I am so happy the original them music is back!

I listened to about 3 minutes before I turned it off. The narrator’s poor attempt to be creepy with his ridiculously over the top and fake voice was so awful. How is anyone expected to listen to that? Is this dude serious?

Great stories, bad narrator’s voice is unpleasant.

Love this podcast… I really miss the theme song you had until a few episodes ago tho. It was my favorite podcast theme for some reason. Bring it back!!! Or don’t, I’m not the boss of you whatevs.

I've listened to this show for years. Great show. I commend them for attempting a deep dive/solve but that was a swing and a miss. A month's worth of episodes for no closure. I'm sorry but that was a let down. Then to say we hope we set her spirit free huh???

This 4 part series was amazing. It was so respectful of Andy and Jennifer as their stories were told, not to mention the many other sex worker victims. Please listen to this series if you can!

I’ve been listening to this podcast for quite a while now and have always loved it— especially the quiet, creepy music that really gave it a unique atmosphere. Also love the narrator’s soothing voice. Unfortunately, recently, quite a bit of ads with jarring, loud music has been interspersed at various points throughout the podcast that is just awful. Completely changed the creep factor to just obnoxious. Please put the ads together in one place— preferably the beginning or end… UPDATE— just can’t deal with ALL. THE. ADS. Unsubscribed after being a loyal listener for over 5 years.

I just paid for the as free version and there are STILL SO MANY ADS! What gives?

Shane’s voice is soooo creepy. 😩can’t listen to this last episode! Love this podcast but eeeeek can’t hear that creepy voice!

The content is relatively interesting but the narrator’s voice is a massive distraction. And there are far too many ads.

This podcast is well written, covers some very intriguing stories and has a great narrator! Seriously one of my favorite voices in podcasts. So easy to listen to. One of the bests in my opinion!

I like how they look back on the killers life to try to understand possibly why? some people comment it shouldn’t be that way but how many times do you hear a case and just wonder why?! then it all makes sense because they have been crazy since childhood! like the guy who tried to burn his whole family (#71), as a child then later killed his wife 🤷🏻‍♀️ ...not sure why some people write reviews of specific episodes to discuss? esp without specifying which episode...Also I liked it better when just one person tells the story the newer episodes with guests I don't like. I see some comments about your voice but that voice definitely makes the show awesome!

Great show

I was very hopeful for this show because the ep descriptions were intriguing but after listening I wont be following… I have no idea why the choice was made to tell these stories in the manner of someone doing an over the top “Keanu Reeves ala Bill & Ted giving a dramatic reading” impression but it’s ruined what might be a good show…(nothing against Keanu, I love him & am offended i his behalf).. it reminds me of Disgracedland which also has interesting subjects but is impossible to listen to… heightened line readings can be effective but every single line in this show is overly done & it’s too much…

The writing on this podcast is very good, and interesting. However, I’m going to have to unfollow the podcast because the narrator's attempt to sound mysterious is coming across so fake and annoying that I just can’t take it.

Every sheriff, police, district attorney and other should listen to this episode. The red flags were there. Horrible chaos in a place so beautiful.

We enjoy your voice so much, that when other guests are brought on to talk for the majority of the show it is a huge turn off. Their voices are not as quality as yours and it takes away from the shows overall. It also shows a sign of laziness having others speak for so long. Please go back to the original version of just your voice with news clip recordings of cases. Otherwise we love your show.

I like the case coverage. But the narrators voice and dramatic delivery is very annoying. I've literally had to stop listening because of it .

Geeze man, I’ve never left a review but I couldn’t take it any longer. This voice and the way he reads the story is AWFUL! I can’t make it through an episode!

I’ve always enjoyed the masterful storytelling of Mind of Madness but this Halloween episode really tops it all! Added supernatural elements pushed the intricate case to the next level. Keep up the great work!

It is great! At first I didn’t like the host’s voice - but it is perfect for this! Fascinating stories and I love his voice now!!!

Love the unique and interesting cases on this show. I’m a bit of a true crime junkie, and while this isn’t my absolute favorite, it’s easily in my top 5.

This show is decent. it’s basically the Wikipedia being read to you with some voice recordings but the ads…… the ads are out of control, it’s a free show so why should I complain because you just can’t get into it. Every ten minutes there is an ad.

And soooooo many others. Ridiculous.

I’ve listened to this podcast for a couple of years now and look forward to each weeks drop. The crossover with Heather Ashley whose podcast BMTC is another absolute favorite has been great to listen to. His voice is very soothing and takes the edge off the very serious material he presents and he’s very victim conscious which I love. Highly recommend!

Too many ads, not compelling cases

I’ve listened to this podcast for two years & I love it, what I don’t love is the crazy amount of advertisements!! It’s definitely gotten worse!

I just tried this podcast for the first time. I thought the crimes talked about were interesting, but I could not get over the narrator’s comically ridiculous reading style. I swear I’m listening to a parody of a true crime podcast.

Let just one person host.

Excellent content and well written scripts - it’s so nice to hear true crime that hasn’t been done on 14 other shows! But OMG the narrator’s voice makes this nearly impossible to listen to.

I’ve tried on many of the wave of true crime podcasts and this is one of the very few I can bear to listen to. The scripts are respectful and well-written, with just a bare hint of an “it was dark… TOO dark…” edge. The narrator’s voice is engaging and at the perfect tempo.

He don’t really sound like that on live or not in studio you can’t recognize his voice. But I still like the podcast keep up the good work.

The cadence of the narrator’s voice makes listening a challenge. The content is good but ruined by the fake sounding over dramatic narration.

Really weird sing-songy narration, but it’s well-written.

I'd say a third of this is loud, jarring advertisements; worse, they show up with no warning, sometimes with inappropriate content. Really disturbing and confusing.

Way too many commercials.

An 18 year old knows she is pregnant kills the child and the narrator makes her out to be the victim. No thought of what she put the child through. Narrator tells the story believing every lie she told. She didnt know she was in labor, she had no idea the child was alive. Taking pictures of the scale the next day. Give me a break!

Sorry. I can’t get past his voice.

Why is the narrator talking like that? Makes the podcast unlistenable
