Great for learning just about anything!
I have learned so much listening to this podcast. Being a student of Mr Pudewa in SSS courses, I have found that I have learned most about not only writing, but debating, communicating, teaching, and even psychology from IEW. Thank you so much for how you have inspired and helped me over the years without even knowing me.

    My favorite homeschooling podcast!
I love setting aside time for the IEW podcast. It is always so inspirational. I’ve been homeschooling my children since 2000, and I still enjoy all of the educational tips and encouragement found here. It’s not just about IEW’s curriculum products; there is so much about learning, teaching, reading, writing, speaking, and education that is so beneficial to teachers and parents alike.

    Enjoying podcast
When I’m asked what my favorite podcasts are, I definitely included this one. I have learned so much from listening and can’t wait for my children to be old enough to teach them to write using IEW materials. But I love listening because I learn so much more than just about writing. Thank you for this podcast.

    IEW never disappoints.
I have been listening to this podcast for many years. I look forward to it every week and it never disappoints. Their content has influenced me as a person, as a homeschool parent and as a writer. Now my own children are learning how to organize their thoughts and communicate them effectively through their writing programs. I love this podcast and you will love it too.

    Excellent writing advice
I started using IEW after my three kids were doing the online learning in the spring of 2020. Even though they attended school online in 2021 I wanted to work with them on writing so I purchased the Ancient History based writing workbooks and invested in the streaming videos to teach myself. Along with that I listened weekly to this podcast to become a better writing teacher. Over the past year all three of my kids have become much better writers and I could have never taught them without the wisdom provided in this podcast and the source texts provided in the workbooks. I am also having my kids use IEW’s Fix It grammar to compliment the writing workbook. Trust the process and listen to this podcast if you want to understand the thinking behind it.

    Valuable wisdom!!!
Mr. Andrew Pudewa has so much wisdom to offer, not only in academics but also in teaching, even parenting! Julie and Andrew make a great team. She always knows how to bring the best insight out of him! Their secret ingredients are their passion and firm believes toward this method of teaching. Despite the fact that our two kids go to a five-days-a-week charter school, I find that all of Andrew’s wisdom, and the IEW writing and grammar curriculums, very applicable and useful to our family in educating our children, and myself! Thank you, Andrew, for being so generous in sharing many of your valuable conference talks for free on your websites. Listening to both this podcast and your on-line talks greatly helps me to better internalize the insights and to apply them in teaching my family!

    Informative and Entertaining!
Not only does this podcast have support information on the IEW products, this podcast contains valuable information about educating and raising children!
  • susermajoo
    Very enjoyable
My children are young and much of this information is not applicable to me whatsoever, but I think it is so smart and entertaining I listen to them all anyway! Thank you, Julie and Andrew!
  • Progress is possible!
    On your side
IEW is the greatest! Many years ago, I briefly tried to homeschool my learning-disabled son after every other form of schooling didn't work for him. How I wish I would have known about IEW, its positive message and plethora of parental supports back then! The Arts of Language Podcast is just one of the many ways IEW is there for parents, teachers, and students. From the time your toddler is old enough to memorize "Ooey Gooey" until the day they graduate from high school, IEW is on your side. Thanks Julie and Andrew!

Julie and Andrew are the BEST!
I've been sitting here trying to think of a clever title to catch your eye and the only thing I could think of was "Julie and Andrew are the Best" because that is what I think every time I listen to them. I'm an old homeschooling mom - old as in literally not as in I've been homeschooling forever - who beats her head against the wall frequently because she doesn't know why she's doing this. Then I listen to Andrew and I know why. Yes - he's the "writing guy" and his products are head and shoulders above the rest. But he's also a big picture guy. Every podcast truly is a lesson in "The Arts of Language". And I would emphasize Arts. You also will learn more about educating children and how to educate children as individuals than you can possibly imagine. If you're not using their products and are interested in them you will be quickly won over. If you're a user and are just curious about the podcast, you will soon think you're a genius for using his products. I usually will "save" up a couple of episodes and then binge listen - when I'm done I'm usually disappointed because I want more! And thankfully there will be. Julie - you are a delight to listen to. Thank you for making a delightful product to listen to and learn from.

    Love it!!
We've been using IEW's TWSS at home and I really appreaciate hearing more of approach, especially beyond the curriculum - i.e., read broadly and widely, memorize good stuff, then do it again and again
  • Kaybeerube
    Wonderfully informative
Whether or not you use IEW's programs, this is a podcast well worth listening to. Mr. Pudewa is a very eloquent and informative speaker, and there is much to be gained from each and every episode. I love the term the Arts of Language. This program has made me much more conscientious of the arts of language as taught in our home, and our approach to it. I found the podcast first, and then bought the program as I was so impressed with the free podcast content. I was not disappointed. Well worth the time to listen. Five stars.

Professional, yet conversational. Enjoy the discussion although I've graduated from homeschooling my kids. Still learning and this podcast is a welcome resource. Keep it going!

    This English Teacher Loves IEW
My wife and I are starting our third year into Structure and Style, and we cannot say more good things about IEW. I’m an old English teacher that used to think I knew how to teach writing, but IEW makes it easy and Andrew makes it fun. And we’re super excited about a weekly podcast!
