Kibbe on Liberty

252

Kibbe on Liberty is a weekly podcast with libertarian author and economist, Matt Kibbe. Kibbe believes that honest conversations, driven by intellectual curiosity and mutual respect, can ignite a new revolution of free thinking and a willingness to question the official narrative. That means talking, and listening, to a wide variety of people outside the echo chamber of officially sanctioned experts. Kibbe on Liberty's guests include politicians, economists, musicians, comedians, writers, radio personalities, activists, journalists, and even magicians—with topics of conversation ranging from current affairs to obscure philosophy, from craft beer to the Grateful Dead. Cold one in hand, settle in for the next brain-stimulating hour of Kibbe on Liberty. As the president of Free the People, Kibbe has decades of experience in the libertarian political sphere. He is the author of three books, including Don’t Hurt People and Don’t Take Their Stuff, a #2 NY Times Best Seller. Kibbe is a fanatical DeadHead, drinker of great whisky, and collector of obscure books on Austrian economics.

Kibbe on Liberty is Saving the World
When the end of the world comes, it will be brought about by a government or governments. Kibbe is helping people recognize the cost of letting liberty be eroded. We need a million more like him, but I’m glad he’s putting it out there.

If you want a libertarian perspective this is the best
Kibbe is like Reason magazine in that he is for the little guy having freedom from government force and coercion.

    Great conversations with interesting people
Matt covers a range of topics, from economics to politics to human rights. The conversations he has with guests are always interesting and engaging, and the discussions are always thought-provoking.

    Embracing libertarianism
I’ve long considered myself a moderate democrat. One gift from the pandemic has been a new found respect for liberty. I’m really enjoying the podcast, and I have started a reading list from the books mentioned by Kibbe and various guests. Thank you!

    Great podcast
A must for any fan of liberty and beer. Matt Kibbe is one of those who can make a solid interview feel like a good conversation.

    Good podcast, bad sound
My only complaint is that the audio is really quiet.

This show is for libertarians only, it would seem.
I’m a politics junkie who listened to this program to try to broaden my perspective. To give you an idea of my political perspective, I’m very concerned about issues like climate change, digital privacy, corporate greed, and America’s imperial wars. I wanted to like this show, as the host is a genuinely nice guy. Unfortunately, listening to this show often feels like I’m listening in on a conversation that was not meant for me. There is very little detailed discussion of ideas or issues. Instead, unlike what the podcast’s description claims, every single thing is wrapped in broad strokes of political ideology. “Free markets” are good, public policy is coercion. Or, private citizens should respect each other, unless one of them is a government worker (that means they’re trying to control your life, apparently?) This show did help me to better understand what motivates the libertarian point of view: the emotional reaction of “you’re not the boss of me” to any law or rule they don’t like. And that Rep Massie is a raving lunatic who cares more about what he personally eats than the suffering and death climate change is already causing.

    Great, but
Great podcast with a wide spectrum of guests. Currently there is a lot going on with Virginia and their gun rights... I know this isn’t a gun rights podcast but I wish they would get some coverage from Kibbe.

One of my favorite authors has a podcast? Yes, please!
So glad to hear Matt Kibbe doing a podcast! This one is everything I would expect. Great!

Hear about real liberty issues with REAL people
This podcast shows how real people are affected by real issues. For example, with all of the talk about Venezuela in the conservative and left media, very few spend 30 minutes and discuss what life is like from people who have lived there. I grew up in a time where freedom of speech was publicly understood and mostly respected. Thanks for carrying the torch by taking about liberty!

    Fantastic podcast
Fantastic podcast. Truly a joy to listen to. In my opinion, second only to Richard Epstein‘s “The Libertarian“.
  • The real Quest
Great guests & a host who contributes just enough!
Matt Kibbe is a legend in liberty circles & should be among any honest Americans who think we’re here for a reason... Oh and the guests? Matt finds the most awesome guests, intervenes rarely, & gives them room to speak truth.

