Stephanie has a way of touring you through Southern Kitchens that makes you feel like you are right there. Her interviews are casual but in-depth, smart and funny, and down-to-earth. I find I get engrossed in topics I didn’t know I would be interested in when she focuses on niche areas of the culinary world. I look forward to new episodes each week! This past episode with William Dissen reminded me of my childhood in Appalachia too. Just a fantastic episode!

I just discovered this podcast last month. And now I have binged all 8 seasons! The host is so warm and smart and she brings out the best in each of the guests! Traveling to Charleston in June. I can’t wait to try out some of her ideas!

This is a wonderful, heartfelt, soulful conversation that allows Chef Scott Peacock to really dive deep into his philosophy and sources of inspiration for his cooking. As a Frequent Flyer Biscuiteer, I loved hearing more stories, loved how the conversation unfolded and sparked wonderful memories and associations. Respecting the process is a southern way of life, whether that process is showing one’s work for fifth grade math, crafting what will become a family heirloom dinner table, or in Chef Scott Peacock’s case building the biscuit experience. Loved it! So excited that you came to an area near where I live. AMI is the best. I have a favorite beach spot just over the bridge on Longboat Key! Have been enjoying the beaches there since I was little in the 70’s. Always get mullet at a few places.

I am finally getting around to writing a review of the Southern Fork. It is one of my all time favorite podcasts. Not only do I love to listen to the host, Stephanie Burt’s soothing voice, I learn something in every episode. I highly recommend adding this podcast to your list. It’ll make you hungry. Steph Burt is my favorite kind of journalist: curious, kind, smart, and thoughtful. She’s got all the chops for giving food writing and podcasting the heft and flavor it deserves. Yep, you might first fall for her killer smile and Y’all-spiced accent, but it’s the deep-diving storytelling you keep coming back for. The intimacy of food, the relationships that drive our appetites for gathering around a table and digging in. Layered and rich, like a decadent coconut cake, The Southern Fork satisfies my sweet tooth, and savory ones too.

I have listened to a handful of food podcast off and on (mostly off) but I truly love the Southern Fork. Hosted by Stephanie Burk who inspired the title of this review. Not only does the listener get to hear about places to eat in the Southeastern US and the variety of options that exist. Just as importantly one gets to hear the stories of those who ply their trade with equal measures of honesty , hope and humor mixed in. So listen to the Southern Fork and be prepared to take a trip down the highways and backroads of this culinary ride.

Finally! I love Stephanie’s saucy and spicy podcast (y’all!) and secretly follow her around the Southeast dining at the restaurants she visits. She keeps delicious company. Thanks for keeping life fun and interesting.

Host Stephanie Burt takes you on a wonderful food journey throughout the American south weaving and navigating her way from plate to plate from city to city. She interviews some of the most interesting people throughout region all of whom are doing amazing things. The podcast feels less like a dry/formal one on one question and answer podcast session and more like friends having coffee over a great slice of pie, or sharing a beer and chatting into the evening. I have learned a great deal from the Southern Fork and recommend it to anyone interested in southern food and culture. Each week we are fortunate to venture along with her as she asks some of the best questions (what’s keeping you up at night) or my particular favorite, the magic picnic basket segment, which I have incorporated into the conversations I have with friends and coworkers. If I could rate this 10 stars I would, she absolutely deserves them!!!

Stephanie is a charming host and talks with an interesting stream of guests. If you like food and drink you’ll love the southern fork!

I’ve been listening to the Southern Fork for about a year now. 30+ episodes I’ve heard. I love the personal feel they have. She really seems to connect with the guest. I’m in the restaurant business so they are very relatable. Sure does make the time go by faster on long drives! I highly recommend. Cheers!

