    BEST Podcast for all doctors!
Shout out to Dr Nii & Dr Renee for their transparency and informative insight into working locums. You make my job as a locums consultant or as I call myself a “Physician Career Coach” so much easier! Why wouldn’t doctors want to work locums. You answer “All” the questions and then some. Doctors take a listen… they are real and shed light on the stigmas around locums and all the benefits.

    Thoughtful and inspiring conversations
Episode 372 was on point! I was so intrigued by Doc G's early pull toward hospice care. As a career coach for healthcare professionals, I see that too often we ignore that inner voice that directs us towards our higher purpose. I also appreciated Doc G's perspective on setting aside financial fears for a moment and focusing on our purpose, connection, and identity. By doing so, we can build a strong financial structure based on our values. Thank you for such a deep and thoughtful talk!

    Great Chemistry! Great Content!
My first listen two days ago quickly turned into a multiple episode binge. Love these two! Super relevant stuff for doctors, obviously, but also really interesting convos for non-doc folks like me!

    Great vibes!
I love the personalities of Dr. Renee and Dr. Nii. I love how they feed off of each other and make not just listening to the podcast fun (I first listened on Apple Podcast) but also watching it is fun, too. I’m not a doctor, so not the target market by any means, but I am an official subscriber now simply because I enjoy the vibes and even the information they provide can be applied outside of the doctor niche.

    Amazing show!
Great show with awesome guests that showcase unorthodox/non-traditional ways healthcare providers can make other revenues of income, follow their passions, and still help the communities in which they serve.

Innovative Fusion: Medicine, Finance, and Business with Docs Outside the Box
While working as a biomedical engineer and real estate entrepreneur, I discovered Dr. Nii Darko's podcast, Docs Outside the Box. As a passionate enthusiast of medicine, personal finance, and business, I found it challenging to locate medical professionals who also possessed expertise in finance and business. This podcast, however, proved to be a transformative resource. Docs Outside the Box not only inspired me but also demonstrated the limitless opportunities beyond traditional medical practice. Each episode is packed with valuable insights and guidance from professionals who have branched out into various fields such as entrepreneurship and personal finance. My admiration for this podcast and Dr. Darko grew after a chance encounter with him while shadowing trauma surgery at a hospital. Having listened to his podcasts for several months, I was thrilled to meet him in person. He went above and beyond to support my medical career aspirations, proving to be a genuinely compassionate and caring individual. His dedication to assisting others and imparting knowledge is apparent in every Docs Outside the Box episode as well as in his hospital interactions. I wholeheartedly recommend Docs Outside the Box for anyone seeking a podcast that brilliantly merges medicine, personal finance, and business. Dr. Nii Darko is not only an authority in his field but also a genuinely kind and inspiring person who will encourage you to think creatively and pursue your passions.

    AMEC 2022
My name is Phil and I just met Dr. Renée Darko at AMEC Conference. Her energy was radiant and inviting; similar to how it is on the show. Drs Nii and Renée Darko are doing amazing work by educating us on how to leverage and take command of our careers in unconventional ways. Even though I’m only a pre Med right now, I love love love listening to this podcast because it has enhanced my view of the potential medical career that I can have. Thank you guys for everything you do. Keep up the GREAT work

Dr. Nii and Dr. Renee inspire me
I found Dr. Nii through the growth and leverage summit and have been listening to his podcast for a year! Dr. Nii inspired me to get off the couch and take the first step! He inspired me return to playing music and take the first step: I bought a piano, found a fantastic teacher and have been making videos of myself playing to share with family and friends. I’m so happy to have a creative outlet again after not playing for 20 years!! Dr. Nii and Renee also inspired me to take the first step to finding an organization to volunteer and work abroad for 2 weeks in Kenya this year! I am a full-time pathologist in private practice, but I am making this happen and I’m so excited! This has been a dream for years, and I owe a lot to Drs. Nii and Renee for helping me see that I could make it a reality!! I love listening to their discussions every week. Their relationship and fun personalities shine through. They have outstanding guests (that highlight diversity in medicine!!) and provide honest opinions on topics that matter to doctors, no matter where you are in the stages of training or practice. I believe it truly helps that Dr. Nii focuses so much on showing his work and reminding us to go back to mission, mindset, and money when making big (and small) decisions.