    Episode 25
Love your show and your format. Just listened to EP 25 with Penn and Beck. Such great dialogue with a recipe I subscribe to. Humbleness to admit wrong and being kind to one another. If we stand together on what we agree on then that togetherness will lead us to have civil discussions on what we don’t agree on. Hate solves nothing

Beer is meant to be served cold
Great show and good dialogue. Enlightening to get the take from south of the border. I attended a professional school on risk management shortly after Chavez was elected. Probably a third or maybe more of the class were Venezuelans. Mostly engineers and accountants but a few lawyer-types. Although not a course topic, the management of risk in a political and economic climate that was arising in Venezuela became the de facto theme of the course. Almost to a person, each of the Venezuelans predicted exactly the current state of affairs. When I returned to my office, my email was filled with resumes from my fellow attendees. Great show, Matt! Keep on keeping on.

    Kibbe is fantastic!
I first became familiar with Matt when I saw some videos he produced about the "Deadly -Isms". I love his no-nonsense approach to interviews. My favorite podcast with him so far is Robby Soave, but they are all fabulous. I love to hear his thoughts on individual freedom and how they apply to public policy!

    I like the honesty
I am neither left nor right, just a caring individual. I like to hear the views of this program. There are folks from all sides of the argument.

    Smart, Sharp, Informative
Matt is probably the best figure in the liberty movement for articulating libertarian principles and why they matter.

Matt Kibbe gives thoughtful and informative commentary. I just listened to the 2nd episode with Glenn Beck. They made points regarding the drug problem that I didn’t even think of but it made sense.

    Liberty unleashed!
Don't agree with everything he says (politics and his love of cats, CATS!) but he's well intentioned, honest, and VERY smart! I love his explanation of the libertarian view on key issues! Wonderful podcast very well done. Keep up the good work! The Blaze is going to get together with the Daily Wire soon, right?

So Few and yet So Many...
Here’s an actual Novel approach, if we really actually do not want to experience and live through a Second American Civil War breaking out throughout city after city after city in America how about we Start really Talking Again to one another and thinking maybe just maybe some other human being in the United States make actually know something or have a better idea than ME and show that we are talking to each other by also actually listening to each other and STOP thinking that we actually know this person, and of course were they are coming from without ever having to try to Really understand them and their background and Life Experiences and WHY they believe in The Ideas and have the opinions that they do and Start expanding our minds and Our own Lives instead of trying to Self-Segregate back into our own little communities and thinking that everyone who is not with use and our Tribe or Group 100% and 100% of the time must then, mean automatically that they must be against US and want US to Fail as a people as a Group or must likely as a Tribe. This is Tribal Warfare after all isn’t it every single tribe for themselves it’s US Vs. THEM. Thank you Matt Kibbe and BlazeTV and Blaze Media for showing us the lighted Pathway in this increasingly Darkening Times in which We ALL are living in and through Right Now.

    Refreshing dialogue and Ideas
In a world polarized by political group think Matt Kibbe cuts through the outrage and has meaningful conversations around difficult topics, with a variety of activist and thought leaders with a diversity of ideas and perspectives on how we expand liberty for everyone. A breath of fresh air in a polarized environment.

    Truth
Anyone who likes to have a true conversation and debate, is someone I fully appreciate. Kibbe does this, and thusly more people should subscribe to him.

So Nice to Get a Break from the Partisanship
Matt Kibbe is one of the few voices in the more or less political sphere that manages to talk respectfully and honestly with people who don't share his views. It's great to hear actual conversation about ideas and current affairs without falling into the rage-filled name calling thta has come to characterize so much of our political discourse. Definitely worth listening to with an open mind.

Open up your mind, listen to this podcast
So many of us hate politics because we don’t feel represented by either party—Democrat or Republican—there’s another way! Limited government, personal responsibility, and individual freedom. Learn it, love it. Let Kibbe show you the light.
