Is this really accurate??

Curiosity pulled me in since I was a valet at The Gold Club for one Summer. Story was great for me, but the storyteller’s vocal fry made incredibly hard to stomach. If I didn’t have a background to The Gold Club I would have turned off due to the vocal frrrrryyyyy.

I loved listening to the rise and fall of such a pop culture icon from the 90’s!

Must listen for Atlanta natives, and anyone interested in mafia true crime. Pacing is great, story is interesting, and well produced. Loved the bit about how Atlanta ended with full nude strip clubs in the first place. It’s very fitting for this city. I listened to all 8 episodes in less than 24 hours, and I rarely consume pods like that. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed it. Not a church goer but loved the end. Really poetic journalism. Kudos.

Episode eight? Who got charged who went to jail how did the trial end. Man what a waste of time this podcast was.The reader of the show was very nasally and talk like she was a Californian from SNL skit. The only thing I liked about this podcast was the theme song it was very catchy.

Sorry her voice makes this impossible to listen to. And it’s not that it’s a woman. This particular voice doesn’t do anything for this subject matter

Got tired of the story by the fourth episode

Interesting but stop the sounds effects...very annoying!!

Love the show and story but background sounds are terrible. The hum is so distracting. My dad listens with me and has hearing aids and the him is all he hears.

The show is great but the music and sound effects are ruining it. This last episode was unbearable and I had to stop listening.

What the hell was that monotone ringing in the background. I legit couldn’t listen. Please stop with the sounds effects. It’s taking away from everything and legitimately making it impossible to listen.

First two episodes were very interesting...you lost me after that...

I’ve listened to plenty of Podcasts over time, but this is one of the few I truly get excited for every week. Definitely not for everybody, but the story is so intricate, but the Narrator does a great job!

I live right outside metro ATL. The gold club was mythical in its hay day! The only Atlanta crime story any more legendary in my lifetime has been BMF! This podcast is extremely well done and great!

Very interesting

Only thing are the sound effects! Abrasive or just down right annoying.

This is going to be stupid to some people and I’ve enjoyed it up until this point but episode 3 (Dirty Money) rubbed me the wrong way..I’m only 9 minutes in but her saying Tony Sopranos commutes from his home in Jersey to New York because the mob primarily runs out of New York was just so wrong..he’s in Jersey..he’s head of the jersey family..where you got that he commuted to New York because that’s where the mob primarily is is beyond me..I get it, it’s only a tv show and irrelevant but if you’re going to use that as a reference then do your homework better

But whoever is doing the score and adding that high pitched whale scream, needs to be fired. Thoroughly annoying

The narrator is great and the story is very interesting

This podcast is great, super interesting story told very well with real interviews strategically placed. Also, learned the best fact I’ve ever learned. That Hair the musical led to full nudity in Georgia strip club 🤯 LOVE

Love the show!

Love the manner in which this story is told. Great interviews. Darkly comedic. But the music is horrible. Annoyingly so. I’ll keep listening while suffering through this distraction.

I was immediately intrigued from episode 1! Can't wait to hear the rest of the story.

Really excellent podcast! The storytelling from the host is extremely good and very entertaining! Also, the production is some of the best of all the podcasts I’ve listened to! Such an interesting story, I can’t wait to hear more!! ☺️💙
