k.e.r. san franMore Sam Bee and her rare type of brilliance!It was a sad day when the Full Frontal was no longer going to be on the air, so the delight I felt when I discovered this podcast was sort of a quiet reward and a long time coming. Samantha Bee is so distinctive; her level of attention and insight is really remarkable. It’s rare to see/hear someone so adept at being extremely smart and extremely funny and extremely sensitive, and to do it with such great care. Love the show and love her guests and she’s the best.

Sea Era BiscuitThree stars because I like host and guests.Overall…I’m not really a fan of this podcast. I want her to do well. I love her guests. I live her! But…the sing-songy cutesy tone makes it pretty unlistenable. The questions, theme and format make it less interesting and less relatable. It makes the guest have to fit her dialogue, not theirs. Hope it evolves.

Woo pity WoopFunny but the vocal fry is killing meSamantha has always been a favorite, but the affected vocal fry of her guests is rampant and distracting, along with the “like” filler. Not usually such a speech therapist, but I can’t unhear it and it’s driving me crazy. I’ll stick to awesome scripted her tv shows instead.

mima604YamichI love her. I also love old people. My first job was as a nurses aid in a nursing home. I was in high school, worked on weekends and through 2 summers. Hard, but rewarding work for 16-17 year old me at a disgusting minimum wage of $2.20/hour for 8 hours/day.