I discovered this podcast a couple of years ago. Having grown up in ENC (Eastern NC); I have always enjoyed when the episodes took a trip to North Carolina. As much as I love the city of Charleston and spent the better part of my 20s and 30s weekends there; Stephanie does an amazing job of bringing the entire region of the South and its food to the listeners. She is always on task and the interviews are always light and full of humor. She interviews the region’s best chefs and brings a vision to the listeners their restaurants. If you love southern cooking and the establishments she covers; you will not be disappointed. Keep on doing what you’re doing. We love it.

I discovered The Southern Fork podcast last fall and have listened to it ever since. I look forward to new episodes each week and listen to previous ones in the mean time. Stephanie captivates my attention in each episode often teaching me something new. The south is a new home for me and listening to the stories of the people who make it what it is makes me feel more connected. Being a very food driven person, especially in times like these, it is important to stay connected and involved as possible. Stephanie has helped me to do that by continuing to share her work. These stories remind us that these people have always been there for us so now it is time to be there for them.

I moved to South Carolina and now that my daughter is at Ole Miss I’ve been on a quest to explore the roll food plays in southern culture by following SFA and John T Edge. Listening to Stephanie on The Southern Fork has been a great way to learn about foodways closer to my home in Fort Mill, SC. Stephanie has a playful yet journalistically refined style that is a pleasure to listen to. Rarely is one episode enough in a sitting. Keep up the good work! Hope to meet you at an event soon.

I only recently learned of Southern Fork and it’s quickly become my favorite podcast. I now look forward to my long commute to and from work because I can catch up on past episodes. Stephanie is the podcast host you want to sit and have a drink with (or share a meal with, I should say!): fun and funny, curious and passionate. And she has the voice of a Southern angel! I’ve been enjoying the behind-the-scenes chats here—they’re a fascinating slice of the modern Southern culinary world, and they always pique my interest in further exploring that region.

Stephanie and I coincidentally sat together on a flight and after I realized she knew so much about food and different restaurants, I asked her to recommended a restaurant to have a late lunch in Charleston. She gave two options and one, in particular, sounded spot on to what we wanted. Leon’s was a compilation of a “dive” and the most amazing and interesting restaurant I have been to on a while. It is an old mechanics garage, turned into a very casual oyster house. I ordered the kale salad and crushed avocado toast and wasn’t disappointed. We had other great dishes at our table, mahi sandwich, Brussels sprouts, hushpuppies and the black-eyed pea salad, which I immediately added some to the kale salad on our waiters recommendation. A five star restaurant in shorts and sandals was the summation of our late lunch. Thank you, Stephanie for a wonderful decision!

This podcast is terrific. The host is a genuinely good interviewer and has a great voice and hilarious laugh, the guests are awesome, and the topics are awesome. The sound quality isn't always pristine because she interviews people in all sorts of places, but it's such a great southern comfort food podcast that it doesn't even matter. As a re-located southerner currently living in the Minnesota tundra, listening to this podcast makes me feel at home in the best possible way.

I am so glad I found the Southern Fork Podcast. Stephanie has curated some amazing conversations with the South's most amazing Chef's and Boozy beverage masters. Her converstions take you all over the South, from Charleston to Louisville KY and points in between. It is clear that Stephanie can relate easily to others as her interviews are relaxed and a true conversaition with her guests.

I like all of the episodes, but do yourself a favor and listen to Episode 81. Nathalie Dupree, the mentor with the young soul, chats with Stephanie Burt, the young woman with an old Southern soul. It's like a coffee klatsch you're glad you were invited to.

Don't be misled by Ms. Burt's sultry and sweet voice; the content of her podcasts is relevant and informative. She has her thumb on the pulse of the southeast food and drink scene!

The content I can hear is quite good, but not worth adjusting the volume up, down, up, down to make up for the maladjusted sound balance between the host and guest. Example? The Emmylou Harris episode! Instead of bragging you record the podcast yourself, it's time to hire the services of the audio service who sponsors you. Unsubbing for now.

I look forward to Stephanie's tour through the Culinary South every week. I love that this podcast takes me from farm to festival to dining room to bake shop and everywhere in between.
