Standard orbit still one of my favorite podcasts

On a previous review, I said the hosts needed to get back to talking about the 1960s series. Since then they have done so, so I'm giving another star. It's decent conversation and I am really glad they are going deeper into original episodes that don't get talked about much, like the last episode on Peice of the Action, my favorite comedy episode of the original.

Love this podcast! The insightful discussion by each of the hosts has really made me see the series and each of the episodes in entirely new ways. It’s almost like watching them for the first time! Thanks to Ken, Hayley and Zach for the tremendous time and efforts they put into this show. I can’t wait for the next episode to drop!

The most wonderful part of the Star Trek experience is belonging to a community of intellectuals. Which leaves one to (logically) question, what is Hayley doing here? It’s not only that she lacks insight or cogent thoughts, it is also that she seems to not do her homework. She talks about the topic without the extra knowledge (forgets the scene, hasn’t read the novel, etc...). Her thoughts meander and are punctuated only by inane cackling. Uhh like yeah ya know, hard to listen to.

This has been a great show for a long time and the dynamic is what makes it. The addition of Haley has put it over the top. Keep it up guys!

The addition of Hayley Stoddart to the show has given the show a feminine edge to this discussion about TOS. She deserves all of the credit. All three hosts bring an interesting and exciting way to talk about the series that started it all.

I was actually added to The Babel Conference before listening to any of the podcasts. I started listening to The Edge as it was the one about the current show. After I had caught up on that, I went back to the beginning and listened to all the non-commentary episodes. This is an excellent TOS podcast. It has inspired me for a few things I'm developing for a site that I contribute to. The main one is The Essentials episodes. Thank you all for helping to fan my fandom. LLAP

In a recent episode, one of the hosts said that the aim of this podcast was to be informative and entertaining. Well, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! This show is quickly becoming my favorite on the Trek.fm network, largely because of the rapport between the hosts and for the tone that they set. All opinions are welcome here, without fear of ridicule, Thank you, Ken and Zach, for all of your hard work to make this such a great show. It is much appreciated.

While my first contact with Star Trek was TNG during its original run and on through Voyager, TOS deserves its honored place among the Star Trek series. This well hosted podcast intelligently and entertainingly discusses the series, the times, the lore, the characters, and various other related topics. Especially enjyable are the lively discussions amongst the hosts (both the original and subsequent hosts) Keep up the good work Trek.fm and the Standard Orbit team!

I listent every week and this is by far one of the best podcasts on this network.

Standard Orbit is another quality show from Trek.fm! The host's enthusiasim and knowledge for TOS and its accompanying films creates an entertaining, rich listening experience.

Zach & Ken make TOS fun again with their great insights and clever conversation. As a TNG fan, I'm not as familiar with TOS but can follow their episodes with ease. Each week I look forward to listening. Check them out, you won't be disappointed!

They do a great job of going back and forth with JJ Trek and TOS. Covers Kirk and the Crew. Great pod cast.

This show had a host change and the new show is even better. They have great discussions on the original series. I hope they continue to have the great interviews and guests that the previous hosts have had

Love this Podcast. I have no special love for JJ trek, but if it brought hosts like these into the TOS world it can't be all bad either. Love being exposed to TOS through their point of view, Drew has something good to say about almost everything Trek and Mike is very helpful and friendly talking about the technical aspects of TV and Movie making.

I love listening to Mike and Drew tackle The Original Series, both the good and the bad with such verve and passion. Looking forward to more!

I discovered trek.fm podcasts about six months ago and have been listening religiously ever since. The various shows have quickly become my drive-time entertainment of choice. I grew up watching classic Trek in syndication and know almost every episode inside and out, but Standard Orbit still keeps things fresh with lively discussion of the episodes.

I've been listening to some of TrekFM's podcasts since early last year. I listen to them while I'm driving on my way to and from school. I find myself so engrossed in the conversation, and I wish I was there! The people who work on this podcast are real Trekkies/Trekkers too, making the conversation all that more interesting because of their knowledge of Trek lore.

Classic Trek is my favorite incarnation of Star Trek and this podcast celebrates all the good, the bad and the ugly of the series. Compelling conversation, intelligent discussion and lots of opinions. Even if I disagree, I still find the conversation to be interesting and it does what any good Trek podcast should do -- give you a desire to visit the series again.

No Trek is better than your first Trek. Thanks for a breath of fresh air into TOS. Standard Orbit is full of wonderful topic discussions (some of which I would never have thought about) and episode analysis.

Section 47 approves of this show. It is excellent. But please leave stealing Romulan cloaking devices to us or we will make sure you never existed!

I don't always rewatch TOS as often as the other series, but this show gets me excited to go back and watch. They always provide insights into the series that I have missed and it gets me to watch episodes with a new eye.

Nearly fifty years later, there's still plenty to talk about when it comes to TOS. Drew and Mike truly plumb the depths of this classic slab of science fiction, covering the obvious to the obscure, and even going beyond the series into related media like tie-in products and the 2009 reboot. There's a lot to be said about Kirk, Spock, and crew, so I'd wager 400 quatloos that these guys will enlighten you.

Trek.fm beams up another winner in the form of Standard Orbit! Hosts Drew and Mike take a cue from their counterparts on the other Trek.fm series shows by blending humor, nostalgia, and insightful analysis and discussion on the show that started it all. Great guests always stop by to round out the show which is usually released on Mondays and serves as a great way to start the new week!

This is the podcast for any Star Trek Fan and fans who love TOS. The production is fantastic and the guys know there stuff. Download, subscribe and listen!

All the Trek.fm shows are well produced and fun listening if you are into Trek. As with their other series-based shows, each program focuses on a broad topic (e.g., a character, a season arc, a theme), rather than being an episode review. The hosts have a good sense of humor, directly and indirectly addressing topics that contrast TOS with the more modern shows, such as the obvious production issues and…of course… the greatness that is William Shatner.

This is a very exceptional podcast. Firstly, I love that it's a topical review rather than an episode review show. This sets it apart from other TOS podcasts (which are great too), and allows it to go in depth on fascinating subjects. The hosts are very professional and work well together. Having grown up with TOS, I love the chance to re-connect with my favourite episodes and characters in a new and fresh way. Keep up the excellent work, guys! Live long and prosper!

A dedicated TOS podcast is just so essential, and the hosts do a wonderful job in discussing this great show that was cut off only three seasons into its historic run. Always engaging and thought-provoking, much like The Original Series itself. Great work, guys. Keep it up.
