TrivTrivComics podcasting at its bestRob Kelly is hands-down the best comics podcaster out there. Intelligent, thougtful, thorough, and funny, with none of the toxic fanboy nonsense that plagues too much geek discourse. It's such a pleasure to escape into his brand of nostalgia.

PetectiveBig FunMy second favorite podcast on a network full of strong content. Being a kid in the 70s, I had a ton of Treasury formatted comics and most episodes bring back memories. The host is a knowledgeable pro and the subject matter spans different companies and time periods. Now I’m just waiting until my favorite treasury is covered (C-52 Best of DC)

Jason the Comic FanRecapturing my childhood! This is a wonderful podcast. Plenty of time is taken to absorb each issue on every episode. There is such a good enthusiasm for all the treasuries that it makes me want to get them all! Jason the Comic Fan

CaptainEntropyA superb comics podcast for comics’ greatest formatTreasury format comics are bigger-than-a-tabloid, coffee table-covering editions. Rob Kelly, the host of this show, likes to say that it’s the greatest comics format of all time. Comics creators use Treasuries to tell epic stories, and Rob discusses those stories and their outsize art here. And as if his ebullient passion, encyclopedic knowledge, and razor-sharp wit weren’t enough, Rob brings on guests that rival him in all those aspects, and “Iron sharpens iron.” Pick a Treasury edition you love and listen to this show’s coverage of it, or just start at the beginning. Either way, you’ll probably listen to them all.

upstageRob Kelly is costing me moneyI've listened to many FW podasts. Thanks to Rob, I've re-purchased long lost collections of Who's Who comics, as well as runs of books of characters from those epic-long shows. I feel like I could have grown up with and hung out with Rob (and Shag) and find myself having great affection for what they do. I'm a certified MASH super-fan too! Having worked in radio for years, and done some podcasting myself, I hope to eventually make it onto some of their great shows (I'm lined up for JLI with Shag sometime this century), because I feel such a kinship with these boys. TreasuryCast was something I held off listening to, certain I would become addicted and be inspired to spend tons of money collecing these pieces of nostalgia based on the words of love and praise. So... I'm already ebay shopping for Tarzan, Fantastic Four, and more. Thanks Rob! Honestly, I had some of these, and have gone out and found a few that were long lost in my youth. I have both Legion issues (I love the Legion, which is a rare disagreement I have with Rob) signed by Mike Grell, and I have the Battlestar Galactica one (in addition to individual issues, a Marvel Magazine edition - all of which present often widely varying versions of the movie, oddly) and am now looking for more. I had the Star Wars ones once upon a time too. This is a great show. And even if Rob shamelessly panders to middle-aged men and their nostalgia, I don't care. This is the stuff that make me feel endlessly young. When I was 10, people who were 50 were ancient. Now that I'm approaching 50, I still feel young. And I'm certain that it's the geek culture of my youth that has made me feel this way. Rob and the FW crew honor and celebrate everything that I am and would ever want to be! Keep it up! (and call me if you want to do those Legion books and the BSG one!)

narcher78Big Fun!TreasuryCast is another home run from the Fire and Water Network. As someone who came of age slightly after the Treasury era, it’s a great podcast for those of us who want to learn more about these giant-sized comics. TreasuryCast has even inspired me to track some issues down thanks to their great recaps and reviews. Host Rob is always very enthusiastic about the source material and his professional arts background really helps him describe this very visual medium. He also always brings on a very thoughtful guest who brings their own passion and expertise to the table. If you’re a fan of classic Treasury comics past or present, do yourself a favor and jump on board this stellar podcast.

Slangword, a comics fanUnlimited Collector's Editions!A fun look back at one of the coolest comic formats of all time, the Treasure Edition, aka the Limited Collecttr's Edition. This is a member of the Fire and Water Podcaast Network so you know a) it's good, and b) it's about finding the joy. We could all use more joy in our lives, and Rob Kellly and his co-hosts deliver. I have loved the Treasuries since DC's Shazam C-21, and this podcast enables me to enjoy them all over again. Thank you, Rob and Company!

AtchAttackAnother hit! It’s becoming a bit repetitive to laud another Fire and Water podcast, but laud it I will! My favorite comic podcasts are those that I can follow along by reading the issue as well, and if I don’t have it, I relentlessly search it out...even these hard to find treasury editions. I love Rob’s delivery, knowledge and passion and his choice of cohosts. If you are a Bronze Age baby like me, TreasuryCast is a must listen!

