Very fun, binged it in three days after a friend recommended it.

I do wish finding new podcasts wasn’t so difficult because I just discovered this gem today . I love that the two hosts are professional, funny without being disrespectful to the family and more of what the true crime genre needs.

Compelling information of a person I’ve always wanted to learn more about. It’s an incredible story, and finally shared. Unfortunately, the hosts can be incredibly annoying. Fake/terrible accents combined with moments of mind blowing ignorance - too many cringe inducing moments from the hosts hindered the story telling.

I listen on and off to The Bowery Boys podcast, and I love them. But one day I tried looking up history about queens, New York from them, and they did a short, 5 minute preview about Mob Queens podcast so I thought I’d give it a go, and my oh my!!! I am SO happy I found you two beauts! I LOVE hearing your enthusiasm and interest in history and in architecture and the New York mob! I’m only on episode 4 but I can’t stop listening! Thank you for doing so much research and letting me go along with you on your journey to figure out Anna! ❤️❤️❤️ Samae!

After listening to 3.5 episodes with hoping the next ep would be better than the last, I have nothing good to say about this podcast.

When I first found this podcast I was in search for the perfect podcast to listen to while doing my commute. I was also just entering the world of listening to podcasts. And wow. I was rapidly obsessed with “Mob Queens” and would wait each week for a new episode. To this day “Mob Queens” is my favorite podcast and I keep recommending it to everyone!!! I cannot wait till the next season. Thank you so much for creating such an amazing and wonderful podcast!!!

Also, if it’s possible, I really do want to see more of Anna Genovese. I think there’s two projects going on that’s going to be about old time mobsters and the making of The Godfather. After being pushed aside and forgotten, I would like to see her contributions to this. As for the hosts, not all the banter and jokes land, but they are a lot fun.

I just found Mob Queens, and I’m rapidly chewing through all of the episodes. The hosts are nothing short of excellent and engaging. AND...what a great story!

This podcast somehow found a way to make Mob Wives boring. They spent too much time on insignificant detail, trying to make it seem exciting.

I wanted to hear the story of Anna Genovese. I did not want to hear 2 people who love the sound of their own voices quip back and forth. I gave this 3 stars as opposed to the 1 I want to give it because maybe it gets better, but I was so irritated, esp. by Seligman, about 10 mins into the 1st episode that I had to bail. This is the only review I’ve taken time to write & I’m late for an appointment, that’s how annoyed I am.

Absolutely incredible. Really fascinating to see the confluence of history, popular culture, and queer culture illuminated so vividly by very able hosts. I would rate it higher if I could.

If I could give it 10 stars I would. They really do their best to show you every aspect of the subjects-utilizing some wildly interesting and creative journalistic research and archives. I love their interviews and stories this podcast is so amazingly captivating.

Gets better each episode - binge worthy

Mob Queens shines a light on part of American history that is rarely told, and does so in an energetic, passionate way. It never feels exploitive or disrespectful, and I appreciate the focus on women’s stories which are so often sidelined in the mob genre.

Thoroughly enjoyed this podcast. I love NYC history so this was a bonus. Well done!

This podcast has very likable and relatable hosts, does amazing in depth research, and provides an informative take on female and LGBTQ+ roles during the mob era. I really enjoyed Michael’s journey to find his bio parents. My father was 4 when his bio parents died and he never tried to find out anything about them. When I was a teenager I started suffering from health problems that are possibly hereditary. My amazing pastor, just happened to be traveling to my father’s home state of Texas (from Alabama) and offered to look into his past for him to help me. He discovered a lot through public records but hit a dead end that only my father could get through. He is an incredibly selfish man so it never happened. I am now 28 years old and still suffering from those issues. I’ve put it on the back burner for so long trying to go to school and work retail full time. After hearing Michael’s story I am inspired to look into it now myself. Maybe now that I’m 18 and an actual blood relative I’ll have different results and find the answers I’m looking for. So thank you so much for sharing your story Michael! You are so brave! I aspire to be just like you. :) -Rose F, Alabaster, AL

Where the hell have I been?! Why has no one told me about this show?! I'm so upset I just found this podcast three days ago but I'm SO FREAKING GLAD I DID!! So I binge listened to this podcast within three days and I cannot wait until season two. OMG what more can y'all do with Anna?! Oh I know, I need to hear her voice... But whatever season two brings I'll be waiting with baited breath. Btw, I'd totally work for Anna as her assistant😏 I'll keep all your secrets girl lol.

As a die hard fan of the Serial Podcast I was excited to hear Mob Queens was in a similar format. Mob Queens does not disappoint! I love the reverence Jessica and Michael have for the juicy story that would easily slip into a tabloid gossip zone.

This story is RIPE! I am Obsessed. Riveting and historical - detective work - it has it all. I love the podcast - def want to see photos of the real life family and would love to see it brought to life on the screen.

Really enjoying this podcast! So interesting and a great slice of LGBTQ history.

Only a few episodes in, but I’m hooked. I love the hosts’ style! The banter back & forth as they unfold the story adds an element of personality that is lacking in other podcasts. Add to this the fact that I love any mob-genre related story, and the fact that we’ve never heard much about mob wives, and color me hooked.

True crime is my favorite genre, but it gets too heavy sometimes. This podcast dives into its subject, Anna Genovese, like no other show I’ve heard. The hosts are amazing. The narrative they’ve crafted with the research they’ve done makes for an addictive show. The hosts’ voices are pleasant to listen to and their personalities really shine through. It’s clear the subject gives them joy because I swear I can hear the smiles in their voices. Other details that may be overlooked but contribute to the overall package are: Voice Talent (very brief recreations) is so good, I thought I was listening to actual historical audio. The theme music! So perfect! It’s a shame quality podcasts take so much time to research because I’m really looking forward to “spending time” with these hosts again. They make me happy.

The hosts have obviously done their homework and dug up a lot of great primary resources, but where this podcast goes wrong is their interpretation of these sources. There is SO much speculation by the two hosts as to what Anna maybe have been thinking or feeling at the time and that’s all it is. Pure speculation, without anything from those sources to back it up. The fact that one host is a screenwriter is evident from her flights of fancy throughout the podcast. I feel they really interpreted Anna as how they wanted to see her to make her fit a queer icon persona, but the primary sources didn’t paint her in that way. 5 stars for research efforts, but otherwise this falls flat

Given the context, a very light and fun listen! Which is needed sometimes as I listen to SO MANY true crime podcasts. They’re so cute together as hosts too, hope they do more together in the future!

I love your podcast! Your enthusiasm and your drive to give mob women a voice and putting them on the map! All these mobsters could of never made it so big...without these powerhouse women....and I beside myself about how the drag queen world and the Italian mob world worked so well!

Thought this was going to be some Mob Wives/E! True Hollywood story claptrap, but nope — it’s actually a really interesting, primary source-driven show about two people doing shoeleather research to uncover the truth about a virtually unknown historical figure with close ties to the Mafia. Very smart and lots of fun!
