Excellent primer on uniqueness of Mayo’s program
The podcast clearly shows that Dr. Barlow cares about this year’s applicants going through the virtual match process. He, guest faculty and previous residents, among other topics, review how residents receive deep/meaningful feedback from faculty because of Mayo’s 1-on-1 mentorship model, how the program is a good fit for aspiring orthopedic surgeons of all backgrounds with diverse career goals from private practice to academics, and the immense wealth of hands-on resources available for residents to perfect their skills. Having rotated at the program and seen well-prepped junior residents performing the majority of steps in surgical cases, I can attest to the uniqueness of the Mayo mentorship model. Definitely a program to consider. - C. Black
