Joe - long time Athletic subscriber, really like the views you, Tim and Matthew provide. The Athletic is a refreshing offset to local outlets and team owned media. But in my opinion your postgame podcast (and others sometimes) is too meandering, with not enough actual game analysis.

Fairburn was a great fill-in, but you have such insight and a feel for this team. Your delivery is smooth even with the first time live stream. It’s funny to hear these two wanna be experts opine on the 3rd string right guard and what taron Johnson did once on that one play...meanwhile they have zero clue on how boring they are especially when giving an hour long opinion on COVID or social justice...these two white bread warriors try to tell you about the bills...and COVID... and BLM meanwhile they have no real life experiences to draw from... genetaglia does his “Fartifact” ad incessantly talking about being a bills beat reporter... what a stretch! Meanwhile Fartburn... whose 28 but sounds 58 drones on about things he has no expertise in then says 1 minute about bills fball. Two losers who think they are winners...go bills!!

Content gives a different perspective - with valuable nuggets (eg Hyde potentially returning for end of 2022 season). On the negative side, this pod isn’t updated super frequently in the offseason. Would benefit from a cohost.

Joe B is one of the best. He’s not a fan of the Bills, which I think is a good thing…very fair and balanced and does a good job of predicting bills moves. I do think he needs a regular partner again as he was excellent with Fairborn and, to a lesser extent, Bove. It’s a five star podcast if he can find a cohost.

Not everything has to be sunshine and rainbows, but holy cow. This was so negative that I turned on the news. Wow.

This podcast could be great, but yet again an apathetic Bostonian is in my ears. This time telling us about how poorly the Bills handled a tough situation. If Fairburn is back, I’m gone and I’ll unsubscribe from the Athletic.

I didn’t know how to rate this podcast. It is written for the last when Alaina was a guest. I really, really like this podcast, but when there is a guest such as Alaina Gatzenberg from ESPN, it was painful to listen to. I’m a woman. I think woman should be included more in the industry, but ONLY if they know their stuff. Alaina clearly did not. The giggling, trying to add info, was very hard to listen to. I had to turn off a 1/3 of the way through. Joe, Please , please “vet” your guests. She was really, really, a bad commentator to your show. I’m not sure how ESPN ven hired her. The nervous giggling was for a reason. She was trying hard to cover up and try to talk about was she had no idea about. Listeners save yourself a listen. This will be a waste of time and painful to listen to. From a woman who knows the BILLs team inside and out.

Really enjoy this podcast. But I’m getting really frustrated listening to Matthew Fairburn come on during patriots week and talk about how horrible the bills are, and how great the pats are. That’s twice now that I had to turn the pod off both times. This dude got his start on this podcast, and can’t come onto the pod and be fair and balanced. I hope MF loses some sleep tonight after that performance. Edit: Hope you have a nice off-season Fairburn.

The Bills Beat is the best podcast out there if you want informed, professional opinions and analysis.

Love your show but find it often too negative. It is a matter of half glass full or half glass empty. You often tend to focus on the glass half empty. You do need to point out growth areas but often you do not give kudos when deserved.

Matthew F is great in his interview columns, always insightful and he adds that to his podcasts. Joe B is like the rain man bills fan in all of us, he really gets in there when looking at film. His in season match up takes are aosi very good.

Joe and Matthew are consummate pros and do a fantastic job. Keep up the great work. The only thing I’d criticize about the podcast is sometimes Joe’s mic level peaks out and gets a harsh distortion (especially when he gets excited). Fix that and the podcast is perfect. Thanks for all the great content!

Two of the better writers on the Bills beat. Good insights and some solid “inside baseball” type nuggets from being in the locker room and around the players. I do think that in a misguided effort to stay objective, they go out of their way to be critical or negative.

Matthew and Joe B...enough said. Top notch reporters and analysts.

Unlistenable

These two are experts on the Bills and all aspects of the pro game. Their access to the team and experience on the beat provides incredible insight. Love reading them on The Athletic and getting updates on this pod. They also bring a great element of humor. I never miss an episode!

2 of the very best of the Bills beat reporters. Their podcast does an excellent job of incorporating deep dives into the decison making and game analysis of this team. If you are a Bills fan or just an NFL fan in general, I highly recommend it.

Initially I really liked this Pod. Love Joe B, and his knowledge on all things. After listening thru draft, training camp and now 11 games in the 2020 season I’m not sure I can make thru he whole year. Listening to Matt F, you’d think they’re 3-9 not 9-3. OMG, mono tone voice, no excitement and glad half empty, all the time. Ugh ... the Bills could win the SB and he’d make me want to park my car on railroad tracks. Sorry Joe B.

After this weeks episode I am unsubscribing. Coming out of a bye week during a season that we can win the division and all you talk about is the off-season?! What a joke. Gabriel Davis is not as good as John Brown. Releasing him just allows Diggs to be double teamed.

Did you guys watch the game? Your analysis is usually spot on but you seemed to miss that the weather was terrible for passing, Davis dropped a long Td pass in the end zone and the interception was the fault of Diggs.

Change the title please. Love your stuff normally guys but for goodness sake there is more to the 53 then Fromm. We get the point about him, the horse is dead, you can stop beating it.

This pod is going in the wrong direction. It’s been overtaken by cynicism and recently has had a dour negative tone. They’ve been constantly harping and speculating on negative what ifs. You’d think this was a team coming off a losing record. You guys were more positive when they were losing! I like the honest conversations but the tone has become really tiresome.

I always enjoy the content. These guys really know the Bills!

The content is very good when they talk about actual team-related topics. It’s better than any other Bills podcast I’ve come across. However they spend way too much time talking about the stupid and irrelevant views that fans espouse on social media, which have nothing to do with what actually happens on or off the field with the team. I listen to a show like this to hear analysis from two reporters who are connected to the team and have access to what is actually happening, not to hear them analyze the impulsive and idiotic thoughts that fans broadcast on social media. Also, “come on Darlene” and the “awards” after the games are pretty stupid, but at least I can easily skip that section because it’s at the end.

Missing Joe these past few weeks. Hope he comes back soon!

I never miss Joe and Matt each week on the BB. This episode week was one of the best since the draft. Evaluating who get paid has so many twist and turns. You guy did a great job. It will be extremely interesting to see how thing may work out in the next couple of years.

Great pod covering the bills!

I've been listening to this duo for the whole season (longer really) and normally they are somewhat level headed ... but going off on a 2nd year quarterback with no previous post season experience for almost 30 minutes and not holding the whole Oline responsible that Josh was running for his life and that there were many plays were his receivers did him no help is rediculous ... so much for thinking about an Athletic subscription ... they will need to do much better before I ever think of paying a dime to listen to this cr*p

One of my go-to podcasts for Bills, quite possibly the best. Usually a podcast is available late evening after a gsme or very early the next AM.
