanded recounting of our very checkered American history. Finding those very few criticisms of the show as being biased, or woke, to be quite amusing. Idiots.

    Bad
Really cringey and badly written. Also woke

    Those who forget history …
Great archive of relevant and interesting historical events. Amazing how often history repeats itself.

    Awesome!!!
Me and my dad listen to this together and we love it. I’m fifteen and I literally eat sleep and breathe this podcast. Lindsey Graham is a seriously talented storyteller. Keep it up man!!
  • USAmericanHistoryBuff
    Was good at one pint.
I loved this podcast in the beginning, I felt for the most part it was an unbiased retelling of history aside from the guest interviews at the end of each season, but as the season progress I’m finding the narrative is starting lean heavily to one side.

Great content but wrong on Reagan
Look Lindsey Graham is great and his content is probably the best out there BUT I was disappointed on something he got wrong about Reagan. He made Reagan sound like a hero for changing his ideologies like he was a truly deep philosopher but he wasn’t. He was flipped and manipulated into his later life ideology by the FBI and his second wife Nancy “Throat Goat” Reagan. It’s actually a really Fascinating story of how he was basically brain washed like they said the communists were doing to us in the 50s.

    Thank you!
My kids love the show! It’s the only educational program they willingly listen to.

The only podcast I will listen to
I’m 13 and not kidding you, when we go on long drives it’s all I can listen to. Me and my dad both love it. It’s SOOO good!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
  • Best podcast ever created
    This podcast is awesome
I’m just so happy that there are so many people that like history just like me
  • JPG4285
Broad range of interesting topics covered
A broad range of American history is covered and each season looks at how Americans are affected across a wide spectrum. So much of American history repeats itself, and this show makes it quite clear that we don’t often learn from the horrors of our history….

Season 63 American Authors - John Steinbeck
Thanks for Season 63 on American Authors. I didn’t know much about them except for John Steinbeck, and that particular episode was “right on,” including the description of the Salinas Valley/Monterey Peninsula. A prior employer of mine had attended Stanford University when Steinbeck was there. The employer also had at one time accompanied John’s father and stopped by Steinbeck’s house. John was very disheveled and the employer hear his father ask him, “Are you still writing that junk?” Monterey County now embraces Steinbeck in many different ways, including Cannery Row (Monterey).

    So helpful for school
I am in 8th grad and go to a Christian school. Because I I go to a Christian school they incorporate God into everything. Don’t get me wrong I love to learn about God but I also like to learn about history. This podcast has helped me pass all of my tests when most in my class would fail. When I went on a American history family trip I could say facts about almost every stop we were at. There are a lot of adds but how else is this podcast meant to make money. I love this podcast and so as every person I have recommended it to.

    Enduring legacy of james baldwin
Complete waste of time. Really don’t need to listen to some moron black lives matter advocate whine and complain. If guests like this continue to be featured will be canceling soon.

    Less adds! 😩
Great story telling, though I hate having to pause what I’m doing and skip adds every 5 minutes. 😤

    Point of view
It’s easy to follow, informative, and I feel like I’m right there ! Love it💕 Very powerful and exciting!!!

    Informative and Fun
In depth accounts of really important events and eras of American history. Some well known and many others are more in depth backgrounds and explanations with great context. So well researched and entertaining, I can’t wait to follow where this podcast expands because I’m burning through the backlog at an incredible rate!

    Educational, entertaining, well made
Great podcast. It is educational, entertaining, and well made. The host’s voice is fitting, and the sound quality is good. We like the little imaginary first person segments that place you in the setting of the story. My son and I have learned a lot while driving to and from school!

    Fascinating
Great storytelling, content, and history that we all need to be educated/re-educated on.

    Lindsay Graham
I love Lindsay Graham and all of his podcasts. His podcast are well researched, well written, and very well done all around. Let’s not forget how talented he is when it comes to music and sound design. The dude is top tier, and the only reason I have a Wondery subscription.

    So happy I found this
This is absolutely amazing! I’m a history nerd, and I’m so intrigued in this. I’ve heard the Cold War, and on the last episode of prohibition, I can’t wait to see what the rest of the seasons cover. Mr. Graham makes this so easy to understand, and always leaves you wanting more!
  • Rolth
    So far ok
So far it’s ok, I’m starting from season - the Cold War. I’ve already found one thing he has gotten wrong though. He keeps saying Russia (I can’t spell the actual man’s name) decided not to launch any nuclear weapons at the U.S.. In reality, he did, but one of the men on the sub that was supposed to launch the missile decided he could not stomach being responsible for the end of the world and did not turn the key. I just wonder how many other small things will be wrong.

    100/10!
American history isn’t the easiest subject to follow, and has always been a personal struggle for me to be invested in due to it’s and complicated nature. This podcast had me absolutely CAPTIVATED. The host has a very pleasing voice and an impressive story-telling style of speech. He is able to create a vivid and relatable story of historical events that even a history novice can follow. Absolutely amazing podcast. Thank you for creating it and sharing it with the world.

It is supported by a gen0cidal regime

    History comes to life
I absolutely love these podcasts. They make History come to life and are so interesting! The host has a great story telling voice. Thank you so much for these podcasts. I’m learning more than I ever did in school.

    Too many ads
Good stories are buried in ads.

    Rethink your ads
I really liked this “based on a true story” style show until he started doing ads for I*real while they’re committing gen*cide 🍉

    Thank you!
I unfortunately didn’t go to school pass 9th grade, teen mom, worked to provide for my son and unfortunately didn’t give school its respect. Thank you for taking the time and doing this podcast! I now in my 40’s want to learn everything! So well made 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

    Great podcast; nobody’s perfect
A couple small gripes, but still a five star review. I often skip the episodes with a guest speaker interview. The podcast is so entertaining on its own that you can feel the energy die off when he brings in a guest speaker. Guest speakers lack Lindsay’s storytelling abilities and they don’t add anything to the podcast. Lindsay Graham is a great storyteller. So much so that I prefer his own voice reenactments over the voice actors of some of the later episodes. The voice actors seem amateurish, but it doesn’t stop me from listening at all. Some other reviews complain about left-leaning storytelling, and yes I hear that too, but I’m smart enough to limit my left-leaning intake without getting mad about it. Our history books in grade school were biased and sanitized too; get over it! I’m relearning a ton of American history in an entertaining way, and my kids like it too. Lindsay is migrating some of his content to the “Into History” platform and I’ve followed him over there too. Overall, Lindsay Graham puts out great podcasts.
