Parenting Our Future

186

Parents! We CAN change the world, starting with the way we're parenting our future. Up to this point in history, children have been seen as less than and parented in a way that uses power over a child. Most of us were parented in this way but there is a shift in thinking about the way we raise our kids. Parents don’t feel good about using shame, blame, criticism, punishments, and even rewards, to get their kids to listen. Parents are wanting a different way because they know from their own childhoods this type of parenting hurts and leaves us with scars we take with us through our adulthood. Each one of my episodes is designed to help you navigate the difficult journey of parenting but in a way that is more peaceful and intentional. I’ll show you how to get your kids to listen and cooperate without yelling, punishments and rewards. I’ll show you how to understand your own feelings and those of your kids. My intention is to bring you to a place where you feel connected with your kids and yourself (we often get lost when we become parents!). Tune in weekly for all the inside tips, tools and tricks I teach my private clients to help you build the family you always wanted, and to become the parent you always envisioned you would be. I promise to provide you with fun and entertaining content that will leave you seeing your kids and your reactions in a whole new light! Please make sure to share the episodes that give you goosebumps, and leave you feeling inspired! I am always grateful for every person who subscribes, leaves a review and rates my podcast 5 stars.

Parenting isn’t rocket science, it’s more important than that!
This is one of those podcasts I wish I’d had when my kids were little. It would have saved me a lot of heartache to learn how to relax into it all with more confidence. I love every time Robbin says “remember, it’s not personal… they’re kids!” Keeping that top of mind as I parent my 7 teens!

The ‘how to feel human guide to being a parent!’
I have never felt more connected, understood or just simply normal for not being perfect. We put so much pressure on ourselves and the support and guidance on how to maneuver though this parenting adventure is priceless. Especially during Covid times! 💗

    In CHARGE parenting
This episode made me cry a little because I’m afraid I am not an in charge parent. I’m a single mom of a 13-yr-old boy who is taking his father’s example & disrespecting me. His father & I do not co-parent. We disagree on nearly everything. It’s now 3.5 mos into the pandemic. We are at home with me trying to start a new business at home & not being able to motivate my son to do anything besides watching YouTube & playing online games all day nearly every day. I’m depressed. I’m lonely. I’m nervous about starting a business doing something I’ve never done before (both the business aspect & the fact that it will be a life coaching business). Often, I don’t know how to even handle myself enough to seem like I know what I’m doing, esp around a son who I feel looks down on me bc he won’t do even simple things I ask of him. I’m not sure how to bridge the gap betw where I am now & being an in CHARGE parent.

Lifted so much weight from my shoulders
These podcasts truly have touched my soul and have lifted so much shame, sadness and guilt from my shoulders. Robin McManne is honest about herself and deeply caring and at the same time very knowledgeable, so that she is able to pick us all up on the way to become better, happier and stronger parents. She has seen the lows that I thought I’m the only was experiencing. With her help, I’m finally able to understand, what it means to be a parent, who is in charge and at the same time is kind and loving.

    Saving my sanity
This podcast is a Godsend for me. Every episode feels like a pot of gold and resonates so well. None of us was born with an instruction manual on how to be a parent. Good or bad, we learn from our parents. This podcast is helping me to keep the good I’ve learned, work through the not so good and build my confidence as a parent. Thank you!

    So excited!
I’m a new parent to a 7 month old and I’m an elementary school counselor. I find myself getting frustrated every now and then with some of the extreme behaviors. Afterwards, I get so upset with myself for raising my voice any. I just started the yelling cure and I can’t wait to use it in my job and with my own kids! I had no idea you had a podcast too! So excited to listen and learn more!
  • marthaseeley

Absolute Must for Your Child and Your Family
My husband and I have read The Yelling Cure, Started working into the Alternatives to Punishment course and listen to Robbin’s Pod Cast. All that we have learned is invaluable. In a month of implementing the tools and information we have learned from Robbin we have seen a wonderful improvement in our sons behavior and his cooperation. I have so much more fun with my son now that I understand how to better communicate with him. Seriously, if you are wondering if any of this works, in our families experience it really does! We have had more “control” by letting go of trying to be in control and instead focus on connection. Cannot thank you enough Robbin!
