    Listen to the back catalogue
This was a gem of a show - I looked forward to new episodes weekly. Highly recommend listening to the back catalogue of episodes. If you can find their final episodes online (The End of Vice), it’s more than worth the listen. It’s a tell all from the reporter perspective with many of the team sharing insights regarding why Vice failed. Very best of luck to the host and all the cohosts.

Pour one out. I will miss you!
This was a great podcast, it is worth going through the back catalogue. LOOK UP the final episode, February 23, The End of Vice. One of the greatest listens I have had in a while. Heart breaking, entertaining - quite a tale from the inside of a media platform.

    Decent
This used to be one of my favorite “nerdy” / tech podcasts but the current host sounds like he’s completely checked out. Extremely low energy and lack of interest. The more recent guests will ramble forever with no interjection from the host until I just tune out. Production quality has gone down as well since the new host.

    Great Potential, BUT
Great topics BUT most guests sound obnoxious and amateurish with an unrelenting amount of ‘ums’ and ‘likes.’ There’s something to be said about professionalism, preparation, and thoughtful communication. Try harder and this show is an easy five stars.

    I Love You- But…
Ahhhh gahd! The intro music interrupted some good stuff that I could not hear!! Happy Thanksgiving! Excellent work on holiday hours and short notice. But, dang. Open AI Board Chaos episode

    Decent show, annoying intro
Occasionally the topics are interesting and they do a good show.

    Operation Underground Railroad episode
I really appreciated the balanced approach to this investigation and reporting. I am a conservative and a Christian who saw and liked “Sound of Freedom”, but always found Tim Ballard’s relentless self-promotion to be a massive red flag. Your reporting has helped me understand what my gut was telling me. The mission to rescue sex traffic victims is a worthy and honourable mission. It’s a shame Tim Ballard has so many personal flaws.

    Wanted to enjoy it but…
The lack of effort to do even some basic editing or post production work just takes the enjoyment right out of it. Mistakes galore ranging from repeating script lines, technical issues, and background noise from phone/discord alerts occasionally pinging off. Marry that with some occasionally awful audio quality, potentially from the lack of post production, and you get a podcast that generally covers interesting topics but not with the “natural” feel of a casual discussion with friends as the host may want it to feel. Instead, it feels as though the host does not care about their listeners at all, and will leave in every distraction to remind you of the fact. I’m going to give it a few more episodes before I bail, and if things change I’ll update the review, but for now I’d check out some other similar podcasts unless there is a topic here that you just need to explore.

    Poorly produced
I really want to love this podcast and am very interested in their topics of choice. But the production quality is remarkably low, to the point that it is hard to listen to. The audio is almost imperceptibly cleaned up before publication and both the hosts and interviewers always seem distracted while speaking and unprofessionally unprepared to discuss details on which they are an “expert.” maybe a result of being streamed on twitch?. but then again they don’t necessarily need to be published so “raw” anyway, it’s not like it’s a daily podcast.. It’s a bummer because I do really want this show to be great

    Good show
Vice is good with all things cyber.
  • FreezingMoon69
    Harsh drop in Production Quality
Not how it used to be. Most guests calling in over zoom, equates to a pretty harsh and grating sound quality for interviews.

    Miss the old CYBER
As someone else has noted, moving to twitch has tanked the quality of the podcast, if only on the technical side. How hard is it to keep your cat away from your keyboard and mute your computer’s notifications… also missing the old host, Ben Makuch. Not sure why he was replaced so suddenly. On top of that, the show has slowly but surely moved away from purely cyber security and tech topics to a lot of politically minded content. While I often agree with their views, I don’t come to this podcast to hear about politics. There are far better ones out there. Hate to say it but I will unsubscribe.

    GREAT cast
This podcast is highly informative and entertaining. It’s unbiased news is a breath of FRESH AIR. It’s reports are well researched, as opposed to the doom casting and political rhetoric that unfortunately pollutes mainstream junk. THIS is what is relevant today. It’s not the 80’s anymore. Great job gentlemen.

More whiny leftwing quacks on this podcast than you can shake a stick at.

    Stick to Cyber
I would rather get less podcast episodes if they are more cyber related and in-depth. Even some of the cyber episodes just scratch the surface. Sometimes feels like they are filling episode gaps with random topics not related to the technology space at all.
  • NomoSomo
    See ya
I enjoyed this podcast until it got political. Btw, you DONT speak for everyone
  • Armenia223
    Heavy political bias
Is this show about tech or is it a propaganda tool?
  • OneRogue
    Little to no CYBER content
Despite the name 1/3 of the episodes have nothing to do with cyber issues and topics. Just another outlet for the woke VICE crew to peddle their half baked reporting.

