    Perhaps the best magician’s podcast
Between Jonah’s guests and his show “business” advice, this is easily my favorite podcast for magicians and the best in my opinion. I’ve been listening for years.

    Best Resource in Magic!
This is the first podcast review I have written, but I feel compelled… As a lover of magic and listener to the Discourse in Magic podcast for over one year, I have to say, in my personal opinion, this this the #1 resource we have in all of Magic. Really… paid/unpaid… it doesn’t matter. The amount of content and richness of each episode is unparalleled compared to everything else. Maybe, I just love Jonah’s interview style, but every single episode leaves you with something (or many things) to improve, an idea you never really considered, or just an amazingly interesting story you may not have ever stumbled across. As I’ve listened from the beginning, this podcast has grown and matured in all aspects - content, depth, richness, and not to mention the amazing guest list! I implore any new listener to begin at the early beginning as I did. I promise you, you will find so many wonderful hidden treasures in here, especially from magicians you did not expect, or magicians you weren’t initially excited to listen to. I don’t want to give too much away… but just check out the Brian Brushwood episode from Oct 10, 2019… In this episode, Brian discusses a “letter” and I’ll leave it at that… this episode like many others was so inspiring. Regardless of experience level - hobbyist, new performer, life-long professional, or just a lover of magic… There is absolutely wonderful stuff for you inside!

    Insightful
I love how the host(s) get into real meaningful discussions with their guests. Not just memories, but they get to the how and why performers do what they do. Their “endless cycle” of asking their guests for recommendations for others to interview means they have a great slate of guests. Highly recommend this podcast!

    Simply Amazing!
As a touring performer I’m always listening to podcast well on the road. This is, by far one of my favorites. The talent and discussions are top notch! Surely give it a listen and you’ll find yourself learning much more about magic, being a good entertainer, and improving your human connection with your audience.

    Always Informative and Educational
I really enjoy Discourse in Magic. The variety of performers interviewed is staggering and the wealth of information they share is astounding. Jonah is an extremely well prepared interviewer. It's clear he does a lot of research on each person before the podcast in order to ask the best questions. Keep up the great work.

    Constructive Criticism
I’m only writing this because the host, Jonah, implored all of us subscribers to the show’s email list to bury a recent negative review saying he got a “good laugh” out of it. Honestly, I think that reviewer’s criticism had a lot of truth to it and it actually echoed the critical thoughts I had of the show. I agree that without the guests, I wouldn’t listen to this show. I also agree that Jonah often times seems to not really be listening to the guest or will repeat the same thing that the guest just said without adding anything to it, or he will derail the guest’s story by trying to top it with a story of his own. In particular, I find it frustrating when he will ask a guest a question and they give a great answer and all Jonah has to say in response is, “I love it, I love it” or “Wow that’s great” and then he’s rolling right into the next question, making it clear that he didn’t actively listen to the response. I know that it’s hard to be thinking of questions and thoughtful responses while recording the show, but plenty of other podcasts or talk shows do this better. That previous review probably could have been written more positively, but there is truth that there is room for improvement on this show. That being said, I’m happy that this show exists and I enjoy learning from the wonderful guests that appear on the show. Listen to the constructive criticism and use it to make the show better, just as we listen to our audiences!

    Make Better Magic
This podcast has had a lot of interviews that go very much in depth, while others just don't go far enough. Has helped me think more deeply about the magic I like to do but why I do it in the first place. Jonah is an enthusiastic host who's love of magic and performing shows through. I can't wait for who will be on the show next.

    Best magic podcast
If you want to become a better magician, you’ve found one of the best podcasts on the internet for magic development. You will not learn the newest double lift, but you WILL become a better performer, thinker, and overall better magician. This podcast has taken me from an average performer to much more. Couldn’t recommend this more. Scotty

Better than Tom Cruise's performance in Top Gun.
