Empire920Like it for the most partI have liked this show for the most part. I genuinely feel Clay wants to and tries to get along with people he doesn’t agree with. And I don’t agree with him politically. But I like him very much amd enjoy listening to him. Who I DON’T like listening to? His first guest of 2021. If this podcast is supposed to be about hey if along maybe don’t have a completely partisan egomaniac who calls Trump all kinds of names and puts anyone who voted for him on the defense. I tried to listen. I want to hear both sides. But he was offensive and a jerk. I find people think that’s okay nowadays if you’re a liberal. I have been called a racist for voting Trump. A RACIST. I’ have been called a bigot. And many other names. For the sin of voting for policies - not for a person - I believe in. Clay, I really believe you can make a difference. I want to hear your side, even if I don’t agree with it. Because I know you aren’t going to be a jerk. But please try not to have partisan jerks as guests. I don’t care if they’re liberal. But this guy had as big a mouth as Trump (and I would agree Trump had a big mouth and he’s paying a big price for it).

The Natural Log of ZComment on Kumar’s episodeClay, first of all, I want to say how much I enjoy this podcast, I’ve listen to every single episode and I am always excited when the new one posts each week, which I listen to right away. I did have a thought about something you said on the most recent episode: you were talking about the electoral college and similar institutions that are somewhat biased in that they provide benefit to one side more than the other, and you said that getting rid of the electoral college would just basically piss off the conservative side, even though it wouldn’t be giving the more liberal side an advantage, but rather, it would even out the playing field for once. You said that this would not be an effective way to help everyone get along, and while I don’t disagree with that, I guess it made me wonder if trying to get everyone to get along really should be the ultimate goal in all cases, because sometimes making changes in the name of making things better for all people, like allowing women and minorities to vote, or allowing all votes to truly be equally valuable, might not make it easier for everyone to get along, especially the groups who previously had an unfair or undeserved advantage. But isn’t it more important for things like democratic elections to be actually balanced and fair than for everyone to be happy with the way things are? And concerning the electoral college, is there even a scenario in which both sides could be expected to be equally happy and satisfied at the same time?

RentheadcaFun and Informative!I didn't pay too much attention to politics beyond headlines until this year, and this podcast came out at a great time. I love Clay Aiken as a host and find him very entertaining and he keeps conversations going. He also doesn't seem to shut down or out opinions he may disagree with! As hard as it can be to listen to people who I don't agree with, learning about their point of view is helpful and good in many ways, and I actually appreciate that this podcast isn't just about me listening to only people I agree or disagree with,

ldyjocelynSmart podcastThis podcast has a) great guests from all political spectrums; b) a fantastic host in Clay Aiken, who keeps things moving (and sane); and c) thoughtful discussion. This is an appointment podcast for me.

benji19833Entertaining and balancedInteresting and well-spoken guests and hosts. Was not familiar with Clay Aiken's political work before this, but I love his and his guests analyses of the pandemic. Great for quarentine listening!
-
scarlet124Would recommend to a friend!I’ve only listened to a few episodes but so far I like it! I like that Clay is a mediator and brings on people from different sides of the political spectrum.

AlibabzzEasily digestible political podcast with many opinions!!In a time where we need to be extra tuned into our political landscape, this is a great way to hear varying opinions that aren’t fed or constructed by biased sources Very excited to hear more and get such a clear picture of the different mindsets of our country. This podcast is easy to digest since it is so conversational, which is great for anyone turned off by regular news sources or most political podcasts. If you’re looking for an honest conversation with many opinions at the table listen to this podcast!!

SamiamsharpRelevant, Real and EducationalI do not regularly listen to political podcasts, but as election season nears I decided to try listening to more political-centric shows to better inform myself. This podcast is an excellent, easy way to get your feet wet in the sometimes crazy, scary political climate the U.S. is experiencing in 2020. Clay Aiken as a host is enjoyable, he does a good job of staying on topic and keeping his guests accountable. Which I think is very important in keeping a listener engaged and connected to the overall conversation of each episode. The variety of guests and their separate views he has for every episode is refreshing and keeps the momentum new for each episode release. After I finished listening to episode 18, I was able to use topics from show to facilitate meaningful political discussions with my partner. That being said, I am intrigued and will continue to listen and share the ideas that I feel are important with those around me!

