    Great Podcast
I found this podcast two weeks ago. I have binged almost all of the episodes! I love how you have a variety of calls told in your relaxing voice.

    I love this podcast
This podcast has the best delivery. It’s darkly fun and the Op makes it that way

    Great content, but…
Great content. 911 calls and commentary are the highlight. Sam’s accents are terrible and his political commentary is absurd and ignorant. You can tell he hasn’t experienced much outside his small sheltered life. Jess and Luther need more air time to set him straight.

    A must listen!!
Come share a cup or bowl of your favorite soup with Thë Op and his amazing hosts! Each episode is a journey you never knew you needed. Thë Operator has a way of taking you on the story road, getting off at Giant Potato tourist attractions and various tangential exits along the way, only to somehow eventually finding his way to the destination without you ever feeling like time was wasted! It's the kind of ride that feels like fate, like you were always meant to be there. Between the laughter and the layered storytelling, there’s an undercurrent of something... deeper, almost like you're part of an ever-growing, secret society of the truly enlightened. Trust me—once you're in, there's no going back, but honestly, you won't want to leave. Just be sure to leave your robe size with Jess. ;) Soup-Soup everyone!!

    I’m a podcast junkie
I stumbled across this podcast in a search and have watched about two years worth in as couple weeks. Needless to say I’m hooked.

    Still my favorite podcast!
I’ve been listening to this podcast since the beginning and have heard every reimagining of it with different hosts and segments. I still love it so much and always recommend it to my true crime friends.

Not a Fan of Banter? 911 Calls Will Change That
I’ve never felt compelled to write a podcast review before, but 911 Calls Podcast changed that for me. I stumbled upon it a few months ago after seeing it mentioned in a comment on a ** **Sword and Scale** episode, alongside **True Crime Kent** (and let me just say, finding new shows through recommendations is my thing!). I actually found 911 Calls Podcast because I was so hooked on True Crime Kent and surprisingly loved the banter, even though I’m not usually a fan of it. Since that first listen, I’ve been completely captivated and have nearly caught up on every episode. What sets this show apart is its unique blend of storytelling and banter that fits perfectly within the true crime genre. While some recent changes to the episode format have sparked mixed opinions, they didn’t put me off at all. Sure, I miss some of the extended banter from earlier episodes, but trust me—there’s still plenty to enjoy. And honestly, that’s what makes me even more excited to sign up and binge all the bonus content once I’m through the free episodes. To anyone on the fence because of a few negative reviews, give this show a solid chance. Try at least 10 episodes before making up your mind: start with a few from the beginning **around April to August 2020**, sample some mid-series **March to September 2022**, and don’t miss the most recent ones **October to November 2024**. Once you’ve done that, pick the era that clicks with you and dive in. If you’re a fan of **True Crime Kent** and its blend of dark humor and storytelling, you’ll feel right at home with 911 Calls. I usually find banter a waste of time, but both shows changed that for me—their chatter adds just enough to keep me hooked. Bottom line: give 911 Calls Podcast a listen. You’ll be drawn in, entertained, and ready for the next episode before you know it.

    Bad Kitsch
I was excited for this podcast and love the concept of it BUT the kitsch between ‘the operator’ and his ‘junior’ is TERRIBLE. There is so much of it in between calls where they think they are hilarious but it’s just bad. Like worse than a Dad Joke bad. Sorry, I can’t force myself to listen any longer.

Great show my heart has been changed and I’m a fan of all the hosts past and present!
  • BjdJdejda
    Love it!
I’ve been a fan for years- yes, there have been changes, but my momma always said “change is the only constant in life”. Regardless- The Operator has been a constant. I do enjoy more of the bantering with a co-host, but this works too- gets right to it.

    Answering your big fat ask❣️
Yes, I am one of those through thick and thin listeners, with big opinions I have kept to myself through all of your morphing and growth. As a good momperator would. I am likely outside of your normal demographic and have felt your gut punches with you. I am empathic like that. So many thoughts I’ve sent to you, and it seems like you got them, because I have my original, hilariously voice mashing Op back. Run with your talent friend! Love and hugs.🥰 Omg I forgot to hit send way back weeks ago!🤷‍♀️😬

    ❣️
I I didn’t know what to expect with the new reconfiguration of hosts and the different shows and I can’t even tell you how much I am enjoying the op in Sam 2.0! I support and love all of your ideas and concepts. I do miss Jess.

