    Helps me sleep!
This podcast is so boring it is great for bedtime. I usually fall asleep in about 3 minutes. I wake up refreshed & have no memory of the boring content. Love it

Entertaining, enlightening and all around great
I love everything about this podcast! Each story is so random and different (in the best way possible), but somehow circles it’s way back to the big and little anxieties people face in life.

Brings poetic voice to the new age of podcasting
This is a show that really embodies the unique, multi-sensory method of storytelling in the unfolding golden age of radio. I started listening because the title, “Anxious Machine,” caught my eye, and kept on listening for diverse topics and Rob’s soothing, intelligent voice and crisp editing that brings clarity and perspective to my day. I’d recommend this podcast to anyone who is looking for a moment of meditative inspiration in their busy lives.

    In my head.
This last episode: Electric Torture Devices. It was as if... he heard my thoughts, my mumblings at 1, 2, 3 in the morning. Ideas on some nights, frantic, genius ideas! And then... other nights... “what was I thinking??” Id JUST invested in building a tiny recording studio (errr room, closet.) in the back of my family’s house. During what I think was a manic phase I invested in recording equipment, mics, etc. I wanted SO MUCH to just tell stories. Then that voice in my head said: for what? Who’ll care? You.dont.matter. Then I heard this episode. Then I heard my own voice through his. I still want to tell stories. And listening to anxious machine... I know I can do it. Regardless of who listens or doesn’t listen. This was supposed to be a review but... I turned it into a self indulgent little conversation in my head. Thank you. Thank YOU for making this. For recording it. And for putting it out there so knuckleheads like me can hear it and know: we’re ok... even when we’re not. 5 stars isn’t enough.

    Intriguing and addicting
This podcast is fantastic. It makes you think about yourself and the world around you. Helps you appreciate all of the things and all of the people around you. Each episode leaves me with a great sense of satisfaction and a little bit more hope for the sometimes dark world we live in. I love it. Please make more episodes!

Like a great box of chocolate
The intersection of inventions and life gives Myers a broad spectrum of story ideas to choose from. Tuning in is like opening a box of chocolates where you like every one.

    Something I’ve been waiting for
The subject matter of this show is of great interest to me, and the production of it is phenomenal. I deeply appreciate how well the interviews are conducted and edited. McGinley-Meyers is an excellent narrator, who does a fantastic job navigating through empathy and intellectually stimulating thought. Please keep making more! I need it to get through the lab side of my research work.

    Sleek and Real
Probably the best produced show put out by an individual you are likely to hear. Interesting angles on important topics.

    Entertainment that makes you smarter
Unifying question is, what is technology doing for us? to us? Rob makes this, oftentimes disturbing topic, very entertaining—I promise. Rob, I suggest thanking your editor Nancy McGinley (assuming that is her last name) rather than your wife Nancy.

    A good listen
I don’t listen to lots of podcasts, but I really enjoy this one. Started listening when he interviewed a friend of mine, and have since listened to all of the episodes. Very thoughtful and interesting stories. I enjoy the variety. Keep up the great work!

    The Most Human Show
Rob McGinley Myers goes places that most other radio producers would shy away from. Anxious Machine gets at the fundamental struggles of being human, and I’m incredibly grateful for that. Keep it up, Rob 👍👍

    Best new find
So excited to have found this one. I've listed to many philosophy-heavy podcasts and all seem to get the pacing wrong and the mix of storytelling and debate. The success here is no small feat.

    Smart, moving, awesome
Super thinky but also has a big heart. Host has a voice like a kind friend I could listen to all day, and he asks just the right questions.

    Humanity & Technology
I love this show! The stories Rob shares are vital and heartfelt and I always come away feeling like I've learned something really important about how we live and work in the world together. The production value is airtight, and the host is engaging without and narrates in a subtle and seamless way.

    Great show
Just finished season 1 and I love it. It's one of only two or three podcasts where I am a completionist.

    Thoughtful and well paced
I listen to a lot of podcasts, most of which are produced either by networks or by individuals with considerable expertise. Yet, Anxious Machine is my favorite of all of them. Rob McGinley Myers voice is just delicious, and the editing of the show is thoughtful and well paced. And, of course, the stories are always great. Give this one a listen — you'll get hooked.

Great show with high production value
This is such an interesting. The host asks interesting questions and edits things together in a compelling way. Latest episode "I was deprived" was edited in a particularly engaging way

    Great podcast
Rob McGinley Myers’s background in public radio really shows in this tightly packaged and always interesting podcast. Each episode is usually entertaining and always thought provoking especially in this day and age when technology permeates so many aspects of our lives. Definitely worth a listen.

    My favorite
This is quick becoming one of my favorite podcasts and parents should hear it. The questions about technology are real, and we all deal with them every day. I love the kindness that permeates in every word.

    Compelling and moving interviews
I’ve be a regular reader of Rob’s blog since his excellent “Placebo-philes” post at the end of 2013, so when he announce that he was starting a podcast I decided to subscribe. The first couple interviews were with his brother and mother. These were interesting subjects—the familial relationships made the podcast feel very personal—but I didn’t fall in love with the podcast until episode 6, the interview with Stephen Hackett. This interview was so compelling and moving. I kept thinking about what I would do, how I would feel, in Stephen’s position. It really connected. It’s also good to see Rob loosen the conceit that the interviews are “about how technology affects us”. Technology, as Rob defines it, is such a broad topic, it encompasses almost everything. I don’t mind this being an underlying thread, tying the episodes together, but it felt a bit forced in the first few interviews.

The Only Podcast I Listen To
I’m not a fan of podcasts. I avoid them like the plague and seek out the text whenever possible. But I listen to this one. It’s engaging, it’s short and straightforward. Rob finds interesting and unique topics to discuss with individual people, giving their story time to shine without overproducing anything. Listening to how people feel about and use (or don’t use) technology provides interesting perspectives that I haven’t found anywhere else. Worth every minute.

This is a great geeky interview show…
… but this one is not just for geeks! This one is also about everyday life. It’s about technology and life intertwining. It’s very personal. It’s about professional lives, first tech encounters, and the future of technology on the everyday people’s level.
