Students learn the importance of scientific inquiry in the fields of counseling and marriage and family therapy. Emphasis is on research methods (designs, statistical anaylsis, needs assessment, and program evaluation) and locating, interpreting, and evaluating research and program evaluation articles that inform evidence-based practice. Ethical and cultural relevance is also addressed.