Ash.cyrenaSuper informativeThis podcast touches on all the hard hitting topics you need to know about. Subscribe to keep up with great interviews and discussions relevant to everybody.

elise noelleLet’s Listen and LearnI’m not usually one for “getting political” but with the current state of the world, it was time to check my privilege and work on finding ways to learn more about what’s going on in current events. This podcast is a great way to dip my toes into consuming more political content. I was worried about the episodes turning into heated debates, but Clay is a great moderator who works to keep everything civil and make sure everyone’s point of view is heard. I really like learning more about people, so I enjoy hearing discussions between all kinds of people from different backgrounds/lived experiences who make up the panelists. I think the best way that we’re going to get along is if we listen to each other, especially those who are different than us. Looking forward to listening to more episodes as we get closer to the election this fall!
-
Kiara 😃Informational and InsightfulGreat Podcast! Offers political takes on current events from guests both on the right and left. I think it’s important to hear the point of view of both sides, no matter how much you may agree/ disagree with what they’re saying. Clay Aiken does a great job asking important questions and keeping the conversations focused. Definitely worth checking out!
-
ttsquared77Insightful Political Podcast!Clay Aiken leads this amazing podcast about politics in a way that isn’t boring and is very entertaining! I love how he has a diverse panel, full of different ideas. Clay also is perfect at reigning in the conversations and making sure the guests don’t get too heated / stay on point. If you’re looking for a great podcast to keep you up to date on current events, look no further than Politicon!

AlySaintPleasantly surprising!I’ll admit off the bat, I’m not typically one for political media. I tend to get very frustrated by it all and wind up turning it off. However, I can say that this podcast did not cause me that anguish. It’s very clear off the bat that the discussion crosses party lines and I appreciated that greatly. Clay Aiken often will ask questions as well, to ensure understanding of a topic and someone’s view point, which I find to be very helpful and reinforces that this is more educational than anything. Unlike the majority of political media out there, this isn’t a debate- it truly is a civil discussion and figuring out “How the heck are we gonna get along?!” If political media tends to get you frustrated but you’d like to stay informed, I’d say this is a good spot to start.
-
lindsay8086Informative political podcastThis podcast tackles political issues in our society today with help from guests from both the right and the left. I’m pretty firm in my own political leanings, but it’s always important to hear from both sides before forming an educated opinion, and this podcast does a great job of showcasing both sides of an issue. And Clay Aiken is a great host. He keeps his guests on track and asks important questions to steer the conversation. It’s informative and interesting, definitely worth checking out!
-
conlon1Balanced, interested, and pleasing to listen toOffers a balanced view of where members on both side of the political aisle fall on relevant issues and current events, while also providing background on the events themselves to keep listeners up to speed. As a host, Clay Aiken has a very calming voice that’s nice to listen to, and he’s also honest and straight to the point in his delivery while giving guests their chance to take the spotlight and speak on issues that impact them directly. I like how the podcast features a range of guests passionate about what’s happening in the world today and willing to share their own diverse stories. “F(ix) the Police” in particular does a good job at facilitating a powerful conversation among members of the “same side.” From a technical standpoint, it also sounds high quality and very clear.
-
MER NYCHow Are We Going To Survive Is Right! The issues discussed are important, complex, and there’s no easy answer to solve all the problems at hand, but Clay does a great job in trying to find common ground in speaking with his guests and in coming up with solutions. From asking for more detail from those he has on to ensure those listening are educated, to choosing individuals who can speak to both sides of the issues, Clay ensures meaningful discussions occur - all while being funny! Definitely give it a listen if you’re looking for passionate and engaging discussions of politics!

