Españolistos is a Spanish language learning Podcast spoken in clear Latin American Spanish geared towards intermediate to advanced language learners. I discovered this podcast a few months ago and have been hooked since. I find the topics informative and engaging, plus both Nate and Andrea keep the energy level upbeat. I have a lot of respect for Nate as he’s willing to make the mistakes that we all make so we can learn as Andrea gently corrects him. Great conversational Spanish course

I have enjoyed listening to Andrea and Nate for several years. They represent a perfect mix of topics and education, Andrea is an excellent language teacher and Nate, as an English speaking Spanish learner helps to facilitate understanding as they both navigate the issues of intermediate Spanish learning students. They have a great relationship and their interest in helping me speak Spanish better, as an intermediate Spanish learner, is very evident. I highly recommend their podcast.

Educational and fun!

I have listened to the first 200 Episodes, only another 205 to go! Andrea is an excellent Spanish teacher with a neutral and easy to understand accent. Nate is funny and has no problems making the odd mistake that Andrea is happy to use an example and help correct him. Fun couple, easy listening and interesting topics, thoroughly recommended.

I enjoy listening to this podcast to refresh my speaking and thinking fluency in Spanish. It is a good mental exercise while driving and all of the input is comprehensible. Excellent material for anyone wanting to improve their Spanish and grammar instruction is at the highest levels.

Really Helpful

I’m semi-fluent in Spanish as my second language trying to move to the next level. Espanolistos has been extremely helpful to me. It has helped to clean up my Spanish grammar as well as Spanish phrases that sound more like what a native would say in situations where I might be inclined to say something more literal but awkward.

Better late than never

I found this podcast after trying several others. I really love this podcast. It’s my favorite and really helpful. It’s perfect for an intermediate learner. I’ve loved hearing Nate’s progress. I’ve listened to the first 2 years of recordings over the last few months. I think Andrea, Nate and their guests are terrific and I enjoy the wide variety of topics. I still have 6 years of podcasts to listen to and I really hope the next 300 podcasts are as great as the first 100. Thanks for sharing and maybe I’ll hear my review when I reach the 2024 episodes :)

Entertaining and Educational at the Same Time

I’ve been listening to Andrea and Nate for nearly a year now. They are a large part of my comprehensible input method of learning the language in addition to my grammar lessons which interestingly enough also include their most excellent online Spanishland School which has enough content to keep you busy for years. The episodes are well thought out and learning Spanish along side Nate is very entertaining and enjoyable. Andrea is an extremely talented teacher and she really seems to enjoy herself. If you haven’t yet, I highly recommend that you add this podcast to your Spanish studies and while you’re at it visit Spanishland School and consider becoming a student there.

Hola todos😊! I started listening to Espanolistos for 2 years now😊 and love it. It is my main Spanish immersion opportunity. I listen to it while driving or cooking. I started learning Spanish by listening to songs and then I discovered Duolingo. These 2 methods helped me with vocabularies but only Espanolistos gives me the real conversations with real people talking about daily situations😊. No matter what your method is for learning Spanish, Espanolistos is the immersion you need. And if you're a beginner, listening to Espanolistos will skyrocket your Spanish skills😊. I’ve been listening to the podcast for about three months now after using Pimsleur and it is there great way to continue learning more complex, Spanish as well as more common phrases in words. I travel to Columbia six times a year and each time that I return the locals notice a difference.!

Clear & upbeat

The conversations are clear and easy to understand (especially if you follow along with the transcriptions, which are available for nearly all of the podcasts); yet difficult enough that the intermediate Spanish learner is constantly challenged. Andrea and Nate cover a variety of topics in a light, yet focussed, fashion. Additional courses are offered for a fee, but they are not pushy...my sense is that the Españolistos team is happy to help if you choose to pursue further, more personalized instruction.

Less grammar and more conversations

I really enjoy listening to your show whenever you have conversations or tell stories but I’m not a fan of the grammar episodes. Are you guys familiar with the principles of second language acquisition? If you are not I highly recommend you read Stephen Krashen. Again, this is not a negative review but an encouragement to focus on natural communication about content without nitpicking everything Nate says.

Great for getting your Spanish to the next level

I have been listening ever since a friend recommended this podcast. I love Andrea’s Spanish—she’s very easy to understand. And Nate’s (frequent) errors are relatable and fun; it’s nice to know that I’m not the only one who struggles with some of these mistakes! I highly recommend this podcast for intermediate Spanish learners, or even advanced beginners.

My favorite Spanish-learning podcast!

I’m grateful to the friend who turned me on to Españolistos! I started studying Spanish via an app 3 1/2 years ago and was missing listening comprehension and some grammar. This podcast has both conversations about topics and grammar in a fun way. Andrea’s accent is very clear and although she speaks fast, I can understand most of it. It definitely stretches me! She and her American husband Nate have a lot of fun together - he speaks at an advanced level but still makes mistakes, which she corrects and then we all learn from those. There are hundreds of episodes and it will keep me busy for a long time!

Great Spanish Podcast for Learning

I love this podcast! I’m in Spanish classes right now, at the intermediate level. This podcast has been the perfect compliment to practice hearing and understanding the language as people are having a conversation. They are easier to understand for me. It’s not instruction, it’s a conversation about random interesting topics. Andrea will correct Nate when his Spanish isn’t correct, and explain why, which I appreciate. But it isn’t Spanish lessons, which is exactly what I’d been looking for. Andrea does another podcast school that’s instruction and it’s also great. I hope they keep this going. I love listening.

The podcast series is well presented and I listen to these daily. What I dont like, it is difficult fo figure out how to download the worksheets for the podcasts and sometimes the Columbian Spanish trips me up. Other than that, it is great!

Educational and entertaining

I've been studying Spanish on my own for more than a decade and I've reached intermediate level proficiency. This is my favorite podcast for a variety of reasons. Andrea is an exceptional teacher -- passionate, creative and a stickler for detail -- and I love the interaction between her and Nate. They cover a variety of topics with insight and humor, and you feel as if you're listening to a couple of old friends. I enjoyed the podcast so much, I signed up for their Spanishland program online, and I can attest to the value of that as well. Highly recommended.

Great podcast

I’ve listened to many podcasts for Spanish listening practice and this one really helped me move forward! This is 30 minutes of uninterrupted Spanish listening at a good intermediate level that is fun and engaging. This was the one where I had the breakthrough I’d been working towards- I understood spoken Spanish sentences in a row for 30 minutes by a native speaker! This led me to enroll in Spanish Land School and I am so happy that I did! I highly recommend every single piece of instruction from Andrea and Nate and company!!!

This is a very fun and easy to follow podcast in Spanish that both intermediate and advanced level Spanish students should be able to learn a lot from. This podcast really helps me personally to improve my grammar, learn new idiomatic expressions in Spanish, learn how to speak Spanish the way native speakers do, improve my ability to communicate diversely different and even very nuanced ideas entirely in Spanish, improve my vocabulary, and become more familiar with how Spanish is spoken in Colombia.
