    Fading just like GSW
I’ve been listening for a few years, the last year was the worst. At its best an enthusiastic unassuming fan pod, that is full of love to everything dubs, their spirit and to #30, as well good healthy & justified distrust of the coach, that is highly entertaining. At its weakest, a pretense pundit panel that shifts between hyperbole and doom - and is invariably wrong. Overall more positive than negative (3) but not the 4.5 it was in the prev 3 years

    You guys are too young!
Why celebrate playin? You never know when something will be your last! I realize you two are too young to know the difference. I’ve followed the warriors since Derrick Dickey lived in apartment complex 2 doors down from me when I was a teenager and warriors won it all in 75. Enough with all or nothing and the doom and gloom. Positivity is contagious. Momentum starts with belief and hope. These are not the warriors of 14-19 or even 2022. These are the warriors we have now and a little positivity could only help with the lifeless, spoiled crowd at Chase. Maybe if the crowd tried a little ‘warriors chant’ once in a while we could be a few games above 500 at home and safely in as a top 6 seed. I think shows like yours should focus on the portentous butts that are missing from the seats at the starts of the third. It’s cool to call out the team when things are rough, but that’s simply not the case right now. Call out the crowd for not doing their part.

    For the casual fan
Plenty of enthusiasm and a wealth of hot-ish takes. Little or no analysis. Hyperbole alert: If you take a drink each time you hear ‘the best player/duo/team/match up in NBA history’ you will miss the end of the podcast. All in all, a fun pod suitable for casual fans.

    The Best GSW Pod
The LightYears boys are the best, and their pod is the best Warriors pod out there, hands down.

    Good show, but why filler?
Really liking the show, but why is there filler content at the end of the podcasts that have nothing to do with sports?

    Whiny millennial bros
Whiny, bro-ey dudes with opinion over analysis. Perfect for a specific kind of fan

    5 star pod
Even when we lose, I still tune in and most of the times we have the same feelings after the game. Interested in what this offseason holds.
  • JacobTG
    Extreme homer podcast
Love listening to these two whiners complain non stop about the opponent, refs or “basketball gods” as the main reasons for every warriors loss, instead of providing any useful insight. One star for helping to make the warriors playoff exit sweeter in a few more games.

The Best Warriors Podcast Out There
Sam and Andy are Steph Curry’s favorite podcasters. Draymond Green routinely plays Light Years podcast episodes in the locker room as a pre-game ritual. Rocco Thompson demands that Klay plays episodes while out on the boat. Go Dubs.

    Mid
It’s mid at best. Way better warriors pods out there

Please don’t talk about other teams and players
I like this show because of how clearly big Warriors fans they are and how much they really know about the team and there’s some strong insights and opinions that come from being fans but on the other side any time they talk about another team or player it’s unbearable. The audacity for anyone to think someone on Golden St is great, every time they briefly talk about a player outside of GS it’s basically undermining them and saying they’re overrated. The show always feels the need to prop up Curry and reminisce about the the title wins.

    Warriors Fan mind hive
Love the nearly daily warriors pod. Went to Pacific Catch solely on the recommendation of the pod.

    Occasionally buzzed podcasting
Overall way more entertaining and knowledgeable than those who claim to be “locked on warriors” I just need them to have Marcus Thompson as a guest more often. Thanks for the laughs and intelligent perspective.

Sam and Andy don’t have connections
    But I’ll give them a 5* anyway

    Always fun to listen to
Sam and Andy (and their top notch guests) are intelligent, funny, and always have interesting things to discuss. Sometimes the goons can be a little one note and repetitive, but gotta give credit to the Light Years team for giving their listeners a chance to speak.

Gold Standard for Fan Centered Sports Podcasting
This pod is so much fun. A real example of #Newmedia, by fans for fans who are juiced up and radicalized by social media.

    Best Dubs Podcast
Easily my favorite podcast on the warriors (and maybe in general). Sam and Andy are hilarious and knowledgeable on the game. Shoutout to the goons!

    Parrot’s the Athletic
Decent show, but honestly just seems like they read the Athletic articles and then regurgitate them. I’m an Athletic sub and find it quite convenient how often they talk about the exact same stuff and even use the exact same verbiage to describe things. Decent for two fans, but Warriors +- is much more insightful into the nuances of the team, personalities, etc. This show just reads newspaper and other articles and repeats it. Edit - listened to three more episodes and downgrading to 2 stars. Half of these come out conveniently after Warriors Plus Minus and it’s nearly the same stuff, plus Andy is just annoying sometimes. Go to Reddit for purely emotional takes.

    Real Basketball Talk
Always a must listen post game no matter the outcome of the game. Keep up the great work Sam and Andy, big fan!

    Stick to Other Warriors Podcasts
I tried to listen to this podcast but Andy Liu comes off as such an arrogant know it all that it’s hard to listen to. He’s worse than Steven A. Smith. If you want really objective takes on Warriors basketball try Warriors plus minus.
  • bobibouche
    Show’s better without Andy
Andy is cringey, Sam is polished. There are no friends in show business. Don’t let the mouth breather hold you back.

    Bummer
First time listening tonight. It was really getting into it I thought this would be a regular new podcast for me. And then the dirty words. I should’ve checked I would’ve seen it was explicit

    Welcome to the Real NBA
Sam and Andy aren’t for everyone. If you’re used to following an elite organization that makes all the right moves, THEN THIS PODCAST ISN’T FOR YOU. If you’re a normal down-to-earth person that likes to “experiment” with what it means to “live life on the edge”, then give this a try. I promise, you’ll never feel more alive.