DwightSchruuuuuteVery InformativeI’m an avid listener of NPR and I like to be informed. That being said, this podcast is on par with other news podcasts and covered an array of topics within one episode. It never occurred to me that Trump avoided mentioning racism or police brutality in the Rose Garden speech to shift the focus on looting and distract the media. They mentioned a strong point in episode 15 that we don’t take slavery seriously. It’s nice to hear that Clay Aiken is still doing things. His southern accent is noticeable, I started to get a bit bothered by his pronunciation of “what” (hwhat). All in all I would recommend giving it a listen.
-
SloanePardueInformative and balancedHonestly, I’m pleasantly surprised at Clay Aiken’s host skills! He has a nice southern voice and isn’t afraid to tell his guests to get back on track when they’re off the rails. Its straight up and to the point about what’s actually dividing the country and has guests from both “sides” along for the talk. It’s refreshing to hear both sides without many temper tantrums. Would listen to this over the news or digital videos going forward!
-
bjbruniousEpisode 13Listening to white guys argue about what is and isn’t racist is necessary......and yet so disappointing. 🤦🏻♂️ None of them get it. Arguing about what is in people’s heart is exactly where even white liberals wanna have this discussion. They all have a lot to learn.

Llamallama22456789Would recommend to friends!Came across this podcast as someone looking to learn more about the current political realm and hear varying perspectives and this podcast does a great job of it! Crazy to hear that it is hosted by Clay Aiken because I was familiar with his music but first listened to the Twitter episode and was impressed! Social media plays such a big role in politics and current media today and this episode was super informative and covered a wide range. It analyzes how public figures in today’s government utilize twitter for better or for worse to reach their audience. Looking forward to listening to more episodes and sharing with my friends.

ellym98A short but sweet dive on American politics! How The Heck Are We Gonna Get Along is a great podcast that gives diverse conversations about changes in the U.S. from a political standpoint! Clay Aiken is an amazing moderator and listens to his guests in a thoughtful manner. As someone who isn’t super political, it’s a great podcast to learn about certain views and understand what’s going on in the country :)
-
ashleysb2Excellent podcast!Love the concept! Most shows skew right or left & are heavily biased. Love that guests view are from widely diverse perspectives. Clay Aiken proves to be an extroardinary host/ moderator & adds a richness to the discussions, while guiding his guests towards a civil & open exchange of views. guests are amazing,Look forward to it each week!

kimimhasfFinally the Podcast I’ve Been Waiting For!The same Clay Aiken that was on American Idol?? Well he’s back, and he’s thriving in the podcast world! I was very pleasantly surprised by this podcast. At first glance, I thought that this would be another typical one-sided ego-trip, but I was dead wrong! This one is funny, informative, and delivers in a relatively lighthearted way. I’ve recently been getting more into politics, but wanted to find something to listen to that didn’t seem to have a political agenda behind it. This is one that is finally non-partisan, and features guests from any political corner you can think of. And best of all, it’s not ALL about politics; there are interesting little anecdotes that guests tell that can be relatable in all aspects of life. All bases are covered. Keep up the great work, Clay and crew!
-
morganleemGreat tool!As somebody who recently wanted to get into politics, this podcast is serving me as a really great tool in educating myself on both sides of the political spectrum. I’m glad that this podcast exists so that others are able to learn as well!
-
Bryden DerberReal, honest, diverse point of viewsI enjoy that these conversations. This podcast comes from all political outlooks. I enjoy how Clay Aiken approaches important topics. He’s very soothing and directs the discussions to make impact. With everything going on in our nation this podcast is really informative especially when I’m driving around trying to understand from nonpartisan perspectives.
-
ravvynAmazing podcastThis podcast is good even if you aren’t really political. It’s really informative and doesn’t just give you one view, it’s discussed them all which is nice. It’s nice to listen to all parties talking and explaining their opinions without any arguing. Worth the listen for sure!

outlawthekissA Great Way to LearnListening to this podcast helps me to learn about politics in a more digestible way— these conversations are important!! I recommend this podcast to anyone and everyone who needs a way to get involved and learn from everyone!
-
lexishannona great way to learn about politics in the modern dayAs someone who grew up with a very “quiet” family when it came to politics, I never knew much. I wasn’t that interest in politics until I hit college, and trying to absorb all of the information can be overwhelming. This podcast really helped me learn more about politics in a modern day and age. With everything going on, it’s a great way to educate yourself!
-
Kaitlyn Rose PowerIf You Want to Learn This Podcast is FOR YOUI enjoy how this podcast approaches all political angles with a diverse list of panelists. I think If you don’t know a ton about politics and want to learn this podcast is for you. Honestly, even if you know everything, this is an interesting podcast to listen to. I never thought Clay Aiken would be into politics. I learn something new every time I listen and I am binging this podcast to be prepared to vote in the primary on Tuesday!

