Change Management (MBA)

We live in a world of constant change. This concerns not only individuals but organizations as well. Even successful organizations need to constantly reinvent themselves to stay successful. This course provides a discussion of change in relation to the complexities of organizational life, with an emphasis on applying theory into practice. With a focus on organizational change as opposed to personal change and/or Entrepreneurship this course has a distinctly different fo- cus from the related modules Leadership and Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
The first part of the course considers the nature of change and different change models. The second part focuses on how different perspectives complement each other to better under- stand, analyze and diagnose change processes. The course takes up issues of structure, culture and politics. In the last part of the course the implementation of change is foregrounded. Many change processes fail, so this part is an important learning complement to understanding change.
This course combines self study and on- and offline group learning. This course is designed to improve the ability of the students to learn from experience through self-reflection and from their peers in online tutorials and face to face seminars. Both skills are critical to managerial success.
