Remarkable info, insights, and human understanding
Brian Ray is an exceptional musician not only because he commands great technical proficiency, but also because he sees the nature of musical collaboration and membership in bands in generous and enthusiastic, human terms. This is one of the most constructive podcasts out there. Brian is an exceptionally skilled interviewer because he is knowledgable, enthusiastic, and genuinely interested. At a time when most so-called interviewers mostly steer their guests towards preconceptions or familiar ideas, Brian opens things up and elicits new, unexpected, and really meaningful comments from his guests. And wow, does he know everything about his profession and the people in it — yet he’s never heavy handed, never lectures, and never, ever toots his own horn. This podcast is pure gold.

    Brian Ray !!!
By far one of the best, insightful , first hand views through the lens of Brian. His interaction with his guests is what every music fan wants to hear. His questions are from someone who has the experience to draw the best from all of his guests. It’s not fluff - it’s real. Love this. Congrats Brian !

Brian knows of what he speaks, and has a natural, appealing, easygoing rapport with his fellow road dogs, as he mines for precious nuggets of wisdom and juicy morsels, from the circus caravan to the sawdust-soaked roar of the big-top tent. Engaging, enlightening, and highly entertaining‼️ I’m Jim Browne, and I approve this message.

    Great perspective, fascinating interviews!
I started following Brian’s career about 10 years ago when I was a teenager and a bit of a Paul McCartney fan girl. I’ve always enjoyed Brian’s solo music, and he always seemed like a genuine guy who truly appreciated music and the experiences he’s had. I was very excited to hear he was doing a podcast, and loved the concept of interviewing other touring band members. It’s really cool hearing the perspectives of people who are behind some of yo ur favorite artists. I especially loved hearing from Davey Johnstone and Chuck Levell. I’m excited to see who’s to come in the future! Brian is a fantastic interviewer. Whether it stems from his own knowledge and experience, enthusiasm for music, or just good chemistry with his guests, it makes this podcast very enjoyable! Definitely recommend!

    Great Perspective
The host, Brian Ray, does a great job teasing out interesting stories from his guests. The Aftershow with Mandi and Brian is equally fantastic - I love hearing Brian’s take as well as his answers to additional questions. Looking forward to more episodes!

Side story of the legendary rock musicians
The best part of this podcast is the musicians themselves reveal how the auditions with legendary rock bands were like. Besides those successes stories, the host Brian Ray, who is already a successful musician himself, asks his guests to share the story about having got NO at an audition or their most embarrassing moment on stage. They are truly behind the scene stories!

    Great Musician Information
Just heard the first podcast and its follow-up. I really enjoyed both. Well done, insightful and entertaining all at the same time. I do hate autocorrect at times. I wrote its it “corrected” it to it’s. Sigh

    Tour de force!
Brian is a great interviewer with a very compelling personality. Nobody can relate more to the life of a touring artist than a fellow touring artist. Great inside, and personal stories and insight that can only come from experience. Great show.