    The Portlandia Feminist Bookstore podcast
I started listening because it looked like it might be a technology podcast, but these guys have no idea how funny they are. It’s a caricature of a caricature. So unintentionally funny that it’s on the top of my podcast list. The landlord one was great. Also the period tracker police. Love it!

Podcast Production Quality Fallen off a cliff
Since streaming on Twitch the production quality is almost non-existent. It really takes away from the show and has driven me to rate it a 3 from what use to be a 5. Hearing about the host blame his cat for messing things up and all the notifications chimes/alerts/etc is so unprofessional and unpolished. Time for Cyber to replace the host or hire an audio production person and improve the overall podcasting listening experience.

    I want to like it
I listen to many podcast on computing. The main host of this show I generally like. However after listening to todays episode and the guest was going on and on about Elon musk and twitter. You could tell it was killing him that Elon bought twitter and that he had bias against capitalism . Also he was clearly a democrat. (Which I really don't care about your politics) I am here for the non biased information. It brought down the level of journalistic integrity to me to have someone ramble on like this. I was on my way to work and just had to turn it off. Maybe I will give it another try at a later date .
  • Snow Ocelot
I want to love this show
The notification noises are extremely distracting along with the many hiccups coming from being a twitch show
  • dont.look
Good production, and some content, however…
I enjoy lots of the content however the hosts for the palantir episode seem biased in the view on the US government. Like they’re actively being hunted! Lol Please show both sides of the story. The good AND the bad. Let your listeners come to a decision. I haven’t looked but a good podcast would be on how the average person sheds critical information about themselves everyday through apps, rewards, and how it’s shared with various companies. Information on anyone is too easy to find, simply look at fastpeople search.

    Show has really gone downhill
I honestly used to really love this podcast and it was in my top two favorites for a while, but it has significantly gone downhill over the past several months. It used to be really interesting and informative and had great guests, but a lot of the recent guests just sound like ignorant ideologues trying to pass themselves off as experts. I keep going back to the show hoping it gets better again, but I can’t even make it through an episode anymore. I really do hope it can be turned around again at some point, but the months go on and it just keeps getting worse. Really unfortunate.

Production and Editing are Pretty Terrible
    Uninspiring Host
  • Jshook07
    Unsubscribed after years
Quality has gone down dramatically lately. Turning this into a Twitch show and just dumping the audio as a podcast has been a disaster. Audio glitches, unprepared speakers, amateur sounding hosts. Yet you edit the audio to include ads that take up 25% of the run time. If you’re going to edit, can’t you also fix the bad quality? Oh well. Maybe I’ll resubscribe if things get better. Too bad; most of the topics are really interesting.
  • Sinct
    Not well produced
Tried listening to an episode, only to find many mistakes. I would’ve thought a novice had produced this. Time skips, sentences cut off halfway, repeat of commercials and comments from the host that were clearly not supposed to be aired. The topic itself was half decent, but with these and other complaints people have made it’s hardly worth a listen.
  • RWS2250
    Poorly researched
I am stunned by the number of basic errors in the Amazon DSP podcast. Not to mention your completely incorrect comparison between Fedex and Amazon
  • I'm disgusted Amazon!
    Notice of termination
I know this is short notice but my family no longer requires Amazon services. No need for signing a non-disclosure agreement. I’m telling everyone about this podcast.

    Uggh
Vice is over has been for awhile. Could’ve been a great shoe but of course it had to go woke & hopefully will go broke. Don’t bother.

A weird mix of pop culture & gonzo journalism
When the show is good, it’s pretty good. They are willing to report on and talk about subjects that many larger news outlets really just don’t understand. Some of their contributors are true experts in their field and bring a lot of context and insights. That said, many times it devolves into a TMZ-like tabloid reporting on the topics, that feels like gonzo journalism but without the heart. It’s almost like they want to be more gonzo, but can’t commit to their perspectives. So what you end up getting is personal perspectives of being in chat rooms, twitch streams - someone who is also in the audience with you. I would just love something more.
  • Anati
    Like, please
Decent content but PLEASE ask and train your contributors and interviewees to stop saying the word “like” twice in every sentence. It’s distracting from the content of their messages and seems as though I’m listening to children who haven’t yet found a professional voice.