    Thank you for the inspiration!!
Dr. Nii and Dr. Renée Darko team up and break down big topics in interesting and fun ways. As a Pre-Med and future physician I have been inspired by your stories, vulnerability and openness in this podcast. I have learned not only about medical school in this process, but tactics to approach personal finance, loans, lifestyle changes and much more. The dynamic you two have is amazing and I look forward to each new episode. Wishing you both the best and I look forward to learning more from you both.

    Refreshingly honest and entertaining
Bravo to Drs Nii and Renee for their successful dynamic on this show. While I enjoyed listening to Dr Nii solo, I feel this duo brings a unique energy and look forward to each new episode. As an early career physician myself, I appreciate their candid approach to personal finance and professional issues.

Dr Nii and Dr Renee have become the dynamic duo of podcasting. Their real world experience and knowledge is always right on time. I enjoy the rawness of their podcast and have been following from the very beginning and this podcast has developed into my all time top source to hear what is going on in the world of Doctors doing extraordinary things. Thank you for answering my question in near real time on air, I am honored and thankful that you took the time to do so. Keep up the great work! I look forward to what’s ahead for the show. If there were 10 stars to give, you’ve got my vote. Happy New Year

    Very Helpful
These episodes are very inspiring and helpful no matter the stage of your journey in medicine, or if you’re just a casual listener who isn’t ion medicine. Dr. Nii, his wife who co-host at times Dr. Renee (also who has her own podcast specifically for premeds) and their guest talk about real life situations and news with medicine and the world. Great show!

    Invigorating and Inspiring
I stumbled upon Dr Darko and Dr Renee as I began exploring options to expand goals beyond just a clinical doc. I listened to an episode about them investing in real-estate and one of the guests they had on the show. Nii and Renee are hilarious, they bring on helpful guests and I appreciate learning things I never knew about. I would highly recommend for any physicians that want to get outside the box.

    From One Creative to Another
Hey Darko Docs, I love this podcast. It’s really opened my eyes on so many real world aspects of life outside of your careers as physicians. I share this podcast with everyone I can and when I do, the response I receive is “bro I’m not trying to be a doctor though.” And I laugh and tell them “trust me”. You all touch on so many things that I’ve had questions about but didn’t know where to find the answer nor how to even ask the question. I’m studying to be a physician now as a 32 year old pre-med student at the University of Pittsburgh. It’s really been a stressful year and this podcast eased some of that stress and kept me grinding through biochemistry and Human physiology 🥴. I’ve graduated with degrees from 2013 and have been working full time since then. Started on this journey in 2017 and I’m finding myself in this. But there are absolutely times when I don’t feel I am able to keep up and not working hard enough and not smart enough. I turn on your podcast and I’m good. “Back at it again with the white vans!” (That part is for Renee). Your podcast also made me feel like I don’t have to give up my other interests and talents; in fact you have taught me to embrace them more while I’m doing this. So I’ve been playing my saxophone more, taken up photography (IG: evoke0ne), started doing some music production again. Creativity has always been my way out of my head and just being in the moment. I believe when we are striving to be something like a doctor or lawyers, we become too focused on what could happen if I do or don’t do something and fixate on the future. We can’t practice being a doctor now, like I can practice my saxophone now, and we tend to live outside the moment. Your podcast and creativity has shown me that. I hope I can be as great a mentor to others the way you’ve been for me. Thank you Dr. Nii for your awesomeness and knowledge every episode. It’s truly priceless. Dr. Renee is cool too but we know who runs the show 😎...✌🏾🙏🏾 Jamar ......Dr. Renee I didn’t mean it! I just was trying to get that 15 minute chat with that last statement. You are the life of the show. Slowly but surely, “docs outside the box with Dr. Renee Darko.” Wish you both the very best.

