How is this a podcast? The women hosting it sound completely ignorant, especially in their beginning monologue. The sound effects are weird. This girl has a chip on her shoulder and it's sad.

All my black friends that are successful and happy have one thing in common. They don’t blame white people for their problems. You should try it, maybe then you can find some purpose.

I’m so bummed I am just now finding out about this podcast. On the upside, I have so many episodes to binge! Hopefully we get some new episodes soon :)

Lousy podcast; I gave it a chance. Typical “listen to me because I’m boo boo downtrodden.” I thought it might be funny; it wasn’t.

How are you gonna try to overcome racism by practicing racism against white guys? It’s not a bad thing to be a white guy. I am so glad this show is losing its audience!!! Shows like this are part of the old way of division. We need to come together for our future. Don’t let them tell you a whole subset of our population is less than another subset!!

There aren’t a finite number of opportunities in comedy, phoebe should be glad these white guys aren’t taking up spots in universities or other positions. Just because you want success in comedy doesn’t mean other comedians are “in your way”. You have to build your own audience with your own brand.

It would be considered hella racist if there was a podcast with this title expect you switched the word white to black. They should be held to the same standard.

This is a show that is clever, knows it is clever, but still doesn’t take itself too seriously. A conversational show where the host is able to own her beauty ANDher flaws without diminishing either? This podcast is like a friend.

I love listening to this show. Provides important, insightful commentary on society while also maintaining a positive, forward looking vision.

The troll reviews here clearly read the title and nothing else - more likely they heard on reddit while eating Funyuns in their mom’s basement that this was something they should be mad about. The show is nothing but love and support for whoever’s on, and us exposed me to a number of people I wasn’t familiar with and got to hear Phoebe go a little deeper with those I did already know. Funny, heartfelt, it’s all here! Give it a chance. PS JoanieMitch owns my soul

The sad, tired argument of her “not having power” so it can’t be racism is illogical, but even if it wasn’t it is clearly disproven by the fact she has a podcast... on WNYC... and an audience. What have we come to in our society if equality just means turning prejudice and hate around against a whole group? Is that really our goal... more hate (just a different focus) instead of less or none at all?

It’s sad that this podcast exists.

I’m saddened that this blatant racism is praised as much as it is. If the only thing that sets you apart is your ability to exclude a certain race/gender then you are flat out boring and unimaginative.

This is a pretty enjoyable B/C-list celeb interview series of people trying to hock their C-list wares by capitalizing on identity politics. But that’s it. Please don’t mistake this as some sort of sociopolitical debate series based on the title. Also, there are literally so many white guys (and gals) that the title no longer becomes ironic.

Phoebe is funny, quick-witted, and edgy. Her quips and comedic- jabs land well. Phoebe’s forced laughter is a bit awkward when she laughs at guests who aren’t funny, but that’s hit or miss depending on the guest for the episode. The guests’ stories are interesting and relatable, so kudos to Phoebe for the lineup. 👍 The podcast line-up inverts Fox New’s staffing practice to satirize the status quo. As part personal therapy and comedy hour, the theme of racial grievance runs throughout and may not be openly inclusive of all audiences: some bits are blatantly discriminatory or prejudicial-which doesn’t help build better community. However, Phoebe’s secondary focus (political activism and not comedy) may be edgy and appealing to those ‘woke’ among us. The podcast is bitter sweet: it’s funny and not funny.

I absolutely love this podcast. Phoebe and all of her guests are visionaries. Anyone who thinks this content is “racist” is delusional and should check themselves at the door. - a white woman

I found your podcast by looking for something that was funny AND by looking for a show that prioritizes perspectives of people of color, women, queer folks, etc. I think there is a need (and plenty of space!) for the voices on your show, so thank you for your work!! You’re brave and beautiful and I’ve been hooked since you dreamed of reading O magazine in a hammock between Lizzo’s boobs. I saw Phoebe in Ft. Worth, Texas and her stand up was as brilliant and authentic as this podcast. Keep keeping on and don’t give the detractors a second thought. We love you and we got your back! So proud of you.

Phoebe is such a gem in the world of comedy. She’s one of a kind and makes me laugh SO HARD. I love the rep between her and Joni Mitch is one of my favorite pairings I’ve ever listened to. I could listen to those two talk about anything for hours. Not only this, but this show really helps facilitate a very important conversation that needs to be happening right now. She’s funny and smart and talented and it’s a fantastic podcast.

I love this podcast and all of the guest she has on the show. The chemistry Phoebe has with all of her guests is inspiring and I feel like every episode I learn something new. I love it so much!! 😭😭😭😭

This is such a wonderful podcast! Thank you to the SMWG team and WNYC for putting it on and sharing so many people’s inspiring stories. Sometimes the interviews are sooo good I don’t want them to end. I wish the time frame could be extended when it’s getting extra deep/ juicy (not intended to sound so sexual but WE sometimes they are)!
