Hiker guy 805Get your daily cycling talk show fixI love listening to the show. I particularly like race reports.
-
jtleo06Amazing asset just like Trainer Road!Great interviews and information. I started listening and using trainer road while preparing for Leadville. They both were critical to finishing the race!
-
The L$TPerfectionRecently discovered this podcast. I have learned more about cycling, nutrition, and training in a month from it than I had for years before. Hosts are fantastic love having pros as guests regularly. Perfection. Podcast convinced me to subscribe to TR!

WalksbimmerInvaluable…TrainerRoad’s podcast continues to be an absolute winner for cyclists looking to improve their cycling…

JcwallerEnjoyable ConversationsI really enjoyed the conversation with Keegan and Kyle. It is good to understand that everyone is different and "how are you responding" to whatever you are doing. Just becuase someone else reponds to something does not mean it is a good idea for you. Thanks Folks!

ChaplainCoreyReally great cycling talkNot a subscriber (yet), but I love the podcast. I appreciate the longer format. We can always catch up later if it’s too long. Edit: I subscribed to TrainerRoad this past fall/winter. What was i waiting for?! It’s the best training app and STILL the best cycling podcast.

djcuwjbeNot as good as it once wasI still listen to the TR pod but I don’t anticipate the latest releases like I once did. Jonathan is a good host and Nate provides great off the cuff commentary. But the pod in general is running out of steam. The scientific topics are running their course. I miss the old days when they bantered about big upcoming races or challenges. There’s very little of that these days. I miss Chad’s deep dives, Amber’s perspective and Pete’s real world analysis. Go back in the archives and listen to those pod casts. Ivy was a miss in my book and didn’t think she was a good fit to begin with. It’s still worth a listen but I find myself fast forwarding through some of the more recent episodes.

Camel08Great info but the host is way too hyped…Such great info but I struggle to listen because Nate constantly interrupts the guests or other hosts and then is so amped he gives me anxiety! Calm down bro

BikrrrLow volume and race spoilers detract from otherwise great podcastPodcast volume is lower than other podcasts, and twice in the past few episodes they’ve given spoilers only weeks after big events!? This podcast is about training, not racing news, no need to mention big race results. Or, at the very least, give a heads-up before you do for those of us who don’t watch races as they happen!

jct1115Casual Cyclist Excited to do moreThis podcast has been a great stepping stone to move from a casual pedal pusher to someone training for performance. From nutrition, training, gear, technique, and more, the TR crew is always entertaining and informative.

DisaronyesI’m new to cycling and I love this show! This show is fantastic for me as a newb, not because it’s easily digestible for newbs, but that it reaches many depths that demonstrate how complex this hobby/lifestyle is. Jonathan does such a great job of making any data, stories, anecdotes, and discussion relevant to riders of all experiences. It shows that they know who their audience is. They recently did an episode on nutrition (ep 458, released ~Jan 18, 2024) that was about the most informative thing I’ve ever listened to. It helped to clear up so much. That episode, and the one following it (459) really show how passionate these guys are about cycling. Inspirational. I’ve been listening for 8 months now and I’ve felt the same positive feelings about a lot of the shows, a handful of which I’ve listened to multiple times, which I can’t say I do that regularly with any other podcast, or any form of media in general.

TheMattTuckerLearning and Getting FasterGreat podcast. Love the positive tone. Keep it up!

ncProlineUsed to be betterBack-catalog has great and interesting content (just recognize the obvious bias toward the TrainerRoad platform). It’s gone downhill over the past year or so unfortunately, and I’m loosing interest.
-
AK0008Top notch science based cycling podGreat pod, but a few things to improve on. Less laughing- it brings down the professional feel of your podcast, and please stop using the word like and insane 20 times per pod. 5 stars otherwise. Keep up the great work, TR 👍

Pearson AI’ve learned a tonI have learned so much from this podcast and love race recaps with different pros like Keegan. They put in a ton of effort to make this podcast great and it really shows.
-
Jaydub_PNWThey give 110%Jonathan and Ivy and team really put in 110% to this show. They work hard to bring us a ton of content to digest each week. I look forward to Thursday episode drops! I recognize this podcast is the marketing platform for TR and take or leave the promotions. Still a ton of value here!
-
n$ksoxGreat PodcastI feel smarter and faster after every episode. Every cyclist should be able to take something away from each episode.

Hootie821Pre 2023, 5 stars, average nowThe show had been becoming less appealing to me as the show got into 2023 due to a loss of “it factor” between hosts on the show. The show totally lost me when they had a guy named “dialed health” on to bro out with Jonathon on how to prevent injuries without actually talking about how to prevent injuries. It’s cycling content so that’s cool, but the golden days where it was undoubtedly 5 stars are very much over.
-
HearHere! Not the sameThe show quality has dropped significantly without Chad and has turned into a self promotion tool for one individual. TrainerRoad the product is great-but the podcast is too long and feels more like a fanboy exercise.

DannyJLeoWealth of Information for All LevelsNo matter how much you think you may know about any discipline or aspect cycling, there’s always something new to learn and take away from every episode. I’ve never been a big podcast listener because I get bored, even listening to topics I’m interested in, but I’ve never skipped or not finished an episode I’ve started. I also can’t say enough good things about Trainer Road’s training plans. The podcast, whether you use their training app/plans or not, pairs so well with their training services that I don’t ever see myself using another service when riding indoors. I’d rate it 10 stars if I could!

mojosodope2014Informative… but dry.Education without entertainment.

SBJOEYearning for less voices and more conciseI love this group. I just feel it’s a bit like Tim Ferris, the podcasts are just too long. -less hosts = less time for each one to make a point Maybe divide the hosts up to different shows and split the content apart. Often times I listen because I am drawn in by the title, only to find out that specific content is spread across the entire 1-2hrs. In general I believe podcasts are in need of this evolution.