    Docs keeping in 💯
This is my first time listening to your podcast after hearing you speak on Passive MD summit. I’m looking forward to learning in the real business school of medicine! I’ve ordered your 3,2,1 podcast book ready to take a plunge in 2021. Thanks for being an inspiration and inspiring more docs to control their own narrative.

They da best! (DJ Khaled voice)
I absolutely love this podcast! During residency I always knew there had to be more to medicine than just being overworked and not feeling in control of my life. This made me feel alone in my thoughts. This podcast makes me feel not alone and encourages me even more that I am a doc outside of the box! And when Dr. Renée is on the show it is even more powerful. Dr. Nii you chose well AAAAAND she’s Haitian AAAAAND she’s from Brooklyn (just like myself!) Dr. Renee is BAD! OK! Honestly, these two amazing docs complement each other so well and I love that they keep it 100, no fluff! Keep on doing your thing, Dr. Nii. We see you and support you all the way, brother!

Not your average doctor podcast! 🔥🔥🔥
If you want a podcast that will challenge you to get out of your comfort zone as a Doc or medical student, while still being entertained, this is the podcast for you. I may be biased but I think this is the dopest podcast ever. As a second year Ghanaian-American medical resident, to say I’m inspired by Dr. Nii and Dr. Renee Darko is an understatement. They’re raw, authentic and are not afraid to be vulnerable on each show. They’ve inspired me to think outside-the-box of medicine. From discussing topics on current issues like the murder of George Floyd, to their battle with Covid 19 🥲 to Locums Tenens and financial independence through multi-family real estate, they’ve inspired me to not only be a better doc but a better human being. You’ve got a life long listener Docs!

The moment I decided to pursue medicine I found this podcast. This podcast is a one stop for everything one needs to be inspired, education, and motivated within medicine. The best doc podcast out right next to black men in white costs. Exceptional!

Thank you for using your platform to educate!
As an outsider looking in with my own opinions, I enjoy listening to your perspective on the medical field. Those of us who aren’t doctors know that it’s tedious work becoming a doctor. However, I think for many, prior to COVID, most thought that once you became a doctor, you’d reached the land of milk and honey. Thank you for providing perspective and keep on enlightening! I look forward to hearing your topics in 2021! Continued blessings! -Jen Scott

    Legendary podcast
This podcast is golden! I’m a non traditional premed who on their 2nd gap year. I’ve been listening to Dr. Darko for almost 2 years. He has displayed to me that I can be a doctor that’s don’t have to just do clinical and see patients. I learned about locums and finances. I love his wife also well when comes onto the show! Dr. Nii I’ll love to have a 15 minute conversation with you and maybe be featured on the podcast one day😂😂

    End of year rewind covid
Mentioned how we are not discussing detrimental effects or isolation. My husband is a crime scene investigator in a minor city... suicides and overdoses are significantly higher,,, investigating 3-4 a day versus 3-4 a week pre covid I myself treat autoimmune diseases, flare during times of stress.. or m not exaggerating when I state that literally my entire Rheuamatology patient population is flaring Love your podcast and the variety of speakers and topics you cover, keep up the great work, your generation of docs is rocking it! I wish this podcast was around when I finished training

Episode about student loans sealed the deal
I’ve been tuned in for a a year plus, but utter laziness has prevented me from rating this podcast (I apologize!). After listening to episode 201, I was inspired to leave a review. I love the honesty of Dr. Nii and Dr. Renee. I’m only in my second year of medical school, and I’m already feeling the burden of owing 6 figures in student loans. Having the Darkos describe their journey provided a solace that no sort of debt counseling would ever bring about. Anyways, this show is consistent in the fact that it always delivers gems and enlightens listeners. I’ve shared the podcast with my classmates. Please keep up the great work! It is very appreciated. Be safe.