aleung95An interesting listenI found the podcast entertaining but also informative at the same time. I like how you get to hear different opinions regarding the topics they’ve discussed. Clay Aiken is a great moderator!
-
Drewraines.comPolitical DiversityGreat podcast! Each episode has a variety of professionals who provide in-depth coverage for each topic. The arguments are civil and informative. Much better than most of the news channels running. Not going to name them lol
-
sarahrc20PoliticonGreat and different podcast! Love that Clay and his guests push each other to dive deeper on the topics because of the differing views!
-
AliciaAnn89I’m impressed!I am so surprised at how much I enjoy this podcast. Politics usually gets me pretty riled up, but Clay Aiken does a fantastic job of letting you hear from all sides, and he keeps everything on track and civil. I highly recommend listening to those who want to stay informed but not only hear a one sided conversation. Also, I love the diverse backgrounds of the guests. Hearing Phil Rosenthal on episode 10 was a great surprise!
-
Walla67Learning is good!I may not be very political but I really have enjoyed listening to Clay's podcast. Informative and interesting. Clay is a wonderful moderator who manages to do a great job keeping things moving. I'm also glad that he has people from opposing sides. We all need to hear both sides of things! Only hearing one side of things does no one any good!
-
snowbunny924Interesting to Hear Different ViewsUnlike popular media, it’s nice to hear two different sides discuss things without it being a giant argument or shutting down the other side completely. It’s an insightful conversation and easy to listen to! I like that they throw a comedian or someone you wouldn’t generally find as someone “political” into the conversation. It brings a personal quality to it.
-
breyedgrl11How ARE we going to get along?I’ve been a fan of Clay Aiken’s since he was on American Idol; I love him as the host of this podcast. He keeps guests on track, lets them fully share their views and embraces different points of view. Really hits the heart of what divides us in America. Very fun and informative podcast, highly recommend!
-
pamricklinIt’s great!!!I was a big American Idol fan back in the day and wasn’t sure what to expect with this podcast. But I was SO pleasantly surprised! Clay asks non-bias questions with his guests to have peaceful, constructive conversations. This is so much more productive than people yelling at each other. The discussions are informative and easy to understand and follow. I definitely recommend listening!
-
SueReuHow the HECK are we goig to get along?Really good dive into what divides us in this Country. Usually intelligent conversation, sometimes it devolves into talking points with no proof or back up. Clay Aiken is good at bringig guests around and back on point. Lets guests talk, but doesn't allow them to get away with not answerig a question. Like the Q&A at the end. Keep up the good work!
-
77photogirl77Love hearing the different points of viewSometimes the guests can get a little heated but it’s not much different than news programs with multiple guests. I love how Clay isn’t afraid to tell people to shut up and stop acting like toddlers throwing tantrums. He keeps things moving along in order to get to the multiple planned topics each episode, which is great. He’s also always been hilarious, so I’m glad to see the snark hasn’t faded. Also love the variety of the guests. Definitely recommend.
-
Hutch 69Liked conceptLike Clay, started out great, now just people screaming their opinions as facts. I’m out sorry Clay
-
AgeofAndersonClay is GreatI was skeptikal going in, but it turns out Clay is a fantastic moderator. He's fair but firm, but it's his undeniable charm that really makes the show.
-
RMNRwRNice formatI love the format of bringing together people from different sides of the issues and making they’re case. The host is decent, but clearly not objective. I’m just ticked off that the deep state discussion was derailed because of the guys temper tantrum. I think that gives a lot of credence to the stereotypes that conservatives have about liberals as being screeching hysterical children. She wasn’t given a chance to explain herself. I hope the future episodes will be better and more balanced.
-
KatharinemattyAwesomeGreat show who knew it would be so good different way of talking politics ! Dint mention the deep state got crazy but Malcolm is so smart and amazing . Love this new pod
-
