    Drop Tom
Tom needs to stick to writing. The stammering, the lack of focus, the inability to succinctly make a point…he’s just not good at this. Appreciate his perspective as a longtime Husker Journo, but he is terrible at this format. Used to love listening to Evan and Sam and now with Tom I shut it off at the 7 minute mark every time because he is so hard to listen to.
  • Kyle63947
    A lot of Creighton
This is a good listen but be prepared for frequent references to Creighton. They are incapable of talking about Nebraska basketball without talking about the Jays despite it being a Husker pod.

    Volume
I love the show but the volume difference between Sam and Dirk/Tom is making it almost unbearable to listen to. PLEASE fix this as I live this podcast!
  • GoBigRed313
    Regulate the Volume
Can you do something to regulate the volume? Dirk and Tom are at full volume, and Sam sounds like he is giving play by play at Augusta. Constantly have to adjust the volume to hear Sam, and back down when Dirk and Tom talk. Content is good, but this aspect could be better.

    Sam vs Dirk
    1) Drop Tom. 2) Sam vs Dirk cage match. Greatest podcast ever.

    October
Really enjoy the insight, especially Sam’s. Awesome columnist-just wish they’d do a new episode in October! 😂
  • Craig7575

    New POD Subscriber
First listen and subscriber to this pod on 8/3. Excellent content and discussion of Husker sports. I listen to many football podcasts and my initial impression about this pod is great. Been a reader and listener of Sam's work and always enjoy. Now that the LJS crew is a bunch of JV's I gotta go with the pros! Sam will win the Showdown every week too!
  • this show used to be good
Sam’s ok Jimmy is a whiny
Whoever this jimmy is he’s horrible. His constant whining and squawking makes me wish I was deaf.
  • ChokeEyes
    Long time listener
I loyally listen to several Nebraska podcasts ever week and this is one of them. Sam and Evan are great. Love when Tom Shatel joins. I personally think Jimmy needs some “coaching” from other journalists. You don’t have to be a Husker fan to fill his position, and having different perspective is always good. With that being said everything Jimmy says comes across as condescending and critical. Often making it tough to listen to.

    Extra info
Sam gives the reasons why he thinks things, I like that.

    Sound quality
Sam’s audio is too low except the 5-6 times he yells into the microphone and blows the tweeters in your vehicle
  • ejones23
    Abysmal Audio
Do you guys record this in a wind tunnel with the children from poltergeist coming through the TV behind you? Don’t you guys all literally work for a multimedia company? Feel like this shouldn’t be an issue.

    Need to fix Audio
Even pre covid the audio was awful. I understand local media has to pump sunshine but I wish they would be more realistic about Nebraska athletics struggles.
  • Mulder716
Poor audio quality with constant tapping
Even if the Husker content was amazing it will never outweigh the constant tapping makes this podcast unlistenable. I’d recommend any other podcast for Husker content to avoid the frustration. Embarrassing.
  • townmoron
    Ok, maybe 4.5 stars
If Sam McKewon stops tapping the mic for emphasis when he gets excitable, I would change my review to 5.5 stars. Some of the best analysis and discussion available for Husker fans.
  • avghuskerfan
    Grain of salt
Sometimes too smart. Finally after listening for 50 min they mention defense isn’t as bad bc the offense is making them playb15 series and the o-line doesn’t have a senior starting. When has any team let alone Huskers been good with such a young offense. Way too much analysis but smart guys and people listen and they have to put an hour show together. Love that Adrian and RB (Mizzour?) dropped Twitter. Good call. No way does twitter or anyone that have negative comments (me excluded of course) represent the general public.

    Best Husker podcast
The best Husker football podcast by far

Solid information when Sam shuts up
Being outside the state, the podcast helps me keep up with local coverage but for Christ sakes, Sam, shut up once and a while. Ya go on and on and on like your view and knowledge is gospel.

    👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I really like the analysis. Each reporter has a differing opinion typically/experience level with the football content and that makes it easier for me to stick around. Just hoping for another season sponsored by the Schwalbach Agency. Has me considering my arsenal of big boy toys.
  • niwill1
Best podcast on the market for Huskers fix
Only negative is the first 20 minutes are usually filled with irrelevant small talk, bad jokes, and odd tie-ins to their sponsor.
  • Wilhelm Senpai
Best Place for Husker news and notes.... and Big Boy Toys
Love this podcast! Sam, Chris, and Evan work extremely well together and off of each other leading to an entertaining podcast that's also full of great insight, information, and opinion each week as we all consume everything we can about Husker football. Can't wait for the next podcast!
  • Trumpisurdad
    Honest analysis of Nebraska football.
Critical but fair. These guys love Nebraska and Nebraska Football but are sports journalist 1st. Living in Portland OR I appreciate being able to get good information about my team. Thanks guys
  • GrizzlyCat86
    Best Husker podcast out there
By far the best Husker content out there. Sam and Jon are great.
  • JacobGerber
Great Podcast about more than the Huskers
This is my favorite podcast to listen to right now, and it's not just because they offer really fantastic insight about the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The other thing I really like about this podcast is how deeply Sam and Jon get into culture, leadership, and wider trends in the world. Football isn't everything, so this podcast is helpful to put football into the larger context.
  • Red Rulz
    Great Husker football podcast.
Intelligent and insightful analysis. If you want to be a truly knowledgeable Husker fan, you'll listen to this.
