SpongeBobbyHil589SkipTake It Away, and 2legs both do a much better job of presenting and discussing McCartney's solo work. Skip.

Pery ThrillingtonHighly recommend!Sam’s podcast is great, it offers me countless hours of enjoyable listening while I work, drive, and do anything else where I can have a podcast in the background. Paul or Nothing is fun and informative, I rate it 5 stars!

Mezz MesirowBest way to While away the timeThis is the best McCartney podcast. The host, Sam Whiles, is an exceptionally clever and entertaining host. He focuses exclusively on post-Beatles McCartney, which is a vast sea of great music and creativity. And like a skilled navigator, Sam knows every eddy and shoal. He’s not an uncritical guide, mind you. And I do find myself disagreeing occasionally with his assessments (I mean, how can anyone not admire the scintillating soul of Paul’s Souvenir?). But that hardly matters. The greatest pleasure of this show is getting swept up in Sam’s enthusiasm for Paul’s amazing music, and Sam takes you there again and again. He’s a good writer who always finds the right words. It’s just a delight to listen and learn.

AjbckrI SAM Her Standing ThereMuch like The Beatles songs themselves, there are also Beatles podcasts for nearly every mood / vibe you could want. Sam strikes a fantastic balance of fun, reverence and sincerity for all things Paul. While I don’t always agree, I always listen - Sam puts the work in on making great and consistent new content and it shows. He also has that British accent, so I just trust him a bit more thank those other yankee podcasters.

Caroline-S.Fun podcastEnjoy this podcast. Sam is endearingly nerdy and his enthusiasm shines through. Especially love when he has Phoebe from the Another Kind Of Mind/One Sweet Dream podcasts on, their back and forth is hilarious. Keep it up Sam!

RebmotiEngaging enthusiasmReally enjoyable podcast about a great artist. Sam the host is kind of an enthusiastic amateur, which I mean in a good way, not a know-it-all. He has a puppy dog energy that’s really engaging. This has become one of my go-to podcasts.

Cheryl from TampaRefreshing Viewpoint for A Long-Time FanI discovered this podcast several years after Sam started recording it, so I am still catching up to the current podcasts. I am an original Beatles fan and a forever Paul McCartney fan. I saw The Beatles in person (1964 - Jacksonville, Florida) and I have seen Paul McCartney in concert four times (the last time with Sound Check and seats in Row 7). I lived through The Beatles break-up, all of the John and Paul back and forth digs, the embarrassment of having to defend “Silly Love Songs”, and all of the groans when I mentioned that I loved Paul’s music. I must say that it is nice to be at my stage of life, where Paul is finally being recognized for what he has accomplished. What I really enjoy about this podcast, is listening to the opinions of someone who has discovered Paul’s music so many years after it was written and recorded. Sam’s reviews provide a fresh perspective on the music that I have known for all of these years. Often his take on songs pulls the cobwebs from my mind and allows me to see the songs in a new light. Sometimes I have brushed past a song from the past (some of Paul’s cringe-worthy songs) and suddenly Sam will discuss something that is really cool about that song and I rediscover it. Most recently, I have rediscovered Morris Moose and the Grey Goose. How could I have skipped this track way back then when I was listening to the LP? Sam does a great job with this podcast. I really enjoy his enthusiasm, his musings, and his thoroughness in preparing these podcasts. I’m so glad that I discovered “Paul or Nothing”. Keep up the good work!!

uytrdfDon’t Bother With This Podcast-Vulgar language. No reason for that. -Sam Whiles is not informed about all of McCartney’s work (however, he admits it). -He actually has the nerve to ask you to give him a 5 star rating. Not just a review and rating, but a 5 star rating! -His thoughts go all over the place. He hardly finishes a complete thought. - If you want a McCARTNEY podcast, I suggest you try 2LEGS A PAUL McCARTNEY PODCAST with Tom Hunyady and Andy Nicholes.