Add Free 2029Top notchExtremely well done!
-
reeselovesridingamazingthis podcast has been so helpful and inspiring and im a junior racer. can’t stress the fact enough that this podcast is life changing!!!
-
A filthy MonkeyNot what it used to beReally dry with little chemistry. Long gone are the days of informative deep dives and fun banter among friends. Not sure there is any recovering from the current lows.
-
JLodderNot what it used to beUpdated my prior 5 star rating to a 3. The magic of Jonathan, Chad, Amber, and Nate is over. While the podcast does still provide certain value now and then, the fun/entertainment factor is no longer there and the revolving door of guest hosts fails generate the same engagement and relatability of this podcast’s past. Miss the days of the team challenges, the story telling amongst the 4, the back and forth jokes. This podcast was once a priority listen for me. I now cycle more than ever yet hardly feel the desire to give new TrainerRoad episodes a listen.
-
giorgitdWeak without Coach ChadWas a big fan and consistent listener. Quality has declined, the number of rotating hosts is hard to follow and the departure of Coach Chad is the last straw. My time is valuable and this podcast is no longer worth listening to.
-
RPS_SLCBest in the bizBest podcast in the game. Ivy is a gem, and a national treasure. That Ventum GS1 is a beast, just like its rider! ❤️❤️❤️

Jai HoPodcast name is not really accurate anymoreNate is a talented CEO, but isn’t a coach. Ivy is a talented multi-discipline racer, but isn’t a coach. Jonathan is a coach, but spends much of his time either trying to sell the product (their app) or begging for 5-star reviews of the podcast, which is fair since he’s the Communications Director. He offers training advice, but it was always just additional tidbits on top of the substantive content from their head coach (Chad Timmerman). Chad is a great coach and deserves much credit for developing TR’s workouts and training plans. Unfortunately he was recently fired (his departure was “not voluntary” with no further explanation given…probably for legal reasons) So that leaves the three to crank out “Hot takes” episodes which are entertaining, but don’t add much value to serious training. I’ve loved this podcast over the years and haven’t missed many episodes, but Chad and his deep dives were the biggest reason I listened. The three remaining hosts are likeable enough, but without the steady science-backed info from Chad, I fear it has devolved into a morning talk show with a cycling theme. For the sake of saving the podcast, I hope they find a reputable replacement
-
stgarverToo many Hot Takes episodesPodcast has lost its soul it seems. Less banter, less personality. Just seems so dry these days. And so many “Hot Takes” episodes, which just feels a little lazy. I miss Chad.
-
AtlantaCyclistNo Chad? I’m unsubscribedNow that they fired Chad from TrainerRoad I’m not going to waste my time listening to this podcast anymore.
-
Mike OrfMy favorite podcast!I have listened to this podcast for a few years now and this team is awesome! Love the technical talk, race analysis and overall training motivation I get from listening. Thanks Trainer Road team!

BespokeTrailMixWealth of informationI was using TrainerRoad for a while before I even realized they had a podcast. Wow was I missing out! It’s now my most-anticipated podcast each week. They look at every aspect of cycling to help you improve and you’ll never hear a single ad. I honestly didn’t think there were podcasts like this anymore.

Izzysmommy35Best and most entertaining cycling advice! The TrainerRoad crew behind this podcast is amazing. Whether you use TR app or not, the advice found here and the amount of information they give is amazing for any cyclist of any ability looking to improve their performance. EwilbourneSolid Coaching from an excellent team!I’ve been listening and learning from this podcast for over three years now and I’m sorry to say this is my first written review. The team always does a great job and I never fail to pick up pointers that I can put to great use. I’m also a subscriber to TrainerRoad and rely on it to guide me to my objectives each season. So far you’ve helped me win my class championship in the Cane Creek MTB Series (2020) as well as reach other milestones. Currently battling some non-bike related health issues and I’m using TrainerRoad to help me maintain my fitness level while not competing. Great stuff and I really love the AI FTP detection as I am an athlete that does well on race day but not well on Ramp Tests!
-
Alex222201This just never gets old.I love this podcast. So much useful info and fun banter. It is interesting and informative. And (along with adaptive training) it makes me faster!

Jonny BowmasterBest Cycling/ Endurance PodcastAfter finishing collegiate sports I needed an a physical and mental outlet more than the gym. I got into running and now cycling. I found this podcast look for quality info about cycling, hoping to learn a thing or two. This podcast takes it to the next level. Every aspect of this show is great for not only cyclist but anyone interested in endurance sports. The deep dives, hot takes and general discussion are very informative. Cliff from Spokane Wa.No calorie restriction while riding?I lost 60 pounds 8 years ago limiting my calories to 1300 a day and cycling 120 miles a week minimum, I have gained nothing back. It transformed my cycling from a slug to a hammer. If I listened to their approach I would still be 210 pounds at 5ft7. I did sacrifice a racing season to lose the weight, but the transformation has been life changing. Not everyone is a serious bike racer and they use cycling and calorie restriction to lose and maintain weight.

Bill JefferyUnbelievable Program!I started riding bikes in the Spring of 2020. Early January I signed up for the lottery to race the 200 in Unbound. Jan 18, 2023 // I joined trainerroad with no clue as to what my FTP was. Ramp test said 310 - I was ecstatic to say the least. Jan 25 // I got the email saying I’m in for Unbound. Followed the training plan the program recommended for 2 weeks Feb 1 // exactly 2 weeks later (today) my FTP ramp test said 327. Insane! I’ve been listening to the podcast for 6 months and I have no idea why I waited to join TrainerRoad, but I’m glad I’m in it now!