    Great show
I have been listening to the show for years. I do prefer the combo of Op and Kent, but the show is great. I liked Jess on the show too.
  • LVCrabb
    A good mix
Love that I can get a my true crime fix with light hearted comedy to break it up. Love the Op and his kooky personality!

    Keep them coming please
Much goes into this podcast especially heart and soul.

    It’s a shame
After listening for a while, I really enjoyed the dynamic of two people, Jess and ops relationship. Not it’s behind a paywall. I’ve never written a review for a podcast before. But after the change the entire format just isn’t what I’m looking for in a podcast. I will no longer be a listener of this podcast, I will continue to listen to stranger than fiction. Sorry op bad move doing solo

    Okay tinker bell :)
I first was introduced through Jack Luna. I really loved his way of telling true crime compassionately but also darkly. So many tru crime podcasts feel phony (ie when co hosts gasp and sound dim when hearing the details to the crime) I was pretty disappointed when dark topic had stopped a couple of years ago. When 911 calls began it took some time to switch gears. Expectations, can cause lots of problems:) what I have found though is I do like the banter. First with Jack and then with Kent. I primarily listen to true crime and NPR news and business (go figure). Most of the other true crime shows I listen to is for falling asleep, except a precious few. Falling in this category is 911 podcast. I actually want to hear what you have to say. I like the irreverent conversations. It reminds me of hanging out with friends from the past. Not the same politics all the time I.e. guns but you do you. OP you truly talk about the crime and you process the details not just tell a story for the sake of telling a story. Be it a different point of view, that is what I have found with Jack Luna. Please keep up the good work!! Kick butt with all of the hosts- Jack, Kent, Jess - you all rock!!
  • Usahd32
    Like the new format
I started listening from old to new a few months ago. Bounced ahead and listened to the cop on cop episode. Honestly I was getting ready to cut this show because it was a little long winded with the banter. I enjoy some banter but I don’t always got an hour I want to dedicate to it. I enjoyed the new format and will keep my sub to this show. Would have given that fifth star had there been a coin fact thrown in. lol

Came here for Jack….stayed for Opp
Started following The Opp way back with crime machine. Will listen to anything with Jack Luna, but now, also, listen to anything the Opp does. I have found and feel like he is 100% true to his self no pandering to one side or another, I appreciate that. I do miss a second host but if I learned anything from this podcast is that will change and I will continue to listen. Keep it doing you!!

    I love the operator
I am a real life 911 operator. I love every part of the show. I love the rambling. I love the break downs the most. As a 911 operator we never know the whole story. We only hear the start of the story. We experience the teaser trailer but never get to see the movie. So thank you. Ps one of my calls made the happy ending.

    What ….
I wanted to like this podcast but I listened to cop on cop episode and the “if this was a woman” references weren’t necessary. Do better
  • Lyndsy Lanie Carter1234
    Love this show
I’ve been listening for 4 years and enjoyed it all along the way. I miss Jess and am too broke for Patreon right now haha but once I’m out of school, it’s so good it’s worth paying for.
  • Heartless2012
    I miss the banter
I like this podcast because while it covers serious real world topics, you don’t take yourselves too seriously. There are so many true crime podcasts out there, yours is just a little more lighthearted, and I find that refreshing. I do miss the back and forth though. Times are tough and I don’t have the disposable income to afford the uncut.

    One of THE BEST
I am a day one listener. Been here for all the changes. I’m not going anywhere. I listen because I love the content but more so I love the personalities of all the hosts! I love the banter, love the candidness, humor, ALL of it! Thank you for hanging in there for us. I’m here to do the same for you!

My answer for the big ask
Op, I’m mesmerized by your voice, your humor, your non sequiturs, your perspective, your puritanical moral compass, the love you have for your family/friends/colleagues, and most especially your coin facts I’m here for it all Op! Sometimes I replay episodes of 911 and TCK because I’ll always notice little nuggets or Easter Eggs I missed the first, second or third time around! -your loyal fan from Cincinnati

    OG listener here!
Love the show. I was hooked after the first few episodes and have listened to every show on the feed since. I miss the Op accents, I did enjoy that. I thought all the hosts were good, but also think it’s fine with just Op. I mean, he does make the show a success! Keep up the good work!
  • GreenBananaYum
    It’s the Operator!
I love the change! The Operator keeps me coming back. I love Sam too, but the Op is my favorite for entertainment purposes. Sorry Sam.
  • Brandiland86
    Funny with heart ❤️
I love this show so much, absolutely one of my favorite podcasts. The operator is of course my favorite part with the funny and kind way he approaches the topics. The guest hosts are fun and the content is great. Keep up the amazing show. Brightens my day for sure.