GothosmansionGreat to know someone else loves the treasuriesI was a very young child in the late 1970s, and treasury comics were some of my first purchases. Even among other comics afficiandos, I never came across anyone else who was as enamoured with the format as I was. Hearing someone else discuss some of my favorite comics is a lot of fun for me. A few quick comments. Batman is my all-time favorite character, but I'm afraid you may have shot through most of the Batman treasuries a bit too soon and should have spaced them out more. That said, you still haven't covered my favorite Batman treasury, which is Batman's Strangest Cases. In fact, I consider it my favorite comic book that I own, even 40 years later. Either the Ra's Al Ghul treasury or the Justice League treasury would have been my first treasury purchase. The date on the JLA one predates when I begam collecting, but a local department store may not have returned their stock. I did have that one as a child. I'm also surprised that you haven't covered a Hulk treasury yet, considering how ubiquitous they were due to the Hulk's presence on TV in the late 70s/early 80s. From the time I was five until about the time I was 12, Hulk was my favorite Marvel character, so I eagerly snapped up each Hulk treasury when they were released. Marvel Treasury 26, which is the issues where Modok turns Betty into Harpy, is probably my favorite of the Hulk treasuries. After 12, Spider-Man took over as my favorite Marvel character, so I'm looking forward to hearing your takes on more of the Spidey treasuries, although you've covered one of my two favorites: MTE 18. I also have a soft spot for Marvel Treasury 14, the six-armed saga. I realize now that it is not one of the great Spidey stories of all-time, but mine was a gift from my great grandfather, so I have nostalgia for it. I'm also look forward to you covering some of the DC/Marvel crossover treasuires. As mentioned, at that time of my life, Batman and Hulk were my favorite characters from their respective companies. Back in the pre-internet days when comics readers often didn't get news about upcoming events. I had no idea there was going to be a Batman/Hulk cross-over, and I got a huge thrill walking into my local Super Value Grocery store and stumbling across the comic. Needless to say, I knew what comic book I was going home with that day. When I got it home and saw it was by one of my favorite writers, Len Wein, I was really stoked, and who doesn't love the great artwork by Jose Luis Garca Lopez? Keep up the great work!

Master VillainThe Joy of TreasuriesThe Fire and Water network has many great podcasts, but this one in particular really brightens my day. I was a kid in the ’70s and didn’t have a way to get these treasuries back then, but was always intrigued by them. I was particularly obsessed with the "Superman vs. The Flash,” because I honestly thought it would settle the question of who was faster! I did eventually manage to find that one, and many others since, and I completely relate to Rob's sense of wonder and admiration for this format. They were indeed the IMAX of bronze-age comics, and I love the way this podcast celebrates that. Bravo!

HarryinChicagoCapturing Bronze Age MagicI was a kid in the 1970's and cherished Treasury comics. I recently discovered this podcast, and I've been enjoying listening to their recaps and commentaries. Listening to the podcast conjures up 40 year old memories. Lots of fun!

Dan Greenfield/13th DimensionMy fave podcast right now!Y'know how I know a podcast is great? I listen to it even when I'm not on it! HA! Just kidding. #KiddingNotKidding. Seriously, Rob Kelly's got something special going on here. What I dig the most is that I'm fascinated and entertained even if I don't particularly care about whatever treasury edition he and his guest are talking about. For example, I'm not a big Fantastic Four fan and I've never cracked open the Superman Fortess of Solitude issue. But I loved listening along because of the sheer enthusiasm and knowledgeability of Rob and his co-hosts. Great, great stuff.

Ray-B #1Back to the Big Bins! This podcast is going to cost me money and I can’t wait! While I had a few “Giant Comics” as a kid, this show brings to light some of the great books I missed and now I must track them down. I even have carpentry plans for a huge shelf to contain my new collection! This is my favorite show in Rob Kelly’s podcast arsenal, and I hope they keep making Treasury Editions so this show will continue for years, as well as my need for custom shelving. Thanks, Rob!

Travis HamockeryThe forbidden fruit of my youth! As a little kid in the late 1970s, these ginormous comic books were beyond my means and nearly beyond my comprehension! Whenever I borrowed one from a friend and opened it up, the pages filled my lap and overwhelmed my eyes! I never asked my parents to shell out for one, but when DC brought back the format in the 90s, I scooped up every issue! Nowadays I scour the conventions, searching for Treasury treasures and reconnecting with my youth. This podcast is a wonderful companion to those oversized delights. If you've ever laid eyes on a Treasury-sized comic, subscribe to this podcast!

Victor WachterClassic Comics Made Bigger and BolderOne of the most exciting things to a young kid was to get a giant comic book. Not a thick comic, but a BIG comic. Like bigger than your head. The kind you could lay out on your bedroom floor and feel like you could walk right into it. That's what this podcast is about. Like the other podcasts the host is involved in, this is a great deep dive into a specific subject. With guests that are equally excited to be talking about these giant comics, the podcast celebrates the Treasury Edition comics format. It's fun, nostalgic, enlightening and you should stop reading my review and just listen to it.

Earth 2 ChrisA Treasury-Trove of Goodness!Rob Kelly and a bevy of guest discuss one of the most fondly remembered comic formats: The treasury or tabloid comic! Collecting both classic and new stories, these comics opened up the worlds of DC and Marvel to many young readers in the 70s and early 80s. The love and admiration Rob and his guests have for these newsprint works of art is readily apparent and very infectious! For a comic podcast that will live you with a treasury-sized smile on your face, look no further!

Count DrunkulaBigger is BetterRob Kelly, the host of POD DYLAN and the FILM & WATER PODCAST, tackles another one of his passions on this terrific new podcast: treasury comics. Every episode, Rob and a guest review one of the legendary magazine-sized comics published by DC and Marvel Comics. This series reprinted some of the finest, funniest, and sometimes weirdest adventures of Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, and the Incredible Hulk, plus reprints of Marvel's adaptation of STAR WARS, scary stories from DC's HOUSE OF MYSTERY, and that time when Superman fought Muhammad Ali. Size matters, and the TreasuryCast is as oversized and glorious as the comics it covers. Check it out today!