Used to be good, new host and format is terrible
The original hosts and format of this podcast was great with highly intellegent hosts that gave me a lot of information that was interesting, useful, and funny. The format of a headline news talk with guests followed by a roundtable discussion with whoever can offer a good input. A few months ago a new host took over that seems to just be bumbling around not having any clue about anything in the world. I generally agree with his leftyish political views but the dude is just not able to offer anything interesting or presented well, I just feel like im listening to some 15 year old on twitter host a podcast. Along with that the format now is a twitch stream where after months of doing the same thing the host cannot hit buttons correctly and constantly has audio issues that just make the listening experience awful. The editing of the podcast has also suffered where audio will be cut incorrectly, ads showing up mid sentence, and terrible transitions between segments.
  • pabst.blue.ribbon
    Too much left wing bias
Great topics of conversation, the host is really informed about asking the right question but some of the guests always have to bring up racism or “republicans hating brown people” it really ruins the rest of the episode.
  • sckain
    Really that’s ok a downturn
Q: What do you calll a show about hacking that doesn’t discuss hacking? A: Vice The show used to be fairly solid with the occasional misguided episode. It’s horrible now.
  • Xbound24
    Interesting topics told very boringly
They always have interesting topics on this show but the production value is terrible considering this is funded by a major journalism corporation. Often the interviews are long rambling messes that circle the point or go off-topic or include chatter that could really be edited out. This would be a lot more interesting to listen to if it included external clips of news or more hard data facts or really anything to break up the monotony of the hosts’ droning voices. My mind ends up wandering and I miss long tracts of the conversation and still am not lost…not much of value is said. I want to like this show, but after a long time of listening I think I’m just going to unsubscribe. I never recommend it to people because I always describe it as interesting topics told very boringly. I also take issue with a lot of the interviews - they’re mostly leading questions designed to get the interviewees to agree, which makes for a boring answer that just reiterates the question, instead of an open ended question that would allow the interviewee to expand and explain.

    political
Would be better if it was unbiased and if they left the stupid politics out. No one wants to hear about politics while listening to a cyber security podcast.
  • Kr0ss
    Insufferable
The show has gone from being a good source of tech news to a weekly pouting session with the same themes rehashed each week. Big tech is evil. Paid products are too expensive. Free products aren’t inclusive. Everything is spying on you. Rich people need to fix the above. I’m over it.
  • dmanmotherf
A cigar is sometimes just a cigar
I am a long time listener of the podcast and I love it when they give tech news, but when they just start saying everything is due to racism and sexism, it’s really unlistenable. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, not every piece of tech out there is about race or something for white people to oppress people. The smug attitude when “explaining” this is the most annoying. Idk why that episode was longer also, but the info stops after 20 minutes. After that, it turns into speculation that every person has a racist or sex bias. They also don’t understand how to mute slack which is extremely unprofessional. You can hear slack notifications coming from both ends of the interview throughout the whole show which kept on making me think my channel was going off. The current host feels less professional and less confident than the previous. I hope it’s back to actual information next week or else I’m finished with this podcast, there are other podcast that cover the same topic and won’t try to inject their own political agenda.
  • Tatersandeggs
Movie promotion disguised as a Tech podcast
What does the movie Dune have to do with internet security? NOTHING! Then why are they devoting entire episodes to this movie? Duh, money! This podcast is a thinly disguised advertising fake out!

Still Quality Content, but Reduced Production Quality
Since the switch to just recording live-streams on Twitch, the show has maintained it’s solid content, but is noticeably lower quality to listen to
  • RobSub
    Good podcast for non-techies
This is not an in-depth technology show that gets into the intricate aspects of computer and technology. This is not twit tv with Security Now. It does do a good job at getting to the stories surrounding technology. I read all these people giving reviews about how it’s ensconced in left wing politics. These people will see anything and everything as tainted with politics. They could read a cereal box and see left wing politics.
  • gna_b31
    Learn the latest
They do cover the latest technology news. However, it puts me to sleep in no time. I wish it had a little catchy music or sounds to keep my mind on track. Hosts are a tad boring and a quiet background. If u are able to stay awake it would be a great podcast to keep up with the latest.
  • shawnthor
    Not hearing anything political…
See a lot of reviews talking about politics. Might be all you are thinking about.. not hearing anything political. Good content.

We get it, you have an agenda
Too political, it’s nauseating. So much misinformation. It’s unfortunate