    Keep coming back
With every episode I’m guaranteed a good laugh, an enthralling story and some words of wisdom from The Op. Only reason I would discontinue listening would be if 911 Calls Podcast quit putting out content…..for obvious reasons! Much love, M from Idaho

    I’m here for you
At some point, I’ve realized, that everyone at 11:59 have become like an extended family to me. You are people I have come to care about and enjoy hearing from in a way and, like family, there’s always some chaos. I don’t mind the chaos, especially, when the benefits are great stories and laughter.

Keep up the great work Sam! You’re the best!❤️

    The Operator is why
I’ve always enjoyed the Operator/Sam. The content is always enjoyable, but I feel as though Sam’s humor and yet transparency is always something I look forward to weekly. Having Jack as the co-host in the beginning, followed by Kent was just great, and the most recent change to Jess was fine as well—but the reason I keep coming back, is that the Operator is the center of gravity for this great podcast. Keep up the great work. Hugs.
  • ~Moma~
    Love this podcast
Update since the ‘changes’: I have loved this show since forever and will continue listening as long as Op doesn’t leave. Well, I’d give it a shot, but Op, you are the reason I keep listening. These two… freakin’ hilarious! I find myself literally laughing out loud every single episode. Love them! HUGS!
  • fix right now or I'll ban you
    Co-hosts
Bring Kent back! Miss that banter. Jess, absolutely so offense. Enjoyed the banter with both Jack and Kent.

I love all the podcasters, and shows. Would prefer to have Jess back on the full 911, but hearing the operators accent is a plus. Keep it going.

One of my favorite podcasts to listen to! You make my work days fly by at the construction site. Your are one unique son of a b opp! Thanks for the show and others you share.

    Loyal Customer
You finally got me, Op. I’m not one to leave reviews but your cry for help reached my earballs and my heart. I guess there’s a lot of hate out there about all of the transitions this podcast has gone through, and I’ve been a little speculative and uncomfortable with each change as well. But I ride it out, and I adjust. The only constant in life is change. All life forms adapt and evolve to survive, so why shouldn’t podcasts? Every chapter has been as fun as the last. Op’s sense of humor gets to me. It’s a stupid bit, but I love it. The banter, the tangents, the useless coin facts, fun facts to know and share… it’s all part of it for me. Every eye roll I make also makes me giggle. Don’t get me wrong, I like the cold hard facts, too. I listen to a lot of true crime and really enjoy the way these stories are told. I like the audio and I think the writing is decent enough, even when it’s AI. What keeps me coming back is Op’s ridiculousness, and the audio. And I love the rest of the crew too. Jack was and is still great, even though he didn’t stick around. That’s fine! Paths diverge. Kent is a low-key redneck genius. Jess is the sound female presence these lunatics need to wrangle them all together. Chase gives a really creative voice to his stories. The whole 1159 team feel like friends to me. Just do your thing and be yourselves, guys. Whatever feels right for you is going to feel right for us.

    Long time fan
I have been listening to this show since the very beginning and although there have been many changes, there are two consistencies that keep me around .. The operator and the 911 calls. as far as I’m concerned, that’s all I need! Do not listen to any of the negativity Operator.. you always do an amazing job and it’s obvious that you put SO much work into each & every episode. thank you for all that you do! Your forever fan Robin
  • Someone in N.C.
    Funny, in a funny way
Have listened steadily for years. The Op’s combination of irreverence and goofiness might be a bit of an acquired taste. But all vices take practice! I heartily recommend.

    912 calls
I don’t care for the banter. I want to hear the 911 calls. Get to the point of the podcast. Play the calls.

    Op is the greatest!
I keep coming back to this podcast because it’s not just entertaining and interesting, but the Operator is a great host and makes his audience laugh. This podcast always puts me in a great mood, always excited when I see a new episode is out!