Judge TimbersMac & CheeseAnd with that one line, Sam had me hooked. Seriously, I have been listening to this podcast for several months and have been enjoying every second. The occasional foul words do not spoil it for me. What finally convinced me to write a five star review was the recent episode examining the Thrillington project. How Sam could create over two hours of thoughtful, engaging and amusing content on such a “minor” Macca project totally sold me and left me with a much deeper appreciation of the music and mystery of Percy Thrillington. Thanks Sam, cheers!

TonyvocileI've RE-changed my mind..Okay....I went from 5 stars to 2 stars...well, now I am going back to 5 stars. Sam's podcast, like many albums from Paul takes time to simmer and lodge deep in the brain and then suddenly initial feelings and response have changed. In Paul's case this is nearly always posiitve. In Sam's Paul or Nothing this is 100% positive. He is young and still learning and occasionally with get a thing wrong BUT he is charming and brings such enthusiasm and excitement into each show that I no find myself anxiously awaiting each episode. I don't enjoy the Listening to the albums with Sam, as he has already reviewed the albums and I would rather head just Sam or just Paul.... I encourage all Beatles/Paul fans to give Sam a try, support his podcast as a paetron and you won't regret it.

finfan64Mixed BagFirst the good news. Sam is enthusiastic, diligent and thorough. But he is best when he has a guest, someone to interact with. A partner to edit and rein him in would be valuable. Alone, Sam goes off into streams of consciousness which are hard to follow. He has a juvenile tendency to start a thought, indeed a sentence, without having worked out where he’s going with it, so he resorts to over exaggerate his “point”. This is true even with material he has clearly written out. Combined with a millennial/ social media quality which confuses snarky negativity with insight, it can be a tough listen for his intended who likely admire, and know more about, McCartney than he does.

McondawebEnjoyed it so farEnjoying the podcast, Sitting in the backyard and it’s a sunny day here in Oakdale New York and I’ve had a two hour conversation with an old friend and unfortunately I have been cursed/blessed with encyclopedic knowledge of all of these rock ‘n’ roll books that I’ve read and went through some great music memories and ironically what popped up was the interview with Giuliani with further exposes his sloppiness in reporting/sources where he conflates different factoids if you will. Giuliani admits that he is a bottom feeder and it was all for money but what makes it worse is he doesn’t get the stories right, when he says that John Lennon kicked the painting stuart Sutcliffe gave Paul McCartney and says it’s absolutely true how the hell does he know that? Its been since denied (the bricks in the window has not)been denied but it’s also totally relevant to dispute because he gets the timing wrong because it was supposed to of happened after Lennon Harrison and Starr lost to Paul in court. Several other sloppy factoid messages make him an annoying curiosity but he’s absolutely self delusional that he’s famous except as a bottom feeder peripheral to the Beatles orbit. disappointing but the rest of the podcast is pretty cool.

Scott from IdahoEnthusiastic without getting hagiographicSamuel is an engaging host, and if his musical knowledge is only surface level, his enthusiasm is contagious. His strange hatred of "Kreen-Akrore" aside, I can't really disagree about any of his final judgements on McCartney's work. Samuel also knows how to get great guests on his show.

Lad1258very enjoyable listeningLove the pod cast...warts and all....Sam has a passion..and pulls no punches..we agree to disagree on some...and its spot on on others...great job!....p.s. I am old school Beatle and McCartney listener...born in 1958..so some things I hear differently...thanks for undertaking the Paul is dead theme...know it's difficult...but great job..!

MmarshfaircOne of the best podcasts out thereI was honestly confused whenever I read some of the reviews here. The host is more often than not very positive about Maccas work, and I was so pleased to find someone who appreciated Morse Moose and the Grey Goose like I do! :) Anyways, the critical reviews I’ve seen seem to be people who don’t understand people have different opinions. I’m subscribed to multiple Beatle related podcasts and I’m always happy to hear someone who has unique opinions. I’ll get straight to the point though: the host is very entertaining and funny, obviously enjoys Macca’s work and keeps a great pace without too much rambling. You’d think it would get boring since he often makes 1-2 hour episodes but they’re extremely entertaining and much research goes into each episode, great place for any Macca nerd. I really enjoy it and I do plan on donating to the patreon, great podcast that I recommend for any Paul (or Beatles) fan!!! New or old.