    STEPH BETTER
The perfect in between of basketball experts to regular guys and allowing fan commentary and call ins gives it a unique feel. The light years guys are truly that

Love Sam and Andy but get new guest speakers
Love Sam and Andy, but episodes with Aaron are tough to listen to (about once or twice every few months). Andy and Sam have great chemistry, build off each other and have fun. When Aaron comes out, he dominates the conversation, cuts off Sam, and seems to have a glass half empty view of life. I download every episode and am a premium subscriber but pass on any episode featuring Aaron.

    Made me a warriors fam
Andy and Sam’s love for the warriors and steph literally made me a warriors fan. I follow religiously now
  • Ryan Craawwford
Best warriors duo since Curry and Klay
As someone who listens to this podcast and reads tweets about the Warriors but doesn’t participate in the locker rooms or Tweet about the games, Andy and Sam say everything I could want to the say as well as other Warriors fans. They provide honest opinions on the Warriors and around the league. They say what the front office and Steve Kerr don’t have the balls to say. Andy being a Giants fan also helps bump the review up, S/O Farhan Zaidi aka who should be running the warriors too. Also S/O Luke from Australia, definitely the best regular caller on locker rooms. @crawdaddy97 on Twitter

Both Sam and Andy need to get better mics and then the 5th star will come

Love the boys, but wish they’d wear suits to seem more professional. Probably more talented than other podcasts but missing that sense of professionalism I look for.

    cringey bias fans as hosts
If you want your hosts to be objective this isn’t the podcast for you.
  • chuang415
    Y’all are appreciated
For GSW fans in need of daily therapy sessions this is the podcast for you. The fellas here offer a veteran fan perspective of the Dubs that is both honest and hilarious. Additionally what’s cool about this podcast is that it offers a platform for you to voice your own commentary as well as hear from other fans. Andy and Sam are the GOATS when it comes to warriors slander and won’t hold back compared to other overly optimistic Warriors podcasts (cough cough Dubs Talk). Highly recommended if your a fan of WarriorsWorld or GSOM. When it comes to other warriors podcast, just keep it movin and listen to Light Years.

So boring when he is on. Literally will listen to him when i need to sleep. Great guy and smart but not good in podcast.

Started From The Bottom, Now We Here.
I’ve been hearing Sam and Andy’s opinions since middle school through college. I remember them since when they were posting content on GSOM. They are truly die-hard fans, and want the best for the Warriors. Proud to see how far they both have come, from the blog days to the now podcast days. This is what you need to listen to if you’re a Warriors fan. If you need Warriors content, look no further. They got a ear to the streets, put on for all of us, and keep us entertained/connected to the team we love. Always DubNation, Kjestrada_

    WARNING
If you have a hard time listening to intelligent, well thought-out analysis based on reality and focused on the greatest team in the league, this show is a hard pass for you.

    Light Years Better
You can’t really call yourself a Warrior fan if you don’t listen to the Light Years Podcast. Sam and Andy know basketball. Andy came up with #StephBetter and he wasn’t wrong. Sam once asked, “On a scale from one to Bernie Madoff how fraudulent are the Houston Rockets?”. They answer questions like is Fremont in the Bay Area and how handsome is Kelly Oubre Jr. This podcast is fan focused with mailbags and listener participation. It’s a must listen after Warrior games! I also recommend their premium pod. It’s cheaper than therapy. Go Dubs!
  • doubleM_21
    Best Warriors podcast
The best Warriors talk podcast by far. All takes are very accurate and even Steve Kerr recently agreed with them😂. Both Andy and Sam are Hoop Heads who know the game very well. For everyone saying that it’s unserious, it is supposed to be funny. It is a podcast for the fans by the fans. Keep up the good work while chasing those downloads😭.
  • Avatarhands
    Not for me
If you want a pod for complaining, blaming management, and sneering at bench players, this is for you. You can get the same level of basketball analysis and irrational overreaction from Warriors Twitter; if that’s your taste, have at it.
  • GC1200
    Light Years Splashcast
These guys are just so mild very level headed about their warriors very reasonable and never any outrage to speak of. Although I do think Sam needs to calm down a bit about being very adamant about why he thinks Russell Westbrook is so underrated and under appreciated and Andy always just talks him off the ledge thanks goodness for Andy he keeps everything calm in the pod and keeps it flowing
  • Dubs fan in the woods
    Negative plus minus
Often funny but Mostly a negative, hot take circle jerk. Where fans try and get laughs by putting down the franchise and second guessing everything. No one sticks to their takes, lots of flip flopping in the moment based on losses. Seems like a platform that exists to enable warriors Twitter trolls. Sometimes listening to y’all makes me enjoy basketball and the warriors a little less. And I get it, Andy and Sam have clearly found a niche and are quiet successful, no shade for your success. Just your content is often a humorous downer. Please, less angsty entitled fan takes on locker room and more professional guests with with actual insight.
  • Light Years Listener
    Not great
Clear these guys don’t know basketball. If you need a radio personality to talk dubs, then watch this. But there is very little rhyme or reason to their takes outside of trying to get a reaction.
  • champagnepaddy
    Sam and Andy are goated
Sam and Andy, the Steph and Klay of podcasts. My go to warriors pod, keep it up lads.

    Love Lightyears
I have never been a fan of podcasts and found myself struggle to remain engaged with the format. These guys have changed that for me and consistently bring good Warriors discussion and good humor. Love these guys and their consistency.
