    Fantastic!
I don’t think I’ve ever written a review before, but Brave or Stupid got me to do it. I am absolutely enthralled with this story. It’s so well written and performed that I needed to share my joy. If you enjoy audio books this is an amazing podcast.

    Into the Raging Sea Broadcast
Thank you for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook. It was heart wrenching and sad, My heart goes out to the families. I was totally engrossed and felt as though I was Iiterally there on the ship in the hearings and amongst the families. Kudos to Rachel Slade and to Andy & Mia for granting us access to this “unnecessary” drama from “corporate America”.

Loved the first season, can’t stomach the second
I really enjoyed the narration and story of season one. I was really looking forward to the second season, but just cannot get through the first episode. I am not finding the story engaging. Maybe it is also the narrators accent, just my two cents. I’m hoping for a better third season, best of luck.

    Fantastic Entertainment
Nice work. I'm living in China and sailing here when I can. This podcast is the best thing on iTunes. Informative, engaging, and entertaining. Keep it up! Is there a third season coming?

    Absolutely amazing
As just starting my career in sailing, this is a great podcast to tune in to while sanding and painting the hull. I’ve only just started the podcast (#10 Brave or Stupid). Such great story telling and the reader has an amazing voice for it. I hope this continues for the long run. Cheers!

Great podcast for sailors or future sailors
I am currently thoroughly enjoying season 1. The audio book is very entertaining and well narrated. The story is well balanced (i.e. not too technical on the sailing part), I think that sailors and city-dwellers will appreciate it just the same. Thank you, 59 North, for publishing great content! The challenge now is to not quit my job and go on the oceans.

    Good stories and great sound
A recent addition to the podcast universe, Sailing Stories is a welcome addition to my listening library. I play the stories while I work on projects. Recommended to exploration enthusiasts, sailors, and arm-chair adventurers.

    Absolute Fun
Loved the very first season of this podcast. Brave or Stupid made me feel like I was ready to quite the 9-5 and set off into the sunset. The host is great, the stories are well chosen. I'm looking forward to the next season.

    Sail on Jean du Sud
Loved season 1 but really enjoying the voyage of Jean on his around the world passage. Whole different kind of voyage from the the two Swedish guys but it grows on you. If you're into sailing and especially cruising, this is a must audio book to listen to. All respects for Lee Cumberland, Andy Schell and Forbes Horton fro bringing it to us.

    Great Podcast!!
Have Spent the last few weeks during my agonizing commute to and from work listening to both seasons. This podcast alone has kept me sane over the last 1000 Miles of the bumper to bumper grind. I sail and own an Ericson 27 who anxiously awaits my weekly trip to the docks in San Pedro for either a sail out to Catalina island or a good cleaning and some maintenance.. while I’m away from my boat these stories are greatly appreciated, enjoyed and keep me close to the water.. I thank you for the time put into this podcast and hope to hear a season 3 soon. I plan to donate monetarily to help the process along.. Thank you again for putting together such an awesome show!! Take care and fair winds!! Mike

    Just great story telling!
This is a truly unique and wonderful podcast! I will actually drive around my neighborhood when I get home from work just to finish a chapter. I enjoy this podcast so much it is the only podcast I’ve ever supported financially and I hope you do too so we can get more crazy stories!

    Jean-de-Sud!
Great to hear the infamous Yves Gelinas reading his own story! What a treat. Thanks for making this available. Any serious sailor should know of Yves and his incredible achievements.

    Bad accent
Cannot stand the French reader in season 2.
  • SVRayola
    Wonderful
Great work getting these sailing stories to podcast and a whole new audience!
  • Rmccotten
    Not as good.... :(
This second season is not as good as the first one. The accent from the author makes it hard to understand what he is reading. It’s still a great story thoe. But I would recommend getting someone to read next time that is a little bit easier to understand.

    Commuting nightmares made pleasant
Surrounded by zombie commuters trudging through life on public transit in Seattle, I find such enjoyment listening to this podcast. In 8 years, I hope to be on the open ocean doing this exact thing. Thanks for the inspiration!

A journey that makes me Jealous
This story has helped increase my want to sail someday. It two men in their fifties can learn to sail, a younger man like myself can do it myself.

Some Bravery - and alot of Ignorance
Anyone who is under the impression that Scandinvians are sophsticated and enlightened, listen to this podcast to get the truth. If you can put up with the never-ending stream of mysogynystic comments and zenophobic rants about everyone, the podcast is ok I guess. I hope I never encounter people like this author when I sail or travel the world.
  • Sailor James
    THANK YOU!
Really wonderful podcast! I listen to it while working on my boat which makes the refit less painful! This is a great story, Thanks for making avaible as an audio podcast allowing us to take it in whereever we are!

    Fantastic
Excellent audio quality. Professionally done. I'm training for a marathon and these are great during my runs. Sailing stories and running, what a great combo.

    Top notch
Awesome story. Can't listen to it fast enough. Though I'm worried that it will end too quick.

Becalmed waiting for the next episode
Excellent addition to 59 North. I spend alot of time in the car and this gives me a much needed reprieve from the daily news.

    Enjoying this story
My wife and I are enjoying this story. Good reading voice and quality. Just a note: quay is pronounced "key".

Awesome podcast for envious day sailors
    Great podcast!

    Exellent armchair sailing story
I've been binge listening to this all day. The writing is excellent with entertaining humor spread throughout a humble story that is a joy to listen to. I love how this is like a book I would intend to read but I can listen to it on my headphones while being more productive, doing chores at the same time. I'm excited to see you there are so many episodes to come so it's not over yet.
  • Jason Schumer
    Great quality!
I started listening to on my drives in between episodes of On The Wind podcasts. This is an amazing and unlikely story that people new to the sailing community will be able to follow and appreciate. I come away inspired after every single episode; I think the honesty and the transparency from the text facilitates that feeling more than anything. 5/5!!
  • flygirl01234
    Addictive
Be careful you might be quickly sucked into the storyline and characters like I was. I found myself looking for excuses to drive in the car somewhere so I could listen in peace.
  • Clenzen
    Living vicariously
A beautifully done podcast. The story teller has a truly respectable ability to put his experience into words. His imagery puts you right in the boat alongside him. Great listen for anyone who appreciates a good story, especially if you love to sail.
